Penetration and Defense will be improved in the late game. Additionally, the defense bonus from Fortitude/Will has been increased;
The starting critical hit chance has been reduced (from 4-5% to 0-1% at hero level 1);
The game now starts earlier: soldiers spawn at 15 seconds, and forest creeps spawn at 30 seconds;
Forest creeps become stronger more slowly as the game progresses;
Hero respawn time has been reduced in the late game (by ~22 seconds at 40 minutes at hero level 36);
Tower and main building damage has been increased. Main building's projectiles have also been spawned faster and their defense has been increased;
Melee soldiers spawning after the armory is destroyed now deal double the damage;
The starting defense of the Gorynych Serpent has been reduced;
The Health of the summoned Serpent Gorynych has been increased by 25%.

This new SMG fires bursts of increasing size, but more importantly, you can fire it while sprinting! By default it shoots out electrified bullets, though you should keep an eye out for those nasty bees…

Oxythane’s Research & Development Hub #42 is under attack! Get in there and kill things. Completing Oxythane Breach unlocks an ‘Escalation’ mode with waves of escalating difficulty and a special reward for Threat 7.
This new mission lets you drop into New Atlas, complete random objectives for as long as you want, and then extract at your leisure. You’re free to roam the area as long as you want, but be warned — the longer you stay, the angrier your fungal enemies become.
Paid Time Off features objectives taken from previous missions as well as some new objectives, one of which comes with a new mission vehicle!
You can also switch and modify weapons whenever you want while in a Paid Time Off mission.
Roachard got you clearance for a new area of the Gravity Farms! Missions in the Gravity Farms can spawn in either area. To showcase the Shipping Lane level, the new Paid Time Off mission in the Gravity Farms will only spawn in the Shipping Lane for now. Maybe for a week or two, we don’t really know.
Saxon would like to remind all employees that Speed Gate related injuries are not covered by company health insurance.
Added three new enemies: The Devastator, Missilehead, and Rocket Grunt. Watch out for their new weaponry! We also did these things:
Fixed an issue where enemy arms could jitter when you stood to close to them
Fixed some cases where enemies could fire through walls
Improved leg behavior on larger enemies to make them move into more spider-like positions
Pixies can no longer target other enemies with immunity beams. No more pixie chains!
Fixed some issues with syncing enemies when joining a game
You can now spend Strange Components to turbocharge exotic upgrades. Turbocharged exotics gain a new ability, ranging from stat boosts too new behaviors.

Wrenches be gone! You can now heal Hunk’s wheels by hitting them with your melee, freeing up your heavy slot.

Factory Management: You don’t build from scratch — you evolve an existing plant. Upgrade your assembly shop to three independent lines, expand your warehouse, research vehicle technologies, and fine-tune your Design Bureau to fit your strategy.
Strategic Map: Deploy up to three managers (one per administrative level) to capture resource buildings and cities. Every tactical move feeds back into your production.
Racing: Hit the track in your own car — the one you designed. Fuel tank size, headlight presence, engine power — every detail matters. This isn’t luck; it’s a test of your engineering logic.

Thanks to everyone that participated in the Playtest period for the Hermit Demo. Just to note that today the playtest will be deactivated. As the full Game Demo is now available, players should make their way over to the Demo rather than the playtest page to Access the Hermit Demo.
You can still access the game via the Game Demo page (the main release of the Hermit Demo is there now), and (as long as you haven't uninstalled/deleted them) your SaveGame files by downloading the Demo and accessing them there. It is the same build as the last playtest version and your Save files should be located automatically.
For those wishing to make a backup of their SaveGames, note that on Windows they are stored in
you User folder under:
\\AppData\\Local\\GameFile\\Saved\\SaveGames

3 weeks ago I launched Desktop Defender's demo, and I cannot thank you all enough for how huge this has all been.
We went from 3 concurrent players to 1,548
Reached the top 3 most played demos on Steam
Got a special feature from Steam because of how much you all played the demo
Went from 200 wishlists, to almost 50,000
This community is incredible, and I can't wait to continue talking to you all and making the game the best it can be together! We have a super active Discord server too, where people are pushing waves, have set up a wiki, and even modded the game! Make sure to join it if you want to see the newest of what's up with Desktop Defender.
