Community Announcements - The Behemoth

We’re hosting another Halloween Contest this year (our 9th annual!!) and we’re looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

To enter our contest just post a photo of your Behemoth related costumes or decorations in this thread on our Behemoth forums. Behemoth related games include BattleBlock Theater, Castle Crashers, Alien Hominid, Alien Hominid PDA Games, Super Soviet Missile Mastar, or Dad ‘N Me. You could even do characters based on our current game in development, Pit People!

This thread will be locked on November 2nd at 5PM PDT, so be sure to get your entries in before we close the contest. We will review the entries and on November 4th we’ll select three winners for each category: (1) Costumes; (2) Decorations. That means we’re giving out 6 prize packages!

As always, judging will be based on creativity, originality, and hilarity or ability to inspire fear. Prize packages will include a Pit People Fighter tee and commemorative Behemoth pin (available only at PAX shows we exhibit at), plus your choice of Alien Hominid HD, Castle Crashers, or BattleBlock Theater game code (if you already own all three games, then you can give it to a friend!).

  • Group entries are allowed! (Note: One prize per winning entry is awarded)
  • Your entry must be your own creation (or your group’s, parent’s, family’s).
  • Only new costumes and decoration entries will be accepted (entries that were submitted in previous years will not be eligible).
  • Cosplay images are acceptable as long as they weren’t entered in a previous contest.
  • Decorations can include pumpkin carvings, special treats, or other decorations in or outside of your abode.
  • You may enter more than once.

Need ideas?? Check out all the exemplary entries from the winners of our last Halloween contest HERE!

We try not to post too many non Castle Crashers announcements in this hub, but we're too excited for our upcoming event and really wanted to share this info:

Our Pit People Steam Closed Beta begins next week on September 28th! Pit People is our latest game in development. It's a fast-paced, turn-based, co-op adventure featuring our signature art style and humor!

If you haven’t signed up for the Steam Closed Beta, you can still register by going to

For those who Beta Tested for the Xbox One closed beta, the signup does not carry over, so you’ll need to register for the Steam Closed Beta as well. Just make sure to sign up with all the same info that you did for Xbox One and you should automatically qualify.

The Steam Beta will include all or most of the work we’ve been doing throughout the Xbox One Beta build running, so if you played the Xbox One beta last week and join us on Steam next week then you’re sure to run into new unlocks, areas, maps, balance changes and features within. A whole weapon category for humans was completely rehauled into something NEW! Whoa! See you there!

We’re excited to head back to Boston in April for Penny Arcade Expo East 2016! With lots of luck, it will be much warmer than PAX East 2015. Remember how last year we caught the tail end of Snowmageddon? Brrrrrrr. Let’s cross our fingers for sunshine and blue skies.

We’ll be back in our same location by the escalators located on the far left of the Exhibit Hall BUT our booth number has been changed to Booth 4025!

If you get lost, you can just look for our usual circular banner hanging over the booth. We’re also bringing back our Gift Shop and custom built arcade stations for our games!

PAX East attendees may recognize our Pit People dodecagon of single player arcade demo stations, our Castle Crashers Remastered arcade cabinet, and our BattleBlock Theater arcade cabinet.

New to PAX East this year:
  • Our Back Off Barbarian mini game in a new custom built arcade cabinet. This mini game is found in Castle Crashers Remastered on Xbox One and Castle Crashers for Steam.

  • Pit People co-op couches that will use our portable arcade sticks. This is the debut of our 2 player co-op demo–never before seen at any show we’ve done thus far!

If you find yourself enjoying Pit People and can’t wait for the game release, you’ll be able to sign up for our closed beta while you’re at the booth. More details to come in a future post to explain how to sign up at PAX East. Until then, you can quell your cravings for PP by getting one of our new Pit People tees:

Just a few of the fighters in Pit People.

It’ll be available at the Gift Shop at our booth for $20. Limited sizes while supplies last.

As we get closer to the show dates, we’ll have more info on other Gift Shop goodies we’re selling this year.

PAX East is about a month away now and we can’t wait to see everyone who’s going. Let us know in the comments below if you plan on attending!
