Fancy yourself the town mayor of a sprawling metropolis of your own design? Pick up Cities: Skylines. Just keep an eye on a clock, or you might find that you lost an entire day to this addictive game.

Aven Colony is a capable sci-fi city-builder with great visuals and satisfying gameplay systems. The different alien landscapes do provide some welcome variety, but you'll exhaust it quickly.
