End User License Agreement — Campaign Forge
This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is between you, the player ("you"), and Daedalus ("we," "us"), the developer and publisher of Campaign Forge (the "Game"). It applies in addition to the Steam Subscriber Agreement ("SSA"); where this Agreement is silent, the SSA governs. By installing or playing the Game, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or play the Game.
1. License. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and play the Game for your own personal, non-commercial entertainment, in accordance with the SSA. We retain all rights not expressly granted.
2. AI-Generated Content. The Game can generate content — such as worlds, regions, characters, dialogue, and quests — using artificial intelligence, through the local AI model bundled with the Game or, optionally, a local AI model server you run yourself. You understand and agree that:
AI output is generated automatically and is provided "as is." It may be unexpected, inaccurate, or unsuitable, and we do not guarantee its accuracy, quality, originality, or appropriateness.
You are responsible for the prompts and inputs you provide and for the content you choose to generate — in particular if you replace the bundled model with your own model, whose behavior and safety training we do not control.
You must not use the Game to knowingly generate content that is illegal or that infringes the intellectual-property or other rights of any third party. We take reasonable steps to reduce this risk (a content policy is applied to every AI request regardless of which model serves it, and generation is limited to structured game data), but you remain responsible for how you use the Game.
Generated content is stored locally within your own single-player game. You are responsible for any generated content you choose to export, publish, or share outside the Game.
3. Self-Hosted AI Models. The Game can optionally connect to a local, OpenAI-compatible model server that you host and control yourself (for example LM Studio or llama.cpp). We do not provide, operate, or charge for such servers, and we are not responsible for the models you choose to run on them. The Game's content policy is applied to every request it sends, but the output behavior of a model you supply is your responsibility.
4. Your Data. The Game does not require an account with us and does not collect personal data for us. With the bundled model, prompts and generated content are processed entirely on your own device. If you connect a self-hosted model server, prompts are sent to that server, which you control. Your saves and settings are stored on your own device.
5. Creation Tools & User Content. The Game includes tools that let you create and modify content. You are responsible for content you create with these tools and for ensuring it does not infringe third-party rights or violate applicable law or Steam's rules.
6. No Warranty. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Game and all generated content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. This does not exclude or limit any statutory warranty or consumer rights that cannot be excluded under the law applicable to you (for example, mandatory rights under EU and German consumer-protection law).
7. Limitation of Liability. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Game or from AI-generated content. Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intent or gross negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
8. Changes. We may update this Agreement as the Game evolves (for example, during Early Access). Material changes will be made available with the Game; your continued use after an update means you accept the updated Agreement.
