JESUS CHRIST BE PRAISED! Quirky EuroIndie. Think watered-down Mount & Blade meets Skyrim (with much better writing). Historically accurate, so no "diversity" though. I know, that ruins it, right?

What an awful, awful game. What a huge disapointment this was. A victim of console cash grab syndrome and terrible, terrible design ideas.

Cinematic, non-linear, choices that matter, excellent writing compared to other RPGs. Wouldn't be witcher without broken combat though. Bad level scaling decisions, tons of crap items.

It's like the Witcher 1, but no sex cards (a handful of sex scenes instead) and a lot more linear. The combat is different, but different isn't always better.

Do you like choices that matter? Do you like random sexy wymyn throwing themselves at you for no reason? Do you think a great combat system amounts to clicking 3 times in a row? That's this.

1997: 'Ah, Fallout. Turn-based, choices and consequences, non-linear storytelling. Surely it heralds a new age in RPGs.' 2017: 'No. NOOOOOO! YOU BLEW IT UP!'

It's Fallout, but with 100x the pop culture references wedged in at every opportunity for no reason. The fact that it's a classic in spite of this should tell you that it's probably a great RPG.

Back when it was released, it was criticized for messing up the lore and having (weak) real-time combat. Today all we can say is "at least it's not Fallout 3".
