Since the first day of development, The Calling has been streamed on Twitch every week for the past almost 4 months since I started developing the game. Mostly by me granted (I am a streamer myself granted), but what's been cool is that since the very first day of development, this game has always been focused on showcasing and involving streamers through the whole process of development.

Over the weeks, as the cast of streamers involved in the game grew from 5 on the first day, to over 80+ now, it's been amazing to see streamers hoping on and streaming the game.

So, to celebrate this, we're going to kick off a series called "The Calling Creator Clips" where we will feature clipped moments from streams featuring The Calling!

NOTE: These first clips come from the pre-alpha version of the game, and keep in mind that I'm currently building this game as a solo indie dev (hopefully that will change soon, more on that in a future post), so a lot of what you see is what I've been able to build mostly myself in less than 4 months.

The InBetween - VCD

I have absolutely no idea why it took me so long to fix this..... ah right, I had no controller at home for months, so controller playtesting was impossible for a while.😅

Anyways, there was an issue preventing players from aiming diagonally while staying at a spot when the controller was connected. That have finally been fixed.

I forgot to mention it now, but the in-game cutscenes also went through a huge overhaul, resulting in a better image quality and pretty much no chances of a bug nor soft-lock anymore.

As for the increase in file size over these little updates.... please just ignore that.... for now, at least.😅🙏🏾

Hello agents, It's time for another update!

Today we bring some long requested features to the game, a bunch of bug fixes and a music track thats been hidden for quite some time!

Before getting into the changelist we just wanted to give a special thank you to Fiszore who did the groundwork for the main feature of this update over on the Churn Vector SDK! You're wonderful!

With that said, todays main feature is that NPCs can now use breeding stands once they are done with their prey (this includes the player) meaning you can be recumbobulated and continue your mission instead of having to start over if you get caught by them!

You also have some mobility once churned so should you find yourself sitting far away in some empty room its time to roll over to the nearest worker and have them drag you to a recum machine!

Being able to roll around also opens up some interesting traversal options should you want to be deliberately caught...

List of changes:

  • Predator NPC's can now use breeding stands and will actively seek them out once full (Thanks Fiszore!)

  • The player now has the ability to roll themselves around after being left at a breeding stand

  • A long lost audio track has returned and will now play once more should you complete your main objective while unseen

  • Audio reverb zones, NPC groups and some object placements have been improved on the Tower, Station and Warehouse maps

  • The camera has been updated to fix some clipping issue that could occur in tight spaces

List of bug fixes:

  • Recumbobulated characters would have their physics disabled, this now updates on respawn

  • The primary objective completed music is back and now correctly plays when you do so undetected

  • The dragons on the Tower map no longer have broken orbs between their legs

  • NPC's now forget the players last location when the player is churned

  • Breeding stand usability now respects NPC groups, this includes the player

  • The combat grid now shows squares inside of the attacking player's movement range to better visualize the combat space and where the attacker can move - if players prefer the old combat grid with just the outline, this can be toggled off in options.
  • An icon will now show on the side portraits if a character has levelled.
  • Pressing space bar now loots all in an open container or corpse
  • Added a research tooltip if a skill is too low to research a particular item.
  • Fixed a bug with recruiting Cheetah if the part was already full.
  • Fixed a bug with the Salas bounty battle and the player not being able to move on the grid.
  • Fixed a bug with locker on Eremtera able to be searched before speaking with Wade Burnham
  • Fixed a bug with one conversation path with the Sunscarred leader, Otis, not progressing the "From The Sands" quest.

Tiny Kings - Floating Chicken Games
What's up everyone!

I have decided to lower the price of Tiny Kings after realizing that the previous set price was too high for the amount of bug I started finding. I am very sorry for the lack of quality in the initial EA release and not changing the price earlier. I'm still learning the ropes of launching a game, but I'll get used to it!

On a positive note!

I am continuing to work on a MAJOR update to Tiny Kings that will be bringing lots of great changes to gameplay, as well as fix up all those pesky bugs. Don't expect the update to come out at lighting speed (I am the only programmer on our very small team), but I can't wait for you all to try it!

If you have purchased Tiny Kings before the price change: July 19, 9:00 p.m EST let me know if you would like a compensation. If it is something most people would like, I will absolutely look into making that happen! You can let me know in the Discord Server, Steam Groups, or by commenting on this post.

Hey Beta Testers! We've dropped a new update packed with fixes and improvements based on your feedback. Here's the rundown:

Visuals: Fixed transparency bugs for black clothing and wallpapers.
Persistent Characters: Your uploaded characters now stay between launches (sorry, that was an uncommented code issue 🙈).
Voice Mode: Fixed chat issues for smoother Voice Mode performance.
Mic Fix: Plugging in your mic now works perfectly after startup.
Avatars & Thumbnails: Characters without thumbnails auto-generate avatars. You can now customize thumbnails, and user-uploaded models display your name, not "unknown."
Backgrounds: Uploaded backgrounds now persist after reloading.
Text Chat: Squashed the "Service Unavailable" issue for seamless texting.

New Content
1、If players commit misdeeds in shops after reaching level 15, shopkeepers will call guards to arrest them.
2、Players can now invest in shops and receive weekly dividends based on the shop’s prosperity and their shareholding ratio.
3、Shops now have a "Prosperity" attribute—the higher the prosperity, the better the shop performs, and vice versa.
4、Shops will have a weekly goods list; providing goods of corresponding value will increase the shop’s favorability and prosperity.
5、Invested shops may be extorted by local thugs. Failure to handle it promptly will result in the loss of that week’s dividends and the shop’s prosperity.
6、Camps owned by players may be raided by bandits. Failure to handle it promptly will result in the loss of camp supplies and wealth.
7、Shops now have new attributes: "commodity type" and "commodity quantity," which, together with town economy, affect corresponding commodity parameters.
8、Shops now have a "fund" attribute, which, together with town economy, affects the shop’s funds.

Numerical Adjustments
1、Adjusted the algorithm for shop funds, which now depends on the shop’s fund attribute and town economy.
2、The new algorithm will result in shop funds being nearly 5 times higher than before when prosperity and town economy are high.
3、Adjusted the relationship between commodity quantity and unit price: low-priced commodities will have a greater quantity than before, while high-priced commodities will have a reduced quantity.

Bug Fixes
1、Fixed the bug where dungeon creatures would not flee.
2、Fixed the bug where dungeons would not automatically open over time.
