We are about to make one of the most important announcements that we have ever made since the inception of this project...
The Game is DONE!!!
You done read that right! Right now we are putting this bad boy through regression testing, longevity testing, audio testing, stress testing (I kicked Matt's computer in a controlled environment a few times), and MORE!
We always love to hear your thoughts and feedback!
New Configuration Tool! (Really Configs!)
The Land of Eyas now has its own configuration tool for setting it into windowed mode, full screen mode, different resolutions, and VSync mode!
Mechanics and Mechanics, and... Mechanics! (Oh, My!)
Every stage has received the attention that it deserves to make this the best game that you have ever played, and the mechanics are no exception. The game now has teleports, checkpoints, multiple in-hand seer stone collection, and the list goes on. We even created a new title menu that is accessible from the options screen! All of these additions to the game have made it incredible, and the feedback has never been more positive. This is all thanks to you!
Attention ALL backers! (We mean you.) You get early access to the game one week before the release (if you do not have it already). We will release this summer with an exact date coming soon!
$150+ backers – Matthew Kiehl's art reproductions have been sent! Thank you to everyone who responded with all the kind words about Matthew's artwork. He thoroughly enjoyed putting them together for you!
$250+ backers – Your character sheets have been sent! Please get them back as soon as you can. You will have up to a year to provide us with a response, but the sooner you get them back the sooner you can see your own personal contribution to the game! Thanks again to everyone who contributed to this tier! You guys are awesome!
We will announce once your character has been integrated (which can take place after the release date).
More announcements to follow about the Power (box set) Edition!
I would like to apologize for our long and drawn out period of silence. We want everyone to know that with all of us working nine-to-five jobs, some of us with children, and working nights and weekends that it has been very hard to put these very exciting updates together. But rest assured that the reason for our silence is because we have been working our tuches-es off. This has been an extremely challenging project and completely worth it because of you guys!
One More Thing!
Before we go, we have some exciting news to announce. We now have a distributor - Rising Star Games!!!
As you may already know, Rising Star Games is a distributor of top-notch games, such as Deadly Premonition, TRI, Cloudbuilt, and many others. This is seriously a huge honor to have bestowed upon us and they have become invaluable during the marketing process.
One of the most difficult things to achieve in game design is creating an experience that is intuitive and fun to jump into but still carries progressive depth and excitement throughout the entire game without feeling repetitive. Through some form of wizardry Happy Square Productions have demonstrated their masterful ways with their debut title, The Land of Eyas.
Opposing gravities is the foundation on which they have created the charming tale of young Eyas searching for a way Home. Magically, The Land of Eyas takes this immediately fun mechanic and continues to present new thoughtful challenges through ingenious level design. Pairing these puzzles with adorable artwork and a sensational musical production appeases both the head and heart. The Land of Eyas is a gem crafted by a team of talented and enchanting people at Happy Square Productions and we just cannot wait to bring it to Steam this Summer.

Rising Star Games to Bring Ingenious Gravity Switching Action Platformer to PC and Mac
Los Angeles, CA – March 10, 2016 – Rising Star Games, a video game publisher renowned for bringing unique and diverse games to players everywhere, has announced a new partnership with Happy Square Productions to publish The Land of Eyas on PC, Mac, and Linux. Combining lovable 2D visuals with gravity-based platform mechanics, gamers will use two opposing gravities to explore an enchanted world, experience huge sling-shot momentum jumps, and avoid dangerous enemies and obstacles in search for a way Home.
“The fine folks at Rising Star Games are stellar promo experts that give indie game titles the star power and attention that they deserve,” said Stephen Hoskins, founder of Happy Square Productions. “They disconnect the extremely arduous and time consuming tasks of promoting games from developers, delivering well-coordinated strategies designed to showcase the joyful greatness of indie games. The gamer community is in for a jolt of indie gaming goodness thanks to Rising Star Games.”
“Innovative, unique game experiences like The Land of Eyas are a great example why indie games are so special”, said Martin Defries, managing director of Rising Star Games. “When players experience The Land of Eyas they’ll find a unique platforming treasure that will challenge in new, exciting ways while captivating gamers with its delightful art style and story.”
In The Land of Eyas, gamers take on the role Eyas, a little boy wearing an oddly-styled cat outfit, who is caught in a world split between two opposing gravities. To find his way Home, Eyas has to learn how to navigate the strangely beautiful world using the opposing gravitational forces and the objects he interacts with along the way. On his journey, he is guided by tree wisps that direct him to find the one they call Mother. By manipulating jumps between the different gravity fields, Eyas will be able to use the additional momentum to sling-shot to new heights and access new areas.
Developed by the indie developer Happy Square Productions, The Land of Eyas will be available this Summer on Steam and selected digital retailers. For more information, follow Rising Star Games on Twitter and visit the official Rising Star Games website.
Our buddies at Burrito Studio are working on Highlands, a turn based strategy game with RPG elements and an awesome hand drawn art style. It takes a big inspiration from the board game Risk and it's something that the team at HSP are looking forward to!
