Suits is desperate to be the successor to Mortis Ghost's legendary masterpiece OFF, but it doesn't understand what made the original so great. Available for only $0.49, it's still not worth your time.

Regularly available for $1.29, Pathologic is a game about pain. It's not fun, but its masterfully woven narrative and themes make it nevertheless an unforgettable experience.

TIS-100 is a brutally difficult, cerebral puzzle-programming game about repairing a set of very limited assembly processors. You can find it on sale for $1.75, and it's worth every cent.

Downwell has little in the way of story, or even in mechanical variety. What it has, though, is refined--the reflexive gameplay is satisfying, and so are the quick decisions. It's worth $1.49 on-sale.

On the one hand, the core gameplay is fun. On the other, the multiplayer is difficult to set up, and it really requires two players of equal skill. Not recommended, but only just, at $0.79 on-sale.

Breath of Death is a "joke" RPG that has more quality than that title implies. With fresh and engaging mechanics--and of course, humor to boot--Breath of Death is well worth its $0.98 when on sale.

CSTW is a tongue-in-cheek RPG with clever writing and interestingly-unusual battle mechanics. It costs only $0.98 when on sale, and it comes in a bundle with its sister game, Breath of Death VII.

Timberman looks like it could be fun, but its repetitive gameplay loop and semi-crass visual humor quickly grow old. On the plus side, it has a $0.99 base price, but this alone can't quite redeem it.

If you don't own it yet, know that Portal regularly goes on sale for $0.99. It's cheap enough to buy with trading card money, although for that matter, so is Portal 2. Pick up the second one first.

Psychonauts is an acclaimed platformer from Double Fine. It also costs $0.99 cents while it's on sale, so you can pick it up with trading card money.
