Many modern games that do pixel graphics end up with partially-overlapping pixels, and it's bad and distracting. Balatro, the excellent game it is, doesn't have this problem, and is beautiful. 10/10

A short, polished metroidvania! The graphics, writing, and sounds are all wonderful and authentic. The difficulty spikes for bosses; if you beat the early Hollow Knight bosses, you should be OK here.

Clearly inspired by Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, but adds some interesting mechanics, and a "fun first" attitude to its design. Lacks a little polish in some menus, but is a great time overall.

Wuppo perfectly does that thing where the game starts off feeling small and silly, but transforms into a sprawling, epic adventure. An adorable, challenging game, with a surprising amount of content.

A cute, short, and completely absurd Zelda-like with great writing. Combat is the weakest part (controls & hitboxes feel like they could have been tightened), but it's still a very enjoyable game! :)

this game isn't gonna blow your mind, like Shovel Knight, or The Messenger, but not every game has to. Kamiko is a fun, short, pixelated, action-adventure game with lovely graphics, and good music.

Silk is a trading game with a large world, cool party-building mechanics, and graphics reminiscent of early first-person PC RPGs. I don't really get into trading games, but if you do, give Silk a try.

this feels like a Nintendo game from the N64 or Game Cube era, with lovely music, cute graphics and dialog, and lots to explore and find, even after beating the "main game".

I need to acknowledge Wargroove on this list: graphics and sounds are great, gameplay seems deep, and it has great reviews. I don't happen to quite enjoy this brand of tactics, but if you do, try it!
