Movement Improvements for Tawa
This week I focused on refining Tawa’s locomotion to make animations feel more natural and responsive.

✅ Smoother transitions between walk / run / idle

✅ Better control precision, especially during tight turns

✅ Ground alignment fixes for slopes & uneven environments

✅ Early stamina & stress integration tests to influence movement speed later on


Tawa now feels more alive — less “sliding”, more little creature energy 🐭✨

Dinosaur Behavior Enhancements
I also pushed updates to the dinosaur AI to make encounters feel more organic and less scripted.

✅ Improved passive behavior loops (wandering, grazing, observing)

✅ Early predator logic updates — they now choose when to ignore, stalk, or chase

✅ First test for inter-species awareness (they don’t only focus on the player)


The island is beginning to feel like a living ecosystem, rather than a space full of scripted enemies.

More polish is coming — especially AI reactions, sounds, and environmental interactions.

A small content update + QOL update:

New shared spell upgrade "Frost Wave"

- This spell is a wave of frost that glides across the screen, destroying enemies on collision.

- Update to switch "on mouse click" to "on E key pressed" near treasure chests, coffins, talking to NPCs, etc. There's a new "E" icon that shows up when this is an option.

  • Fixed an issue with the AI system where a safety gap could trigger unexpected bugs between play sessions.

  • Improved AI stability and behavior after capturing the player.


🚪 Interaction & Collisions
  • Adjusted several hitboxes to improve interaction detection with the player.

  • Fixed some teleportation zones in the Labyrinth, preventing the player from falling through the ground.

  • Reduced the size of certain hitboxes to avoid unintended collisions or multiple triggers.


🗣️ Narrative & Dialogues
  • Adjusted several dialogue lines to fix minor inconsistencies.

  • Improved dialogue timing in specific interactive sequences.


🧩 Other Fixes
  • Minor optimizations to entity behavior inside the Labyrinth.

  • Cleaned up unused internal references to improve overall stability.

Hey everyone,

This update includes overall improvements, important bug fixes, and new additions to the carnival area.

  • Added One Dragon Casino as a new location.

  • Added directional signboards around the carnival. Signs now dynamically update when you rename your truck.

  • Cash can now be stacked by combining money instead of picking up each bill one by one.

  • Gas tubes now refill to 100% when placed in the slot. You no longer need to fully drain the old one first.

  • The delivery box area has been moved closer to the truck, and a sign was added to make it easier to find.

  • Adjusted sunlight position, color, and brightness for a more natural atmosphere.

  • Increased fuse box and light button hitboxes for smoother interaction.

  • Updated target icons and UI arrows for better visibility.

  • Improved order menu visuals, sauces are now clearer.

  • Improved and balanced overall sound effects, including interactions, environment, and dialogues.

  • Fixed several localization and text issues across menus and story events.
