Killing Floor has just been updated to include the Twisted Christmas content!
Tripwire continues its long standing tradition of massive free content packs with the Twisted Christmas 2 Content Pack. The features an all new level, Ice Cave, as well as brand new Twisted Christmas music to get you in the holiday spirit. But wait - there's more! Santa is bringing even more gifts - the Winter Weapon Pack, with seven brand new weapons complete with new achievements, free to everyone who owns the game. Returning from last year's event we have Christmas themed specimens replacing all of the regular baddies, Santas Evil Lair, Christmas themed achievements and the chance for those who missed unlocking the special Baddest Santa character last year to grab him this time around.
The rather good co-op survival shooter, Killing Floor, will be free to play on Steam from this Thursday through Sunday, giving everyone a chance to try out the new goodies added by this year's Twisted Christmas event. I hope you enjoy nightmares about six foot tall gingerbread men with a taste for human flesh, because Killing Floor will throw hordes of them at your face on the new Ice Cave map.
The event will also give you the chance to shoot Christmas in the face with new weapons, including a vintage revolver, automatic shotgun, a huge sword and a powerful Husk cannon. Find out more on the official Twisted Christmas page (warning: contains large image of nightmarish gingerbread man). The event starts today, and will run until January 4.

The Tripwire guys do like a bit of seasonal celebration in their Killing Floor. This year they’re gifting us with “the Winter Weapon Pack, with seven brand new weapons complete with new achievements, free to everyone who owns the game” but there’s also an entirely new level, the Ice Cave, which you can check out for free, even if you do not own the game, thanks the free weekend on the Steam from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th December. There’s other exciting new DLC, too, such as the Steampunk pack, which lets you dress like one of those digital distribution punks, I think. Hmm.
When the name of your game is Killing Floor and the premise is "kill everything that isn't you," a certain amount of holiday cheer is expected. Developer Tripwire Interactive has announced the return of its Twisted Christmas holiday event, which will add a new level, music, weapons, and achievements to the game for a limited time.
The content is free to all owners of the game will be available from December 7 through January 4. Killing Floor will also be free to play via Steam this weekend, beginning December 8 through December 11.
But, that's not all: "Returning from last year's event we have Christmas themed specimens replacing all of the regular baddies, Santaâs Evil Lair, Christmas themed achievements and the chance for those who missed unlocking the special Baddest Santa character last year to grab him this time around."
This year's event adds the level Ice Cave as well as seven brand new weapons. Another character DLC character pack is also in the works, entitled Steampunk 2, helping users "complete the set" of Steampunk-style characters introduced in previous DLC.
For more information on the content, check out the game's official blog.
Killing Floor is available on Steam, Direct2Drive, and other digital distribution services.
With the scariest holiday on the calendar creeping near, a Hellish handful of vicious video ghouls (games) are hosting Halloween festivities. If you can't find the fishnet stockings needed to complete your Sexy Parking Meter costume, and will be staying, here's a few unspeakable ideas on how to amuse yourself this wicked weekend.
You can seek the Bombinomicon in Team Fortress 2, fight Dracula and dress as Commander Chicken in Killing Floor, escape a zombie nightmare in Train Simulator 2012, and join in plenty of other spooky thrills.
Once again, Team Fortress 2 is running the scariest show in town, with the Third Annual Scream Fortress Very Scary Halloween Special. After reading the fabulous new comic revealing the terrifying truth behind the Demonman's missing eye, you'll be ready to hunt the accursed orb.
The map Viaduct has become the haunted Eyeaduct, where you'll face the twisted creature the Demoman's eye became, the Monoculus. Defeating it will grant rewards, while you can also find new and fantastic Hallowe'en costumes, buy chilling new Mann Store items, or get a cauldron of goodies just for playing.
Check the TF2 wiki for more, and have a peek at Eyeaduct courtesy of Youtube user Niichts:
Survival shooter Killing Floor is running the Halloween Sideshow, bringing back and spookifying the cast of the Summer Sideshow. The Abusement Park has relocated to the asylum map of Bedlam, where you'll find goblins, were-bunnies, pumpkins, and Dracula baying for your blood.
If you collect all seven new Killing Floor Halloween achievements, you'll unlock a Commander Chicken outfit to wear. Yes, it is a chicken suit.
Rock of Ages has rolled out a Jack-o'-lantern boulder skin for you to pummel your foes with, along with a spooky new title screen.
Railworks 3: Train Simulator 2012 is celebrating Halloween with perhaps the single oddest piece of downloadable content ever created, Trains vs Zombies.
Zombies have invaded the Oxford-Paddington route, so you'll need to drive a group of survivors, including a mysterious man known as The Professor, to a secret bunker beneath Paddington Station, switching trains and dodging the dastardly undead along the way. Yes. $4.99 will get you four scenarios with zombies, witches, and flying trains.
A special 'Steam Digital Deluxe Edition' of Tripwire's PC WW2 shooter sim Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad has been unveiled, packing bonuses including beta access, new playable characters for Tripwire's Killing Floor, and new Team Fortress 2 hats. Pre-orders are now open for both the standard and special Steam editions, with a nifty discount.
Red Orchestra 2
The Steam Digital Deluxe Edition, naturally available only through Steam, costs $10 more than the regular game. It will grant you access to the last stage of the pre-release beta test, along with day-1 unlocks of two elite assault weapons and a pair of semi-auto sniper weapons when the game launches. And then there's the bonuses for other games.
In TF2, you'll get a German helmet and Russian "Pilotka" hat to wear. And while the Killing Floor playable characters you also get appear to be anachronistic Russian and German soldiers, they are, in fact, WW2 re-enactors. Well played, Tripwire.
The regular and Steam Digital Deluxe editions can now be pre-ordered from Steam with a 10% discount. This brings it to $35.99 for the plain-o version and $44.99 for the fancy one.
What's more, if you own the original Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 on Steam, the pre-order discount is bumped up to 20% off. You'll also score wearable Russian Guards and German Close Combat badges, and instant unlocks of the Kar98 and Mosin rifle bayonets.
