We're pleased to announce that Update v1.13 is available to download on Steam NOW, featuring the Mazda MX5 NA and the Mazda 787B as FREE bonus content. But that's not all! Update v1.13 also natively brings the long-awaited OpenVR / VIVE support (beta) and some fixes for Oculus users, as well as many new multiplayer features, including reversed grid races and mandatory pits with pit stops strategy presets! Check out the following changelog for all the improvement and fixes!

Update v1.13
- New Porsche 911 RSR 2017 for Porsche Pack 3
- New Mazda MX-5 Miata NA
- New Mazda 787B: mod skins made for the original 787B mod will need to be updated using the new template
- Added OpenVR/Vive support (beta)
- Fixed Mazda MX-5 ND setup ride height false indication
- Fixed Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV gearbox damage
- Adjusted Lotus 72D and Ferrari 312T tyre compound wear and heat ranges
- Fixed Flag rendering for VR
- Fixed colour balance for emissive items (lights+digital) when Post Processing is turned off
- Added downshift protection alert (can be disabled through the launcher options)
- All GT2/GTE cars default to Medium tyres now (also for AI)

- Added Pitstop arrows to DirectInput Dpad: bind to the wheel dPad: can be overidden by controls.ini [ADVANCED]DPAD_INDEX_OVERRIDE=0
- Added Pitstop quickmenu + Setup pitstop strategy: this can be custumized and disabled by system/cfg/pitstop.ini [SETTINGS]USE_MOUSE_PITSTOP=0
- Updated Fanatec library to support new wheel bases.
- Fixed possible CPU warning when player gets retired.

Multiplayer Features
- Added reversed grid races: The race session will be restarted in reversed grid order based on the standings of the previous race. Players disqualified in the first race will start from the back of the grid in the second race, regardless of their position being within the reversed grid range.
- Added locked entry list in pickup mode: same as in booking mode, only players already included in the entry list can join the server (password not needed).
- Added car Steam ID sharing in entry list: each car in the entry list can feature multiple GUIDs. Players can share that car (one at once). The name inserted in the entry list is used as driver name.
- Fixed server result log not displaying invalid laps.
- Fixed end-of-race session status for lapped players in lap races.
- Added Mandatory Pit: A pit window can be added to the race session. As a design choice, players need to stop at their pit box within the pit window to have a valid pit stop. Players with pit boxes further down the pitlane need to take this into account before deciding on their strategy. Players may make additional pit stops before and after the pit window, but only making a mandatory stop in the indicated pit window will validate their race. Server admins must decide on a pit window that allows all players, regardless of their pit box position, to comfortably make a pit stop under normal racing conditions.
- Updated Shared Memory

Featuring all-new FREE bonus content, including the Audi Sport quattro S1 E2, as well as our home made Highlands track! The perfect track doesn’t exist. That’s why we created one.

AUDI QUATTRO S1 E2
Introduced back in 1984, the Audi Sport quattro S1 E2 revolutionized rallying. Just like the other manufacturers, Audi used the lenient homologation requirements to create a new rally car. All the car maker needed for homologation was a production run of a mere 200 cars.
Blomqvist's spectacular, sideways driving style suited the Sport quattro perfectly. By flicking the tail out, the Swede overcame the natural understeer of the nose-heavy Audi. He won five of the twelve rounds and was crowned the 1984 World Champion. Mikkola and Roehrl also won a round, which was enough to clinch the constructor's trophy.

HIGHLANDS LAYOUTS
The perfect track doesn’t exist.
That’s why we created one.

Highlands - The original layout, 8152 meters long, filled with fast flowing path with curves and several jumps.

Highlands Long - An extension of the original layout, 12191 meters long and has all the characteristics of the original layout. This layout features some slower curves, a fast series of left and right turns, after a passage between rocks and the distinctive 3km long "Cabhag straight"

Highlands Drift - A configuration born to create long powerslides with supercars and hypercars. At 5167 meters long, this layout features long, flat and smooth curves, perfect for holding a constant power slide. The "tower lùb", guards the surroundings at the top of the hill.

Highlands Short - The shortest configuration, only 1714 meters, but based entirely inside the city. Incredibly intense and requires the concentration of a pro.

All four layouts share the same starting positions and pit lane, as well as the first corner and final 2 corners.

FIXES INCLUDE
* Improved and updated V10 tyre model for all cars available
* Improved and updated cars handling and chassis balance and inertia for all cars available
* Brake fade for all vintage cars
* Improved tyre wear and tyre graining algorithms taking more into account the load operation for each tyre.
* General bug fixes and corrections and improvements all around.
* Fanatec Leds and display now supported

Respecting what is now a very long tradition at Kunos Simulazioni, we are glad to introduce as part of our latest DLC a significant update to the overall build of Assetto Corsa. Reaching version 1.9, we welcome another piece of free bonus content, the brand new and recently unveiled Porsche Panamera G2 Turbo, the latest luxury saloon model manufactured by Porsche. As you can see it in the complete changelog below, the update continues the process of bringing general improvements to the core game in all areas, incorporating the precious feedback and suggestions of a community that is becoming larger day after day. One of the most relevant upgrades of this build involves the audio environment, taking advantage of the updating of FMod libraries:

the development team has reworked FMod interaction within the game, optimizing memory and CPU usage and improving the entire sfx engine, resulting in a much better sound environment and immersion.

If you wish to learn more about it, please visit the following URL: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/fmod-official-project-v1-9.37827/

In addition to the plethora of audio updates, other improvements extend to introducing the official Sparco licence with brand new driver suit and glove textures and a reworked texture assignment system, race ending, live Time Table leaderboard in the pits and other additions to the Lap Time board, splits and Anti-Wrecker protection in Multiplayer mode, updating all GT3 cars to tyre model 10, AI improvements and numerous other improvements across the entire game engine, including graphics as well as physics.

Assetto Corsa 1.9 welcomes the first of the three free bonus Porsche cars that will be released within 2016, introducing the Porsche Panamera Turbo, a car that with Porsche test and development driver Lars Kern at the wheel completed a lap around the 20.832-kilometre long Nürburgring Nordschleife in only seven minutes and 39 seconds. The new Porsche Panamera reconciles two contrasting characteristics more than ever before: the performance of a genuine sports car and the comfort of a luxury saloon. It is a Gran Turismo that has been rethought and realigned. The second generation of the Panamera is advancing to become a performance icon of the luxury class.

We are also glad to announce that the historic version of the Silverstone circuit is finally available as free bonus content for all Assetto Corsa users, a remarkable addition that will please all fans of historic content already available in Assetto Corsa. The classic Silverstone is a circuit that perfectly matches some of the new legendary Porsche cars included in the Porsche Pack Vol.1. The 1967 version of the track was used between 1952 and 1974, with the overall layout kept largely unaltered for nearly 38 years. This piece of motorsport history hosted fierce competition between racing heroes such as Graham Hill, Jack Brabham, Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart and Jackie Ickx.

Assetto Corsa 1.9 is available on PC Steam today, and on PS4 and XBox One in November. Please read the changelog to learn more about the overall list of updates.

We kindly inform those who might be interested in purchasing the Season Pass that it is available for purchase.

Those who purchase the Season Pass will receive 3 add-on packs (7 cars each) for a single discounted price. The packs include a total of 21 Porsche unique car models, featuring all of the new 2016 Porsche line-up from both the car maker's production and legendary motorsport departments.

Vaguely aware that we’re living in a race sim golden age? Not sure which of the ‘Big Six’ you should invest your precious time and money in? Me too! Hopefully, by the time the inaugural Flare Path GP is over (Oct 14) little of that bewilderment will remain. Guided by the preferences and observations of that section of the RPS community that knows and loves realistic Cars Wot Go Fast games, it shouldn’t be hard to find a high-quality race sim that suits you and me to a GT. … [visit site to read more]

The new build of Assetto Corsa offers a sensible amount of updates and new features asked by the simracing community, with the aim to offer a plenty of new options and keep the good path of improvements seen until today from the very first release.

One of the most wanted updates, included in the build 1.7, is the introduction of jump starts, that allows the drivers to perform a false start resulting in diverse selectable penalties.

Tyre model improvements and v10
The new build also introduces improvements of the current v7 tyre model, with tyre temperatures being more sensitive to initial tyre pressures, improvements in the realigning force and more. Furthermore, as an additional proof of KUNOS commitment to realistic physics, we introduce the new tyre model v10 for some of the new RedPack cars. The new tyre model follows the handling philosophy of KUNOS and offers a very similar driving feel, but at the same time is a complete rewrite that permits us to validate much better our results with real life data, hence the jump from v7 to v10. All Assetto Corsa cars will be eventually updated to the new tyre model, in the following months.

Introducing brake temperatures for some of the RedPack cars.
Assetto Corsa now simulates brake temperatures. Following our tradition of step by step evolution, some cars from the RedPack have now brake temperature. In the following months, we will add more features like air ducts and pads and all Assetto Corsa cars will be updated with brake temperatures and their effects.

Power Unit.
MGU-K, MGU-H, ICE with variable Turbo, Batteries charging and energy deployment
Another KUNOS tradition is to update the physics engine with new features, every time we have a new car with very specific characteristics. RedPack includes the Ferrari F138 and SF15-T. The F138 features a typical KERS system that can be simulated very well by our existing hybrid simulation, as seen in the LaFerrari and McLaren P1. Nevertheless the F138 required a maximum energy deployment per lap feature, as well as a bypass button. Both features are now simulated in Assetto Corsa and this permitted also an update of the McLaren P1 that now includes a push to pass button.
On the other hand the SF15-T has the new power unit with a very complex ERS system. The system includes an MGU-K with specific charge and deploy energy values, various profiles of energy deployment, different levels of energy charging, active rear braking pressure, MGU-H for energy harvesting from the Turbo that can be directed to the batteries or to the MGU-K, and different ICE engine braking levels. It has been a very intense period of research and implementation but everything has been coded and simulated in Assetto Corsa and it is available through keys and driving buttons for all Assetto Corsa users to configure!

Physics features commands are now configurable on keyboard and controllers.
Relevant features like Traction Control, ABS, Turbo, MGU-K, MGU-H, Engine brake etc, can be configured on the gaming device, and on the keyboard.

AI improvements, multiplayer improvements
The update includes new artificial intelligence algorithms, improving overtaking manoeuvres; also, now AI drivers are much more variable in performance during a single lap and during a session.
New experimental multiplayer code (selectable from server manager) that greatly reduces bandwidth usage and improves quality. Fixed setups can now be saved and loaded.

More improvements in various other aspects of Assetto Corsa as for example, pitstop time requirements improvements and others, are described in the changelog.

Assetto Corsa REDPACK

KUNOS Simulazioni and 505 Games are proud to present the "RED PACK", the DLC package for ASSETTO CORSA that includes seven legendary Italian sports cars and Austria’s RedBull Ring circuit.
Since the birth of modern motorsports, Red has historically been the colour of choice for Italian Manufacturers & competitive teams. In keeping with that theme, the RED PACK includes some of the most wanted cars from the most iconic italian Factories, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati!

The CARS:
Ferrari SF-15T
Ferrari F138
Ferrari 488 GT3
Maserati 250F 6C
Maserati 250F T2 12C
Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4
Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce

The TRACK:
Spielberg REDBULL Ring Circuit

The Ferrari SF15-T is the first Ferrari GP car to debut for ASSETTO CORSA, it is the second car made by Ferrari since the reintroduction of turbo engines in 2014. The red single seater has been reproduced in cooperation with Ferrari.
The Ferrari F138 (originally known as the Ferrari F2013, and sometimes referred to by its project number, the Ferrari 664) is a Formula One racing car designed and built by Scuderia Ferrari for use in the 2013 Formula One season. It was driven by two-times World Champion Fernando Alonso and his team-mate Felipe Massa. The chassis was named F138 to represent the year that it would be raced in, 2013, and to mark the final season that Formula One would use V8 engines.
The Maserati 250F took part of Formula One racing between January 1954 and November 1960, when rules allowed 2.5 liter unsupercharged or 750 cc supercharged engines.
Maserati went with the former, chosing a straight six aspirated engine configuration; in 1956 it mounted a V12 engine.
With a quite roomy cockpit, Maserati 250F featured a 4 gears transmission (plus reverse) and Continental fashion pedals arrangement: clutch, throttle and brake in this order.
The Ferrari 488 GT3 is the the racing version of the latest 488 GTB, presented at the Ferrari Finali Mondiali, as replacement for the 458 Italia. This car features large side intakes to provide a better air flow to its twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8.
With increased power, lower weight, improved aerodynamics and innovative technologies the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce is the most pure incarnation of a Lamborghini to date: unmistakable Lamborghini super sports car DNA, dynamic superiority and exceptional driving precision.
A focus on weight reduction while incorporating innovative technologies has resulted in the most sports-oriented, fastest and most emotional series production Lamborghini ever. The weight has been further reduced by 50 kg through enhanced lightweight engineering including significant use of carbon fiber. The naturally aspirated V12 engine's power is increased to 750 hp. This results in a power-to-weight-ratio of 2,03 kg/hp. The Superveloce accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and powers on to reach a top speed of more than 350 km/h.
After the experience with Trofeo Series, Maserati is ready to push the GranTurismo MCs into a new challenge: the international GT4 series.
The modifications needed for GT4 homologation mainly concern the engine and aerodynamics. The car's overall technical make-up will be unchanged: the 4700cc engine, electro-actuated transmission with paddle-shift commands and a kerb weight of 1410 kg will stay. The fitting of an air scoop will reduce the car's power output to 430 bhp from its current 488 bhp while a newly-designed rear spoiler and modified diffuser will bring the car's performance into line with that of the other GT4 cars.
The RedBull Ring has been reproduced for Assetto Corsa to the highest level of detail through the use of laserscan technology.

The Circuit of RedBull Ring
Due to its complexity, it took nine months of work to reproduce the Circuit of Catalunya. Laser Scanning Technology allowed the team to recreate the most faithful version of the Spanish track available in any racing game to date.
For the first time ever in a PC racing simulation, the Circuit of Spielberg has been digitally recreated using Laser Scanning Technology. The resulting accuracy combined with the advanced physics model of Assetto Corsa offers an unprecedented driving experience blurring even more the difference between virtual racing and reality.
