While we conduct internal testing, our limited experience in developing online multiplayer games has led us to adopt a cautious approach to avoid introducing new issues via rushed fixes. To address this, we’ve launched a Beta branch. This branch will receive daily updates to rapidly resolve reported issues and optimize gameplay, though it may be less stable. If you prefer faster update cycles, you can switch to this branch.

For the default branch, we will only deploy urgent bug fixes immediately, while non-critical fixes will follow a weekly update schedule to ensure a more stable experience.

How to Switch to the Beta Branch

Steam Library → Neon Abyss 2 → Right-click → Properties → Betas → Select "Beta" (no password required).

Note: Players on different branches cannot connect for multiplayer due to version mismatches.

  • Removed the starting trap (in front of the machine) to make the start smoother and reduce the number of potential blockages as the player progresses.
HamsterCraft Playtest - DocRage
- Campaign levels are in works, also added special missions (winning through farming cheese, only certain unit available in level, etc.)

- Other bugfixes - such as swapping items straight through units, not all units were available in ranked and other modes. those are now fixed.
The Isle of Elanor - CommonWombatGames
- Added new lair map system. The new map system is room based and provides for more random variety in how the maps are set up. Each room in the lair is hidden until you open the door. There's now much more of a sense of discovery in moving through each lair.

The old lair map system of a free flowing open cave system will still be available for some lairs.

- Major elevated areas on the overworld map can now be accessed via a stairway. So they player can walk around on the elevated areas. I'll be adding more variety to each elevated area on the overworld map so the stairways are more random.

Going forward this means that maps can now have multiple levels. I'll be able to build out the mountain and hills biomes with this change.
