Before Resident Evil came along with its Mansion was Alone in the Dark. It may look basic now but it is truly terrifying & still great fun to play. Awkward controls but has that retro difficulty feel

Fun reimagining of DMC. Combat is fast & fluid and there's actually a good story within for a change with nods to the current climate. There's an insane amount of difficulty levels to unlock.

Oldie but a goodie. One of the first in the FPS horror genre, just without the guns it's all melee. Genuinely creepy in parts & you never feel geared up enough to just steamroll over enemies.

More linear than the first, but better for it. A more streamlined, action packed FPS with a decent story & amazing sound design. The suit makes you feel like a super hero with a gun.

A missed opportunity. Wannabe Diablo game without the magic or soul. Might be worth a play if very, very cheap if only to hear some of the in game dialogue which is in the so bad it's good area for me

Excellent space sim. It has a learning curve but once it clicks you'll lose countless hours to it. Just not a game to play if you only have limited time, it is too big for a quick ten min session.

Get murdered at the start, then wander as a ghost to discover who actually killed you. Its a fun mechanic being able to walk through walls & the mini stories in game are creepy. Sadly overlooked.
