The 2nd TOXIKK ESL EU CUP had yet again some awesome matches, with a special focus on the duels between HardyRah and Yatja: Both contestants met in the winner bracket finals, where Yatja was victorious. HardyRah then fought his way through the loser bracket, only to meet Yatja once again in the final which was played "best of 3".

Now, before you simply take a look at the final results, we recommend watching the final here with a great live commentary by WinD which really adds to the dense action of the finals. Some truly awesome fights. If you have a heart for Arena FPS, especially the first duel will suck you right in.

Yay... another patch with fresh features & fixes:

01 - Borderless window display mode: "Allow borderless window" feature which switches to borderless mode if a fullscreen resolution is used. (thanks to PredatH0r and Chatouille)

02 - Since the last patch admins weren't able to use the addbots and killbots commands anymore...fixed

03 - Spectator got kicked from the server during travel if there were no players left on that server..fixed

04 - Pickup action netcode fixes: If pickups spawned while someone sits on it, it did not play the pickupsounds...occasionally the item did not disappear (phantom powerups) - This should be fixed

05 - Main-Menu news feed to keep you updated: We can now stream news messages (upcoming events, hints etc.) to the main menu from an external text file

06 - people with special characters like "/:?,=# in their Steam nick occasionally had issues joining matches. Those characters are now getting stripped automatically.

07 - fixed zombie and empty steam player slots which prevent joining/inviting games (should have been fixed last patch already...hopefully now)

08 - 3 player ArchRivals bug: Happened if a third person joined right in the moment the match begun - Should be fixed now

09 - If Toxikk was exited while the global chat was still connecting, the Toxikk process was kept alive (could only get killed in the taskmanager). - Fixed

10 - Server details now display spectators and next rivals (ArchRivals) separately from active players.

11 - Goal score and time limit wasn't correctly advertised by the game so it was wrong displayed by external serverbrowsers..fixed

12 - BuddyKill mutator (friendly fire) was not working...fixed

13 - if only those videoptions (maxfps, gamma, Fov) were changed, the "apply" button did not appear... Was broken since 1.0.7 ... fixed

14 - New feature: "unfocused audio" option which lets the game keep playing the sound if the game is not focused (default on) - audiooptions are now in a sepperate ini file and reverted (thanks to PredatH0r and Chatouille)

After more people asking for a recurring shootout night, we shall revive ye good ol' FRIDAY FRAG FEST, starting THIS Friday, January 20.

Last time we did this (during Early Access), we kinda over-complicated things a bit by setting exact launch times for EU and US... This time we simply say that F3 launches twice EVERY FRIDAY: Once during EU early evening hours and again at US evening hours. So, no matter where you live, you can't miss it.

WHEN: Every Friday, starting Jan. 20.
Evening hours EU and US (starts twice)

Our first EU Community Cup started a bit bumpy with some mis-configured servers (wrong goal scores... *meh*), but turned out to be great fun.

Winner and loser brackets played a total of 51 matches over a little more than five hours.

The matches were dominated by PredatH0r, Anub1ss, Archon0003, chortas, Dr. Hazard, Emmemad, Spartan195 and our French friend Chatouille who crushed the cup with an impressive no-lose series. He also made France great again with a flawless victory in the finals against South-Africa based Archon0003 (wait, this was supposed to be an EU Cup?).

Congratulations to Chatouille for the outstanding performance!

With this being our first cup, we totally forgot to take care of proper streaming of the matches. So, thanks to PredatH0r for helping out and streaming a lot of the matches.

Coming up next is the TOXIKK ESL US Community Cup in early February. We don't have the exact date nailed yet, but will announce it as soon as it's set (We consider sending Chatouille from France to the US to totally take over that event too).

Our first EU Community Cup started a bit bumpy with some mis-configured servers (wrong goal scores... *meh*), but turned out to be great fun.
