I've spent some time the past couple of days taking a look at how the game performs across different systems. Specifically HIGHER fps systems were having inconsistent physics and I wasn't satisfied with that. So I've hit the game with the CONSISTENT PHYSICS ACROSS FRAMERATES hammer, and added some options for players to fine tune things themselves.

All users should see some minor performance improvements as well, specifically less sprite jittering when you're moving around or falling.

By default the game has vsync enabled and does not cap fps, but feel free to toggle these and see which works the best for you system with the new options.

Patch Notes:

  • "Cap FPS at 60" and "Vsync" buttons have been added to both options menus

  • You can no longer open the credits page after selecting start game

  • Various physics objects and timers now behave the same regardless of framerate (scarf, trail behind the player, fall timer)

  • Physics are now interpolated, so there should be less or no jitter of sprites at higher frame rates

  • Echoes are now a thing.

  • Instant task milestones will now instead spawn echoes.

  • New text in inventory shows the last selected resource.

  • 3 New Mildred quests for the remaining buff slots.

  • 2 New Buffs: Echo, and Combat Echo.

  • Buff autocasting unlocks after casting 100 buffs.

Balance Changes
  • Reduced the rate of chests by 25%-90% scaling with rarity. so whilst wooden chests had a rate of 0.2 before they now have a rate of 0.15 and Vastium chests have gone from 0.01 to 0.001 with the others having similar reductions in-between those values.

  • Fish have gone from 1.5 up to 2 across the board.

Bugfixes
  • Dice now works again.

Backend
  • Reworked Disciple data into scriptable objects to make expanding the system easier, and the workflow is now in line with how the rest of the projects data management works allowing for an expandable system and a LOT less work in the editor.

  • Refactored Buffs, Quests, and Disciples to pull directly from the resources folder rather than manually managing a list of each that can be set wrong by the designer. (Not me I swear!)

  • Another rework on the map generation. Task categories now have their own set of weights which are iterated over first when choosing a task.

- Changed Lilly's dialogue to specify more clearly that you can find her at the Party Inn, NOT the Inn in the city after her fight.
- Fixed being able to just talk to the arena master and skip all the fights.
- Fixed cure event for Guards not triggering correctly.

1. Interaction Bug on In-Game HUD

Fixed a bug where interactions did not work properly when hovering over HUD elements (excluding buttons).

Extended the daytime duration on Day 1 to provide more time for the tutorial.

Fixed a bug where equippable items would be unequipped when reacquired after being equipped via pickup or crafting.

4. Inventory Not Opening Bug

Fixed a bug where the inventory window would not open properly after placing an object.

5. Auto Interaction Disable Bug

Fixed a bug where auto interaction would stop working if the target object died during the interaction.

Super 10 Pin - ModusPwnin
  • Small update to fix the Bowlour (Tutorial level) star not triggering unlocks correctly.
    If you have previously collected the star and not received unlocks, go to the Unlocks>Data>Achievements menu and scroll through to retrigger.

Update OnnxRuntime library, to see if fix some AMD cards.
Sadly TorchSharp still not updated to support 5XXX Nvidia cards, so it will not work on those cards yet. I'm looking for alternative solutions if they take to much time to make the update.
No more "Scene transition" option, the new model handle it.
