Community Announcements - Kimiko
Hi everyone, welcome to our Friday Update and the last day of May!

While we have been working a lot this week, there’s really not a whole lot to say in terms of updates, but this is what I’ve got!
  • The balance and mechanics update on the beta patch is going well. We’ve been getting a lot of good feedback from the community and we want you to know that we DO listen! We have started up a Balance Testing Council, which will have representatives from both the NA and EU scene to help us go over everything related to the balance and mechanics of the game.

  • In regards to the next beta update, we’ll have it out for you on Monday. With the new council, we wanted to get as much out of it as possible, so we weren’t able to get a release out today.

  • Customization will be coming soon! It’s looking really good so far! You will be able to customize your background pattern, colours (within team range) and emblems + helmets.

  • After the current beta is all done and released, we’ll be focusing on bringing the SDK + tools out to you. Thus, it will be released in the beta for you to test out after the balance and mechanics are all taken care of. Again, it will be released in the beta first and foremost. It’s happening guys! :)
See you next week!

Hello everyone!

It’s that time again for our Friday update!

~ This week has been the focus on continuing to work on the balance changes for CU1 patch 2. While we hoped to have a new update on the beta for you by today, it just wasn’t possible, but stay tuned, it will be coming soon.

~ An exciting piece of news is that this weekend is free to play Chivalry on Steam! From now until Sunday at 4pm EST, you can enjoy the game for free! The game is also discounted a whopping 66% from now until Monday at 1pm EST, so get it while it’s hot!

In order to play the game for free, you need to look in your uninstalled games in your games library, it will be grayed out and you will install it from here. Keep in mind that once the free weekend is up, you will no longer be able to play, so take advantage of the sale!

I know there has been some issues with people not being able to join the servers. This is something that is occurring on Steam’s end, but we’re trying to figure out what we can do to help lessen the load all around. What has worked for a lot of people has been to restart steam - completely end the task and restart it, then try again. I do apologize that everyone is being affected.

~ Level Designer Andrew Seyko made some 2D overhead TO maps for us, which can be found here:

~ I setup a Google+ community page for Chivalry, so be sure to add us!

~ We have a Community Events section up on our forums, where you can host your own event or contest, so either check out what we have going on already or start your own!

~ Thanks everyone for your continued support. Til’ next week!

We've got a free weekend going from now until Sunday at 4pm EST.

In addition to that, you can purchase the game at 66% off on Steam until May 27, 2013.

The free version of the game is located in your game's library. Just look for Chivalry: Medieval Warfare and install it from there (it will be grayed out). If you don't see it in your library, you need to restart steam first. Completely exit out of steam and restart it and voila!

Please make sure your PC is up-to-date and meets the minimum requirements otherwise, it will not play or work properly!

Hey everyone! Here we are again with our Friday Update (as promised!) Just to clarify, these weekly updates are communication updates - not actual game patches or anything. Some people got confused last time

This week we have been really busy and a lot of new things and features have been in the works.

First up, we have the beta app updated with CU1 Patch 2! Patch notes are listed here: Now that we have most of the team in the studio, we are a lot more productive and a lot things are able to get done faster. As you can see, it’s only been a week and a half since the last hotfix was released, so we’re doing what we can to get these patches out to you more quickly! So please go on the beta app and test out the new changes and give your feedback in our Beta Feedback Forum here: We release these patches on our beta app first, so that you can test everything out and give us your opinions, suggestions and feedback on them.

I also realize the EU beta servers appear to be down - they need to be updated and I apologize this wasn’t done before the beta was released, but this was beyond my control. They will be updated and back up shortly. Thanks for your patience!

Secondly, our forums have been getting more active lately with the release of our new section Ask TBS! Please be sure to read through the guidelines first, so you understand our process for answering questions, the time frame for answering them, and more. Basically, you can ask Torn Banner Studios anything - about us in general and our Chivalry game. It’s a great way to get our community (you!) and Torn Banner (us!) one step closer. So I recommend reading through the many questions that have already been answered. You may be pleasantly surprised (or not!).

In addition to Ask TBS!, we also have a new Community Events section located here: where all official community events as well as community hosted events and contests will be posted. So if you are interested in getting more activity and having fun with your fellow community members, then please either host an event or join one already in progress! Our first official event is currently accepting sign-ups, so come check it out here:

And finally, want to see what’s been going on at the studios and how it currently looks?

Take care!

Rock, Paper, Shotgun - (Nathan Grayson)

It is Friday. Very little is happening, because that’s how Fridays work. But there’s a reason for that: everyone’s exhausted. It’s been a long week of whatever it is you actually do, and while you’re normally some grand mover-and-shaker or titan of industry, today you’re almost out of steam. You need something to help you make it through the next few hours. Just a little> something. Let’s call it a pick-me-up. Yes, actually, let’s definitely call it that, because this Chivalry video involves armored men being plucked from terra firma’s loamy embrace and rocketed screaming into the sky against their wills. Literally screaming. If you don’t laugh yourself to the point of wheezing purple pain, you’re a better person than me.

There's already a lot to like about Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, the first-person medieval combat game from Torn Banner. But there's perhaps even more to like about this video of a bunch of people playing on a low-gravity server. Hang with it for about thirty seconds and you'll be sold.

There's a duel mode in Chivalry now, thanks to the latest update. And boy is it a doozy, or it was while in beta: take a look at Criken2 here, who shows us how to duel like a champion/idiot. For the presidents. You'll even learn advanced tactics, like psyching your enemies out and tricking them into pressing the self-destruct button.
