Beneath officially launched on Monday - and watching players dive in has been incredible! We’ve seen so many of you exploring, reacting, theorizing, and sharing your first journeys into the depths, and we can’t get enough.

Now we want to shine a light on the community with an official Creator Compilation - a highlight reel featuring some of the best, funniest, and most intense moments from players like you.

New Achievements 🤩

Instead of creating the next day, I went back and reworked some aspects of the story. Mainly things that players often complained about.

TLDR: There are new achievements, you can now reject Fiona, it's easier to access certain scenes, bugfixes, abilities now have categories, and most of the changed scenes are displayed right after where the last update has left off, so you don't have to replay the entire game to find out what is new.

Now we come to the more lengthy explanation:

1 - I went back and adjusted the way abilities could be categorized. Besides the distinction of male and female abilities, the female abilities are now split into six categories. This is first explained in the training scene, where MC asks Tracy about how abilities work.

Her,e I should explain that you don't have to start a new playthrough to see those scenes. Not everybody will, and it would be confusing if, in the future, characters refer to something the player hasn't seen yet. In an effort to keep their' safe files from the end of the last update, I added a dream scene after your interaction with Cecilia, where the MC remembers things he was told about abilities. This dream only triggers in playthroughs that haven't seen the changed scenes yet. If you are curious what has changed, you don't have to go through the entire game from the beginning; you can simply load the last save and watch what's new.

But there is a reason why you might want to start a new playthrough.

2 - You can now reject Fiona.

People wanted this for a while. It's the only love interest that you couldn't reject. Now it's possible to be sceptical once she returns, which will allow you to reject her after the bowling scene. Fiona will still appear in the story, but no longer as much, and it's clear that the two of you are not together.

3 - It's easier to access a certain spicy scene involving Tracy

Up until now, this scene could only be viewed if you reject Tracy before talking things out with Fiona, then you tell her you are interested at night in the kitchen, and only then you get the option to have your first time with her at home instead of the gym shower. Now you get the option to sleep with Tracy at home, regardless of when you showed Tracy that you like her.

4 - It's easier to access Lucy's spicy solo scene

Up until now, you needed to reject Tracy in your playthrough if you wanted to see Lucy's solo scene. Now, you no longer have to do that. Simply choose to talk to Lucy alone after Tracy comes to your room on the day you went to the waterpark.

And then there are a couple of changes that don't need much explaining:
- Restoring the H button to its normal functionality in Ren'Py games
- Fixing an incontinuity error where the story showed you slept with Fiona, even if you didn't
- New Achievements

Paddlenoid Playtest - blackvanderson
- Fixed: new installations now have the 'Classic' paddle setting
- Fixed: Repulsor and Attractor space elements now have the same particle speed
Idle Wizard - Two Wizards

New Feature: Pantheon Memetics. Unlocked at e1500. You can assign 8 different modifiers to your Major Gods, 7 of those offer a new Ability to the God, unaffected by Ability Power but affected by God's level and Milestones, but increase the Experience required per Level. 8th modifier increases Major Gods' Main Ability Power, while disabling the selected God's other abilities completely, but does not induce an Experience cost penalty. Each of these new Modifiers can be improved by exchanging Splinters for Memetic Wax and investing the Wax into them.

QoL change: after becoming unlocked, Pets can now be chosen directly without requiring their T1/T2 prerequisites!

And a couple of balance changes and bug fixes along with that

Today’s update is all about player experience and progression — making sure your journey in Tawa: Lost in Time feels meaningful and persistent as you grow stronger and explore the prehistoric world.

✅ New Feature: Save System Overhaul

You can now save your adventure and pick up exactly where you left off — with world state preserved!
This includes:

🌍 Last scene/location loaded

🐭 Your character stats and state

🍃 Objective & progression systems

🖼️ Save slot thumbnails (real in-game snapshot!)

📅 Timestamped save slots


Each save now generates a mini-screenshot so you can visually see your last location — a small detail that makes it feel alive.

🔄 Auto-Load Most Recent Save

When you return to the game, the most recent save can be automatically loaded — fast and seamless.

Prefer choosing manually? No worries — you can still load from a save menu.

🎨 New Save Menu UI

A new in-game Save Browser lets you manage your progress easily:

Slot preview images

Date & time shown

Load / Delete buttons

“Continue game” feature on the way


Minimal UI, clean, simple, and functional — evolving toward the game’s warm natural style.

💾 Steam Cloud Support (Coming Soon)

Right now saves are stored locally, but full Steam Cloud auto-sync is prepared and will activate when the game reaches its next milestone.

This means cross-device continuity, including Steam Deck. 🕹️🔥

Progress systems are core to Tawa: Lost in Time.
Saving and loading correctly unlocks the next phase of development:

  • Boss Battles are now optional: you can play in Boss-less mode if you prefer
  • All Bosses can now appear in any battle; higher-tier bosses are less likely in Easy mode and more likely in Hard mode
  • If a Boss and Player tie, the player now wins
  • Fixed behavior of the Lock Master relic
  • Threshold d10 rarity adjusted from Uncommon to Rare
  • Fixed a rare crash related to the in-battle timer
