Older but gold naval gameplay - fly aircraft on strikes, set up a CAP for your fleet, hunt subs with a destroyer, direct a fleet engagement or duel with battleships! Slightly gamey but 100% worth it!

Despite being relatively unknown and holding a questionable view of the war, Syrian Warfare is an excellent and difficult RTS (once you get it working!). Plays like a modern Sudden Strike game. 8/10.

BIA: Hell's Highway continues the series' unique squad gameplay - use your fire teams to effectively suppress & assault enemy positions. A fun story, good AI and decent gunplay makes it a must have.

HIND offers a simple but fun foray into rotary wing CAS. Controls are a bit tricky (joystick helps), but fun once you get the hang of it. Big explosions and many missions to play. Get it on sale.

Possibly the best campaign of any modern shooter, based on a true story. Fluid gunplay, decent visuals, and a balance of different missions make this a must have. Will keep drawing you back to replay!

The sequel to Insurgency couldn't be better! Despite moving to UE4, the feel of the gameplay has only improved. Kicking down doors has never been more fluid: the sounds, lights and weapons feel right!

Be prepared to communicate! Excellent gunplay & content make this noteworthy, but it's the tactics & platoon comms that makes it stand out: working together to suppress and assault is very satisfying.

Old but gold. The orignial Wargame lacks some of the finesse, but makes up for it with a solid singleplayer campign, whose scripted missions fix the worst of the AI. However, for multiplayer go to RD.

WWIII in Scandinavia. ALB brings more of the RTS we all love, with some great maps, vast unit choices and still some community. The co-op campaigns really make the game and are sorely missed in RD!

Slow motion gore with stunning visuals. Africa feels bright & maps feel organic - excellent optimisation brings it to life. Shooting mechanics work, although wind & bullet drop is overdone. Must play!
