Remember Me Bundle

As is their wont, the chaps behind the latest Humble 'Massive Publisher' Bundle have made it that bit sweeter, adding Resident Evil 4 and Remember Me to the Capcom Bundle, which was already tempting.

You'll have to beat the average (currently $9.07) to net them both, alongside Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil Revelations and the excellent Devil May Cry reboot. Fork up $15 and you'll also get the Untold Stories DLC for RE5, plus Street Fighter 4.

If none of those appeal, paying just $1 gets you Strider, Resident Evil Revelations 2, Lost Planet 3 and Bionic Commando Rearmed. Phew! I've lost count of the amount of games I've picked up in bundles that are gathering virtual dust in my steam library. Still, it's worth it for all the times I've had a random urge to play something and discovered I already own it.

The port of RE5 was a massive improvement over the initial release of RE4, but this looks like 2014's improved HD re-release. If like me you've never actually played any of the games in the series, this seems like a good opportunity to jump in. Remember Me is also worth checking out: its time travel mechanics inspired the same team to make Life is Strange—the final episode of which came out yesterday.

I love how everything about the humble bundles over the years has got less and less humble. It's kinda hard to be when last year you raised $50 million for charity alone, and goodness knows how much more since then given their relentless expansion. Not that I'm complaining: everyone seems to be winning.

Capcom still has a pretty good hit rate, and that's why the latest Humble Bundle is so appealing. It discounts many of their recent hits including the DMC reboot, Ultra Street Fighter IV, and *cough* Resident Evil 5, offering them up for practically nothing. On top of that, the $1 tier is the best I've seen for ages. Chucking a single simoleon Humble's way will get you Strider, the first episode of Resident Evil: Revelations 2, Bionic Commando: Rearmed, and Lost Planet 3, which isn't quite as bad as people like to make out.

You might want to beat the average to get Resi Revelations 1, DmC, Resi 5 and some other, unannounced games. You might want to stump up $15 for Ultra SFIV and some Resi 5 DLC as well.

And, if you're a repeat Humbler, you might want to keep an eye on its upcoming monthly subscription program, which will offer a new set of free games every lunar cycle.

Following up on last week's Lost Planet 3 update for PC, we have one additional update for you LPers.

It has come to our attention that first-time purchasers of Lost Planet 3 are experiencing issues saving the CAMPAIGN data; MULTIPLAYER and settings data is unaffected. An additional issue in which HD movies are not played back when installed has been found. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and are currently working on providing an update within the next few days. In the meantime CAMPAIGN data can be correctly saved by following the steps illustrated below.

1. Open the file path \UserProfile\Documents\My Games\LostPlanetGame\LostPlanetGame (UserProfile is PC dependent)

2. Create a folder named "SaveData" without the quotes inside of the "LostPlanetGame" folder opened in step 1.

3. Start the CAMPAIGN mode to successfully save data.

We're happy to report that the migration of the online service for Lost Planet 3 (PC Version) is nearing completion, and a downloadable update is scheduled to go live on Steam this Thursday, July 10th at 1:00am PT. The migration to a new server will unfortunately reset MULTIPLAYER leaderboards and the CINEMATIC GALLERY. CAMPAIGN difficulty will also default to Normal difficulty.

Please note that Item Sphere related achievements for which the unlock conditions have already been met in the current save data, will be unlocked upon importing the save data to Steam Cloud and accessing the Item Sphere. Campaign related achievements, including those related to difficulty will need to be acquired by replaying through the campaign. We apologize for any inconvenience.

For those Lost Planet 3 users who already have Save Data and would like to take advantage of the Steam Cloud and Steam Achievements, please follow these instructions for importing Save Data to Steam Cloud.

1. Right click on Lost Planet 3 under the Steam Library.

2. Select properties.

3. Select SET LAUNCH OPTIONS from the GENERAL tab.

4. Enter the following line without quotes, and then select OK.

“ImportGS=YOURGAMESPYPROFILENAME.profile”*

5. Start Lost Planet 3.

6. Select MULTIPLAYER from the main menu.

7. Confirm that your data has been imported via RECORDS in the MULTIPLAYER menu, or the Progression Sphere in a game lobby.

8. Upon confirmation, select EXIT GAME.

9. Erase the line entered in Step 4.

Note, Steam Cloud data will continue to be overwritten by previous save data upon starting the game if this line is not erased.

10. Start Lost Planet 3.

* Step 4 line example and notes:

1. In an example in which the GameSpy profile name is “Capcom”, the line to be entered without quotes is “ImportGS=Capcom.profile”.

2. Please take care to enter all capital and lower case letters properly.

3. For those users who wish to confirm their GameSpy profile name, it can be found as a GameSpyProfileName.profile file in the following local address:

Documents\My Games\LostPlanetGame\LostPlanetGame\SaveData

Companies are continuing to detail their plans for handling the GameSpy shutdown, and now it's Capcom's turn. Lost Planet 3, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, and Marvel vs Capcom Origins will all be more-or-less fine, while others aren't quite so lucky.
