BUG FIXES :

 • Buildings were disabled on Ragnarok in conquest mode, because the "blocks" were missing. Fixed.

 • When drawing a line of front (drag&drop right click), units were sometimes facing the wrong direction. They will now always face "forward", the "left" flank of the front being where you started to drag the line, and the "right" being where you dropped it.

 • When drawing a line of front, infantry ghosts were mistakenly hidden for a short period of time. Fixed.

After invading PCs all over the world in May, Wargame AirLand Battle, the successor to Wargame European Escalation and the new real-time strategy hit from developers Eugen Systems that won enthusiastic acclaim from gamers and critics alike, now opens its Early Access Beta for Mac and Linux!

Steam players may now download the Linux and Mac early access beta versions of Wargame AirLand Battle on Steam, giving them immediate access to both solo and multiplayer. The multiplayer mode being PC/Mac/Linux cross-platform compatible, they will even be able to face or team with the numerous players already playing the PC version. Moreover, the Early Access Beta will automatically transform into the full version when the game officially releases on Mac and Linux next week.

It is also worth noting that current PC players of Wargame AirLand Battle may, if they wish so, download for free the Mac and Linux versions of the game if they own a compatible computer!

There are oversights on RPS. I’d be the first to admit it. We didn’t review Wargame: Airland Battle, and we should have done. We still might! We should. I should>. In fact, here’s a capsule review from the few hours I spent with it: it’s a fine RTS. Better, I would say, that Eugen’s previous games, Act Of War, and RUSE, the latter of which we enjoyed so much, or its immediate predecessor, European Escalation. Anyway, Eugen Systems have sent word that the new DLC for Wargame is going to be free. It makes all of the campaign missions co-op, there’s a new multiplayer mode, there are new units, five new multiplayer maps, and there’s a great range of options in skirmish setups. Eugen explain: “the first free DLC from Wargame AirLand Battle, has been developed specifically to respond to the demands of the community.” If the demands were: “give us a load of cool extra stuff for free”, then I think the might have got it right. VOX POPULI, the first free DLC from Wargame AirLand Battle, has been developed specifically to respond to the demands of the community… and has just landed with a whole arsenal of new features!

“CONQUEST” mode makes a great comeback in Multiplayer mode and against the AI, offering a range of new objectives to commanders all over the world. Unlike DESTRUCTION mode, victory in CONQUEST doesn’t depend on the destruction of the enemy forces, but on your ability to capture and hold more territory than your opponent. All the existing maps in Multiplayer are of course playable in this mode.

In addition to this new game mode, CAMPAIGN, already playable in Versus mode, is now available in CO-OPERATIVE mode and allows you to join forces with a friend to play any campaign against the AI.

In Skirmish mode you can now select the type and nationality of the equipment of any AI opponent. Last but not least, we have introduced 24 new units and 5 new maps (playable in Destruction and Conquest modes) for even more frenzied multiplayer contests!
 • Play the brand new CONQUEST mode
 • CAMPAIGN mode playable as a Co-op game
 • 5 new Multiplayer maps
 • 24 new units (12 per faction): 6 aircraft, 7 infantry units, 9 vehicles/tanks, 2 helicopters
 • Select the type and nationality of the equipment of any AI opponent in Skirmish mode
