Fixed camera angles might be 'paying homage' but the horror genre has moved on. An off putting reverse difficulty curve but it gets better the more you play, with some nice puzzles and atmosphere.

incredibly forgettable horror/adventure game that is also incredibly brief. The story isn't very original and there's no atmosphere or scares. Decent gore and pixel art but puzzles are fairly basic.

A bleak but engaging & emotional survival sim with a striking visual style and great sound design. The game is split between some fairly basic base building & resource gathering trips. Frustrating RNG

A bare minimum remaster of an iconic game. Grim shines in it's writing and aesthetic. A great little noir story with a supernatural twist full of humour and heart. The puzzles are occasionally obtuse.

JRPG lite with cyberpunk trappings. This short game has some nice pixel art and a decent soundtrack but is otherwise unexceptional and entirely forgettable. Maybe appeal to first time JRPG gamers.

Really nice atmosphere & world building with solid turn-based combat that relies a lot on stealth and placement. Battles do get a little easy and samey towards the end, and the story is anticlimactic.

A delightfully challenging and innovative puzzle game that requires you to use both observational and deductive reasoning skills in a wholly unique way. The organic storytelling is pretty great too.

Feels incredibly dated & clunky in terms of movement and controls but the core gameplay of exploration and collection is compelling. A rather ugly and incoherent visual style, but worth it if on sale.

If it wasn't for the lovely visual style, fantastic music & uniquely narrated story, Bastion would be a fairly forgettable and shallow action RPG. The presentation makes it fairly compelling though.
