The Far Rings chooses some heavy topics to address, and does so with relative tact; however, it makes the more lighthearted elements feel out of place, and often undeserved.

The game's writing almost manages to compensate for its unsubtle plot, but it's ultimately unsatisfying and makes ill-explained leaps without the 18+ patch.

Through it's main plot and unlockable lore, Rym 9000 builds an interesting and mysterious sci-fi world that's worth a look - even though it ultimately feels as if the best bits have been kept hidden.

With the same cast and offbeat writing of Welcome to Chichester2, the OVN suffers slightly from heavyhandedness, and more from a lack of compelling visuals. Still, a good game for any Chichester fan.

There's a lot of raw emotional power behind this presentation-game. Unfortunately, that power comes from the song and art instead of the story of Yi, which is confusing and full of omissions.
