Cheap Stalker knock-off, combined with elements of DayZ. However rough around the edges it may be, still a fantastic game that actually delivers on what Survarium promised but never did. Hidden gem.

May have disappointed some fans due to an overreliance on the same aging engine and Bethesda's sweet little lies, Fallout 4 does impress with its settlement building and thriving modding scene.

If you combine Bethesda's open world, action, semi-RPG formula with factions and humour from Fallout 2, and sprinkle over it all some choices that come with actual consequences – you get New Vegas.

Hard to recommend for two reasons: firstly, it returned to an old series in a style that was very different – secondly, Bethesda failed to recreate the tone of the originals. Overall nice game though.

A perfect sequel, one that is bigger and better than its predecessor. By many still considered the best instalment in the entire series, Fallout 2 should be experienced by all fans of the apocalypse.

The game that started it all – an absolute classic and must-play for fans of CRPGs, inspired by awesome cinema (films such as "Mad Max" and "A Boy and His Dog"). Aged quite a bit though.

Though not quite as astonishing as SoC, yet so much more stable and polished than CS, Call of Pripyat is the most mechanically sound and well-designed of all three Stalker games. Play it.

Hard to fully recommend when SoC and CoP are clearly better – Clear Sky was a decent game, but at release it was also the most buggy and unstable of the lot. Still worth checking out for fans.

GSC's first mutated baby; without this, there would be no Metro 2033 game (and if there would be then it would look very different). Rough around the edges, but damn me if it isn’t bloody fantastic.

Sequel to the marvellous Metro 2033, it thoroughly modified the formula to be more accessible and placed a greater focus on exploration. Still amazing, but less unforgiving. Redux has all DLC.
