The quiz segment of The PC Gaming Weekspot regularly brings about some heated discussion. But, more often than not, both myself and Matthew know that it’s all in the spirit of competition. When all is said and done, there’s still a level of respect there.

This week’s Mystery Steam Reviews is different. I knew focusing on games set in Britain could bring some controversy, but I genuinely wasn’t expecting what happened.

Take a look at our [cms-block] recommendations and you’ll find pretty much all of them have support for either AMD FreeSync or Nvidia’s G-Sync variable refresh rate technology. But what exactly is G-Sync and FreeSync and why are they so important for gaming? Below, you’ll find all the answers to your burning G-Sync FreeSync questions, including what each one does, how they’re different, and which one is best for your monitor and graphics card. I’ll also be talking about where Nvidia’s G-Sync Compatible standard fits in with all this, as well as what Nvidia’s G-Sync Ultimate, AMD’s FreeSync Premium and FreeSync Premium Pro specifications bring to the table as well.

Happy Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War day! Treyarch’s new shooter is out now, bringing the subseries back to its roots with a direct sequel to 2010’s Cod Blops. This time around they’re giving us a singleplayer campaign with a sprinkling of warcrimes and multiple endings, the usual shoot ’em up multiplayer with some new modes, and (the best part) a new Zombie adventure. Call Of Duty: Warzone is adding Black Ops stuff next month, too.

is opting for the Scorestreak system once again, meaning you can earn bonuses through both killstreaks and playing the objective. You’ll have to get streaks of kills to get anywhere with Scorestreaks though, so don’t assume you can just go around dying and get a Chopper Gunner. Anyway, here’s all the Scorestreaks in Call of Duty Cold War.

Mad Max 2015 game header image

I’d like to take you all the way back to September 1st, 2015. I had just clocked off of work (I was working in a Wetherspoons kitchen at the time), and was making my way to my local game shop to pick up a very special game indeed. To my surprise there was quite a queue, clearly fellow connoisseurs had had the same idea. As I reached the front of the line the guy behind the till instinctively reached for a copy of Metal Gear Solid 5, apparently it had also released that day. But I merely smiled and said “No sir, I’ll be taking Mad Max.

Now, though, we finally the exact date of your man’s never-ending night of bloodshed – or, at least, the date we’ll be able to get our hands on it. Following a potential leak on an Aussie PlayStation store, a new trailer has put a pin on May 21st as the start of Deathloop’s stabby showdown.

? I’m not sure it’s the answer the devs had in mind when they first penned the script, but today’s answer is a whole lotta assets to download for your own Unreal Engine projects. If you fancy taking remixing your own take on the Finch household, you can now download a massive bundle of models, textures, and pre-built environments for free via Epic’s game development platform.

Eivor sprints into battle.

For Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s Eivor, there’s no foe that can’t be bested with a good axe. Unfortunately, you’re not Eivor. You’re sitting at a PC, controlling them through a piece of software that has some troublesome villains of its own – from irritating freezes to the game stubbornly refusing to show up in your collection. Yes, it might be cold up in Norway, but these freeze-ups aren’t the kind of immersion you’re looking for, are they?

The PlayStation 5 amongst various peripherals like controllers and headsets.

So, big news – the PlayStation 5 came out today. Well, it did for folks in the US, in the UK we’ll be waiting until November 19th to get our hands on one (booooo). In my mind, the PS5 is the next-gen (or current-gen now, I suppose) console that pairs quite nicely for PC users. It lets you get away from your desk and sit back with a controller, and, importantly, lets you play games that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to play on PC.

But what do you reckon, reader? Which new-gen console is the one for you? (If any!)
