HAPPY SAIN†SHEOL version 1.3.0 is coming to Steam this November. A list of all updates and changes will be forthcoming in the next news post once the update has been pushed to Steam.
Not to spoil too much right now but the update will include CG fixes and a number of minor bug fixes. That is all we can say for right now. The team is hard at work implementing the new update so stay tuned!

In spaceflight, mission patches have always been deeply symbolic – they serve as identifiers but also as emblems of identity and purpose. For Aphelion, our fictional Hope-01 mission patch has been designed in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) and bridges the history of space exploration with the speculative future that our story explores.
The patch features two defining elements: Persephone, and the space shuttle that carries our astronauts there, the Horizon Shuttle IV.
Persephone is humanity’s last hope in the face of the increasing severity of climate change on Earth. It is a cold, hostile, frozen world. But it harbors an unexplained heat Source that allows liquid water to exist, and with it, the hope of a possible new habitat for mankind. After an unprecedented effort, a manned mission was launched to determine the planet’s habitability.
It is named after Persephone, the goddess of the underworld and fertility, in reference to mankind's hope of finding a fertile home in the darkness of the farthest reaches of the solar system.
The design of Persephone in the patch is deliberately minimalist to preserve its mystery and allure. It encourages players – as the game’s protagonists must – to wonder what lies in store for them on this previously unexplored planet. It is a symbol and a reminder of how little we know and how much is left to discover.
The shuttle carrying ESA astronauts Ariane Montclair and Thomas Cross is not a copy of any modern shuttle, nor is it a wholly futuristic vessel. It is something between – a bridge between present and future. Aphelion takes place in a near future that diverges from our own, but the technology is still realistic and recognisable. The shuttle represents possibility and hope.
In summary, the Hope-01 patch represents the themes of Aphelion: hope, mystery, and the courage to leave behind what we know and step into uncharted territory.

[/carousel]Our haunted version of Cliffside makes a return this year with some new tricks and treats! The bloodstained rugs and perfectly carved pumpkins haven't changed but you'll find some new Candy Cauldrons around the map to snack on during your missions. Don't eat too much our you'll be dealing with more than a stomachache!
Along with the new Candy Cauldrons comes some new spooks and scares. We're not going to spoil them here but we hope you're not afraid of ghosts!
Halloween is here, and it wouldn't be Halloween if we couldn't dress up in new costumes. Today we're adding multiple new items to the seasonal unlock rotation -- and whether it's animal, aliens, pilots, or pumpkins, you're going to have options.
This year's Halloween costumes come straight from Intruder's community. Massive thanks to artists Quake and Jvne for the modeling and texture work on the new hats!
The Monitor Head also includes cool Intruder Fan art stickers from Wrenn, Xixo, Solbusaur, Quartztrooper, MadmanEpic, Krimbopple, and Polybius.

As darkness falls across North America on Halloween night, the Intruder community will gather for the most haunting of rituals: Playing Intruder.
Terrifying as that might be, it could be worth the risk: Anyone who plays in the official Trick or Treat lobby the evening of October 31 will automatically be entered to win a random Intruder item! Simply join the lobby (hosted by Shala), play some spooky matches, and cross your fingers!
Keep an eye out for the Trick or Treat lobby so it doesn't sneak up on you.

Each time you level up during the Intruder Halloween event, you'll have a chance to unlock new hats. The more you level, the more you're likely to earn -- told you that 200% XP bonus was going to come in handy. But these seasonal cosmetics go out of rotation. Act now...or you'll have to wait 'til Halloween 2026 to earn them again! Now that's scary.
