Midnight at Grimmi's - Cryomancerlex

Halloween is upon us, and with it comes another update, and another update post.

This update was meant to include internight events and other new mechanics, but unfortunately, I had to scale back. Let's focus on what did make it and what's coming next.

What's New ?
Tentacle Monster

Grimmi's grimoire studies have unleashed a new cosmic beast onto the world! The Tentacle Monster is a new boss that can only be encountered on Night 7, upping up the ante before you are able to finish your runs.

Halloween Skins

The following Skins have been added for players to unlock:

  • Necromancer Skin (Grimmi)

  • Cheri Skin (Beri)

  • Battle Form Skin (Clauvio)

  • Candy Gore Skin (Ecto)

As a special Halloween treat, when selecting the Necromancer Skin for Grimmi, Skeletons will aid you against other enemies. Give it a try!

Daily Color

A new daily game website was added to the Cooler Computer: uwo.dailycolor.com. The goal of the game is to guess color values based on a given name, with a daily Ectoplasm reward attached.

Hub Scene

The hub has been improved with new graphics and Grimmi's friends lounging around for some fun dialogue.

Enemy and Relic Tuning

Enemies have been balanced to improve difficulty curve, and several relics have been made cheaper to allow for more flexibility during runs with lower mushroom protoplasm loot.

What's Next ?

I'm replanning my development of Midnight at Grimmi's for the long run. This used to be a team effort, but now it's just me. This will not stop me, although it will make development times longer. Consider supporting my Patreon for faster development times. I will begin streaming my game development over at Twitch 3-4 times a week under the user Cryomancerlex. Stay on the lookout for that!

  • Fixed an issue where a prompt would appear to pickup the underwater rock while it was on the land

  • Fixed an issue where a glitch would occur while jumping off the moving ship going to Blackrock Island

  • Fixed an issue where the fireplace after defeating snake wouldn't burn Platy if stepping into the flames

  • Fixed a boundary issue during the Sea Eagle boss fight

Cross of Auria - Hardytier

Hey everyone just a quick update. The next update is ready to ship alongside a new DLC which features a collectible battle monster similar to the Snake that was recently added, but I spent too long getting it ready and now it's in 'waiting for Steam review' limbo. I expect that sometime next week it will be good to go and can be finally published. The corresponding patch, 6.8.4.0, will be held back until the DLC itself can be launched. Alongside the DLC is 3 Supply quests, 1 Target quest, and 1 Strike quest from the Headless Hunters lodge.

In terms of the Horseman event itself, it's going to take significantly longer than I thought. My goal is to make 10 Headless Hunters quests, and then 13 special access quests of different types which goes through this new region. I don't want to publish anything half baked or "to be completed later" anymore, so that will just have to come out a little bit later when it makes some less sense.

I'll think of something interesting to do in the interim, but my focus is also going to be shifting to Snowdrift to fully repair and roll out a lodge there.

We'll talk more when Warchest of the Headless Hunters is launched, which hopefully will be by the end of next week. See you then

Since Steam Next Fest, we’ve introduced several changes and new content to enrich the gameplay experience and give players more variety and strategic depth.


Changes in the DEMO Build

  • 3 new maps + 1 special Halloween map,

  • Based on player feedback, all maps have been expanded to allow for more strategic gameplay.,

  • Added a Quest and Challenge system with extra rewards for completing objectives during a run.,

  • Introduced the Headgear System for the Blast Head as a collectible feature, including unique limited headpieces such as a special Halloween mask.,

  • Improved overall enemy wave balance.,

  • Added a Boss fight on Wave 20.,

  • The weapon and rune upgrade/progression system has been moved to a later stage in the game.,

  • Various UI/UX improvements to increase the visibility and clarity of certain interface elements.,

  • Passive skill icons are now grouped into categories and assigned distinguishable color coding.,

CRAST - -=NaimaN=-

This update brings major progress to the Extraction Mode and new gameplay systems to CRAST.

What's new:

1. 💰 Gold, Silver & Bronze Loot Added

Over 14,560 loot spawn points have been placed across the map.

Every match now feels unique — explore, scavenge, and collect valuable loot.


2. 🎯 New Quest System

Players can now generate and accept random missions.

Complete objectives during extraction runs to earn extra rewards!


3. 🔧 Next Steps (Coming Update)

We’ll analyze the new loot economy and adjust the value of gold, silver, bronze, and quest rewards.

Weapon spawn rates will also be balanced to make the shop more valuable and strategic.

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on some new item changes, quality-of-life improvements, and fixes. Thanks as always to everyone sharing feedback and testing the game — it really helps me make the world better and more fun!

Changes & Additions

-Old soil bag is now called “Garden Soil Bag” — you can use a crafting station to split one bag into 4 Garden Soils, so 1 bag = 4 plants.

-More Garden Soil Bags in the world — spawn rate increased!

-New item: Sleeping Tent — currently uncraftable, but there are about 10 tents on the map (one at your base, on the farm). You can pick it up and place it to save your game.

-Save using Sleeping Tents (Experimental) — works, but be careful! Avoid placing tents in unusual spots like underwater, between rocks, fences, etc.

-All garage storages now have a 100-item limit.

-Added a “No Autosave” message in the menu for now — I plan to improve saving even more, and may add autosave later if needed.

-2x more berries in forests — easier to find and gather.

-Sink on the farm fixed — you can now fill bottles and buckets properly after upgrades.

-Fixed water storage capacity bug — no more random resets to 30L.
