First of all, once again, thank you. Chained Echoes has crushed all our expectations already. With great success comes also a great amount of feedback. Here on Steam. On the Discord. On Twitter. On Facebook. Reddit. Even TikTok. We are overwhelmed. Thank you so much.

That also means we just can't answer every thread, every question, every tweet. We wish we could but that's just impossible right now. That's why we're writing this post, to let you know what we are currently working on.

While we had an extensive beta phase with the Kickstarter Backers, some issues we didn't find. In most cases the savegame and crash issues result from edgecases. We're reading all the steam threads and the messages on other platforms and we're currently fixing one issue after the other. Keep in mind that due to certification processes on consoles, console patches require some time to be released.

We'll unlock Japanese probably next week on PC. Further languages are not planned at this moment. We know that there are quite a few of you requesting it in Chinese and Spanish. And while we would love to have these languages in the game, we need to make decisions based on numbers. Yes, both languages are the two most spoken languages on the planet, yet sales wise the territories are, especially for indie games, not doing too well. If Chained Echoes had less words, that'd be not a big deal but with more than 200.000 words, the situation is a different one.

Matthias is currently working on NG+ and some smaller Quality of Life improvements. Anything else, may it be a DLC or a Sequel... honestly, we haven't really thought about that just yet. Once we're finished with patching the critical issues you've found, we'll sit together and discuss possible options.

Saves created on Update 2 and before are incompatible with Update 3. This sucks, yes, and we try to limit losing save compatibility to the minimum - but it’s not always possible. With the reworked storage system added in Update 3, it had to be done.

However, we have added Update 2 on a separate branch. This way, you're able to continue your U2 playthrough as long as you're fine with not having access to the U3 features. Please check this thread if you want to play on the Update 2 branch.

Hey guys, it's officially winter and so I thought bringing a small winter update to Dashpong would be cool ❄️



I've added a new Ice map and a new special mode called Gifts. In this mode, Santa crosses the map and drops gift. When you open the gift by dashing on it, you can either freeze the enemy, freeze your own goal (as a protection) or freeze the opponent's side, making it slippery. What comes out of the gift is random and applies automatically.



I've also added a new dynamic camera option! It's enabled by default but you can switch back to the static camera at anytime by toggling it off in the settings. I personnaly really like the new camera, it feels like you're in the game more.

Mercenaries!

The servers are now up and running. There were a few issues that have been found which will be addressed in the upcoming updates.

Issues that have been found:
1. The EPKO Roswell scope becomes invisible when the Character Quality option is below Medium. The dev team is working on this issue and will have it fixed as soon as possible.
2. New implemented items show 'Repair' which will be fixed as soon as possible.

Christmas Event
Christmas event will last until 6th of January.

Gingerbread Dough is available from mining, fishing and woodcutting.
Some of the monsters drop Ice outfit parts and others drop Ghost of Christmas outfit parts.
Tree Stump pet is available from woodcutting.
Evil Tree Stump pet is available from fishing.
Ice Golem pet is available from mining.

Gingerbread Knucles can be crafted on anvil.
Gingerbread walls, windows, floors and fireplace can be crafted with Gingerbread Dough on your island.

Ice Blade, Ice Staff, Ice Longbow, Present Longbow, Present Hammer, Candy Spear and Whisp Shield are available from Scavenger hunt.

+3 level event items are animated.

For every 500 MOS purchased 1 Lucky Ticket is given.
Lucky Tickets may contain coins, MOS and items from previous Christmas events until next event then it changes.

MOS store prices -20% until the end of event.

Holy Angel Outfit can be bought from MOS store for 600 MOS for a limited time.
Dead Bridesmaid Box is removed from MOS store after event ends.

Every Man's Land is open (safe PvP area)!

Wings and Capes up to level 150
Speed stat removed from firelord war wings.
Speed stats added for regular enchanted wings which require defense as equip requirement, after level 95.
War wings got stat alignment based on regular wings, increasing armor and power.

Ender and obsidian gears (150, 145), can be obtained. Unique sprites added for both gear sets.

Skill quests exp rewards scale with required item amount.
Previously if you took skill quest which required 250 or 500 of the same item, exp reward per item was the same.
Now higher amount awards more exp. Therefore it is more beneficial to take quests which require more items for completion.
It will be applied to base exp calculation, therefore quest quality will multiply that.
NB: Carpentry is not included into that formula

Channel selection background missing.
When chat appears on top in mobile then the channel selection had no background and was hard to see.
