We’ve heard your feedback — many of you said that Hidden Tomatoes 4 felt a bit easier compared to the previous games, and that it was missing achievements.
We truly appreciate your honesty and support! 🙏
This update adds 6 brand-new achievements for you to unlock! 🏆
Also, in the next update (coming soon), the game will become a bit more challenging to make the hunt more fun and rewarding. 🔍
We know that some of you preferred the style of the earlier Hidden Tomatoes games, and we’re taking that seriously. I’m already working to improve this game and future titles based on your valuable feedback.
Thank you for staying with me through this journey — your comments really help shape the future of Hidden Tomatoes! ❤️
Happy hunting,
Hello everyone,
This is Toru Nakamura, Director of Vivid World.
This will be the final entry in the series, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been reading along😌
I truly hope you enjoy this last post!
Today, I would like to give you a glimpse into another world that exists beyond battle...
Some of you who played the demo may have wondered,
What exactly is this place?🤔
In this post, I would like to reveal a bit of the mystery behind this intriguing space!
“Lymbos” is a kind of lobby space where Lemuria stays outside of the dungeons.
Yes, you can visit this area in the Demo, but most of it remains locked.

This place is packed with all sorts of out-of-battle elements, such as Dungeon Unlocks, Perfumes, and Stickers, which we’ve introduced in the earlier blog posts.
You’ll also find wandering spirits to talk with and reapers who seem to be working on some weird projects...
The story and world of Vivid World both expand from this place.
The name “Lymbos” comes from the Latin word "Limbus", meaning edge or boundary.
The concept of Limbo is often depicted as a place belonging neither to heaven nor hell... an ambiguous in-between realm.
In Vivid World, this space was named with that nuance in mind. A borderland where players can take a break between adventures.
By the way, here’s what the initial concept looked like!
It started with a simple layout featuring just color blocks and gradually evolved into its current form.
Looking back now, it inspires a sense of nostalgia!
Also, in the screenshot above, you might notice there’s a part that is locked.

We hope you look forward to discovering it when the game releases!
Here is a quick look at some of the unique characters you’ll meet in Lymbos!
A reaper has become completely enchanted by the beauty of a material found in dungeons, known as Star Fragments.
Normally calm and reserved, it becomes animated and speaks at lightning speed once the conversation shifts to its passions. It proposes a deal to Lemuria: to exchange the Star Fragments you have collected for mysterious stickers from his personal collection.
A whimsical reaper that lives in a cozy jar.
It gathers materials and brews strange perfumes without sleep. Its crafting methods remain completely unknown, and the scents it produces change daily.
It may speak in a bit of a jumbled way, but look at how it cannot wait to share its latest creations with you. Its enthusiastic charm is quite hard to resist.

Hermes is a reaper who diligently documents every change and event that occurs in the dungeons, often without needing to be asked.
Also a passionate dungeon enthusiast who takes note of even the smallest details. Since the arrival of Lemuria, it could not be more thrilled by the influx of new information coming in.

The release of Vivid World is just around the corner...
We have been able to continue our development thanks to all of your feedback and support.
Vivid World is not just about what happens in battle, but also what takes place outside of it.
We cannot wait for you to experience it for yourself and to meet you in the Underworld after the release!

November will be busy! We’re entering the month with some major updates to the game, so, without further ado, let us go through the highlights of upcoming changes and additions.
You’ve been asking for some diversity in terms of cars and we decided to deliver. The first ever DLC is coming to JDM November 6th (in just two days!). Six unlicensed cars, providing raw drifting power and a completely new, unique style to Guntama, for only 5,99 USD.

The DLC will also launch with new, unique car parts for the above vehicles.
Buying the DLC will unlock the new cars at the Car Dealer. You will need to buy them in-game like any other model. Before you raise your hands and ask the obvious question here - we did not want to abuse the beginning of the game by giving an ‘unfair’ advantage and providing the DLC cars straight to your garage. Remember that you can always take the car for a test drive first before you grab it from the Dealer.
Side note - we know you’re asking for new JDM cars as well; We are at it!
First and foremost, thank you for participating in our small beta branch experiment.Your support is very much appreciated. Time and time again you prove you’re the best community we could’ve wished for. You’ve launched the game, you’ve played through the new features and you’ve provided feedback. We’ve heard you loud and clear - the paint shop update still needs more love and polishing and as such will remain in development for a little longer. The goal is to bring it to you as soon as possible with your feedback and requests added to its scope. Once we have it nailed down, we’ll let you know about when we expect it to launch for all players.
So what will the new update bring?
Shortened loading screens / soft event restarts
The other feature from the beta testing proved to be ready and as such will go live with the next update.
We’ve drastically shortened the loading times needed to restart an event.
The first time you launch an event it will still need the time to load it all up to your memory before it’s playable but after that each restart will literally take only a couple of seconds to reboot it.
New Villain Side Story
It’s time for the Honey Badger! You can learn all about his past by playing a new side mission campaign, complete with new manga pages. It spans over 6 events, consisting of time attack challenges and one drag race tournament. Completing it will reward you with Honey Badger's own, heavily tuned car.
As always, you will find the new side mission marker in the open world. Completing the first event will unlock the next one, and so forth until you complete them all.
We’re planning to release the patch alongside the DLC on November 6th. Expect a full patch notes list that day as well.
If you’ve somehow missed the news earlier - JDM: Japanese Drift Master is coming to Xbox Series X|S on November 21. We will be opening pre-orders on November 14. If you decide to support us early on Xbox, you will receive an exclusive reward - the Akina Phantom - an unlicensed car, which should be more than familiar to fans of a certain manga / anime.
The PlayStation 5 version of JDM is scheduled to release in Q1 2026.
Aaaand that’s a wrap for today’s devlog. To sum it up:
November 6th - JDM: MADE IN USA DLC launches
November 6th - JDM update, featuring the shortened loading times and the new Honey Badger side story campaign.
November 14 - Pre-Orders start for the Xbox version of the game.
November 21 - JDM launches on Xbox
Q1 2026 - PlayStation 5 launch.
Mark your calendars!
If you want to discuss the news or just talk about JDM (game), JDM (cars) and everything in-between, you can find us on our Discord server.
