Hello everyone! Nice to meet you—we are Midnight Workshop. If you’re reading this, congratulations! You’ve discovered our first game, Survival Log, even before the zombies do.
In just 24 hours, the city will be completely overrun. You’ll have to race against time to stockpile supplies, fortify your shelter, and prepare for the incoming zombie outbreak. Should you buy more canned food or secure the windows first? Stock up on medicine or get a radio? Every decision you make will determine whether you survive when disaster strikes.

Our game Huaxia: Warring States will commence testing today at 8:00 PM!
After the Playtest begins, the application channel will close. Scholars who haven't obtained testing eligibility yet, please proceed to Steam to submit your applications!

Since the previous test, we have significantly optimized the art style and various gameplay mechanics. Content you can experience in this Playtest includes:
Unlocked maps of Sanchuan Commandery and Yingchuan Commandery, comprising 15 counties
Clan homestead construction functionality with multiple building module management options
22 weapon types and 32 spells for customization
Enhanced class progression for more troop types
Retainer recruitment and cultivation
We fully recognize this Playtest is not yet perfect, so we welcome all scholars to provide suggestions through the in-game questionnaire.
We will randomly select dedicated respondents to receive modest gifts.

Shiy will also be actively monitoring the official Discord, inviting all scholars to share feedback in real-time.
Every suggestion you provide will be genuinely considered—none will be ignored.
For instance, regarding the most frequent feedback from the last video about overly thick health bars obstructing views:
After receiving your input, we promptly optimized the health bar display—it's now much less intrusive.

All other suggestions will also be seriously addressed.
For this Playtest, players unable to obtain access need not be discouraged—we will soon initiate broader trial opportunities!

PATCH NOTES 1.0.01:
Value information when upgrading shards or items during a match:
From now on, whenever you upgrade your leader during a match, you’ll be able to see exactly which attributes each improvement will affect in your stats or abilities!
Statistics when pausing the game during a match:
For those who enjoy numbers and analyzing their upgrade stats, we’ve added a table with all the numerical information that influences your match! You can view this table by pausing the game during the match.
Difficulty Selection:
Now, when starting Shard Squad for the first time, you’ll be able to choose between Apprentice and Explorer difficulties! We also added one more card to the initial tutorial to better explain how difficulty selection works before starting a match. If you prefer a more relaxing experience with Shard Squad, we recommend starting in Apprentice mode. If you’re looking for the game’s intended challenge, face the Explorer mode! Regardless of your choice, it can be changed at any time afterward.
Flying enemy dashes:
We fixed an issue with the dash interactions of some flying enemies and the stage boundaries.
Changes to the descriptions of Hourglass, Lucky Clover, and Scale Catalyst:
We updated the descriptions of the Hourglass, Lucky Clover, and Scale Catalyst items to make it clear that choosing any of them during a match applies the improvement to your entire squad!
Bug when changing difficulty after pressing the “Play” button:
We noticed that after pressing “Play” to start a match, it was still possible to change the difficulty during the brief transition from the menu to the gameplay. Bug fixed!
Bixie multiplier update:
We adjusted the Bixie multipliers for the Apprentice and Hero difficulties!
Liu Kong’s riddle updated in English:
There were some inaccuracies in the riddles for the mission to unlock the prismatic shard Liu Kong in English. We updated the descriptions and hope more players will be able to find him and enjoy the second prismatic shard!
Dash bug while defeated:
We fixed the bug that allowed players to use dash after being defeated.
We’re immensely grateful to everyone who ventured into this first week of Shard Squad! We’re paying close attention to the feedback, and we truly appreciate all the love from the community!

Backpacks no longer increase Quick Slots.
Changed the base Quick Slots amount to 9.
Added 6 new pocket slots on the Character Equipment that can store foods, drinks, meds, throwables and holdables. Every pocket slot is bound to a Quick Slot Bind, so moving one of these items directly to the pocket slot will bind automatically the item, the same goes for quick equipping the item.
Added an Equip option to foods, drinks, meds, throwables and holdables while on the inventory and when they are dropped on the ground.
Added a notification error when you try to track more quests than the limit (5).
Game Settings can now be opened and adjusted on Hideout, during Raids wont be possible.
Quests menu and quest objectives no longer show on Tutorial Map.

Item recipe balance changes to make lightning towers more necessary towards the end of the game.
Mid-end game storm balance changes - mostly for acid storms to make them more consistent. Sometimes they would deal very little damage.
Fix issue where drones were not delivering the full 40 items per minute at max load.
Forecasting and weather simulator accuracy improvements and bug fixes.
Fix sound bug that causes game to crash randomly.
Improve construction station item arrangement.
Attempt to fix rare issue where game could crash when terraforming.
Play music more prominently at the start of a new save.
