Hello! This is a spooky update for Halloween, that adds three new items:

  • The Boltergeist

  • Witch Hat

  • Witch Broom

The Witch items spawn normally, but to get the Boltergeist, you must have completed the Dream Eater quest.Β 

The Boltergeist

Their light wrung out, endless fear twisted the shadow's dreamers into shades themselves.

The Boltergeist is a bottle of evil souls that can be freed to terrorize your foes. The ghosts have their own new mechanic where they pass through enemies, damaging and pushing them. They can even go through walls, which may be a little overpowered at points in the game.

The cork of the bottle also shoots out and does massive damage.

Witch Broom and Hat

The witch items are simply cool new floppy items with no special effects. I'd like to set them up to buff your spells in the future though.

An update around lobbies and online play for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection

An Online Arcade feature is currently in development, which will give players the opportunity to create private or public rooms, select the games they want to play, and invite friends to join in. Each room can host up to 16 players, and multiple games can be played simultaneously; think of it as your personal Mortal Kombat game room, filled with just the games you love most (including multiples of any given game – so if you want two MKII machines, you can do that!). On individual games within the room, players rotate playing in a classic arcade "winner stays" queue structure or they can choose to simply spectate. This lobby feature is much more robust than Quick Match and is more ambitious than Digital Eclipse has done in its previous games, so it demands additional testing both internally and from external partners before it's ready for players to enjoy. We expect this feature to be added via an update within a few weeks after launch, but this is dependent on internal and first-party approval timeframes, which can vary between platforms. Keep an eye on our socials for updates.

Bug Fixes & Technical Improvements

- Fixed an issue where potions and foods lasting over 1 hour displayed only the minute portion in the timer (e.g., a 1.5-hour potion appearing as 30 minutes).

- Major back-end improvements were made to the crafting system for all workbenches. This change does not affect gameplay but prevents potential material loss and production index confusion in future updates.

- Updated inventory item data to synchronize with the server (e.g., NPC sell prices and other inconsistent values).

- Fixed an issue on the European server where planted seeds could still be harvested 1–2 hours after their timer expired.

- Fixed untranslated text in newly added UI elements from the last update.

- Fixed the issue in Olympiad battles where LifeStaff’s Healing Zone and Life Infusion skills were unavailable.

- Fixed a bug where HP/MP did not visually regenerate upon entering the Olympiad.

- Fixed an issue where Olympiad Shining and costume effects were visible on invisible characters.

- Fixed an issue where forced teleports could result in instant death due to Fall Damage if the player was mid-air during teleportation.

- Fixed visual distortion in the Heroic Shining effect during movement.

- Fixed a bug where the cooldown reduction effect on the Dual Axe Ultimate Skill sometimes produced incorrect results.

- Fixed a visual bug on the equipment enhancement screen where the success rate increase was not shown when using the exact number of luck-boosting materials.

Gameplay & Balance Adjustments

- Added Alternative Skill Set System, players can now create multiple skill tree combinations for different weapon types. Extra skill pages can be permanently unlocked for all weapons via a store item.

- Increased plant yield from Harvesting to better support potion crafting needs.

- Reduced level requirement for 110-level accessory crafting profession from 75 > 70.

- Increased the spawn rate and numbers of sea creatures.

- The required material amount for Token material exchange has been reduced.

- The Alliance system has been temporarily disabled.

- For the European region, Clan Wars and Olympic War times have been moved forward by 1 hour.

Content & Features

- New costume armors added to the game.

- Login rewards refreshed, new reward list will activate after each 28-day period.

- Added Prize Wheel (Spin System) to the in-game store.

- Temporarily applied 50% discount to all costumes.

- Added Reference System reward: players entering a valid referral ID now receive 400 V-Coins.

- Added a 1-month transaction history to the Central Market for completed buy and sell orders.

UI & Visual Changes

- Removed icons from the top-left HUD to make room for a more refined interface system.

Skill Balance

Dual Axe:

- Bloodthirst skill damage increased from 260% > 300%.

- Savage Slash skill damage increased from 200% > 280%.

- Powerful Strike skill damage increased from 210% > 280%.

Two-Handed Sword:

- Heavy Swing skill damage increased from 210% > 270%.

- Berserker’s Rage cooldown reduced by 1 second.

- Paralyzing Slash skill damage increased from 250% > 270%.

To get into the spirit of the season, we tried out spooky compound designs using the modular building system. We added some new decorations like torches to juice up the nighttime atmosphere.

Spooky Halloween compound builds.

The transition from day to night has also been a big consideration for JOIN US. A lot of Teachings in the game revolve around times of day (your cult is stronger at night, you rest at sunset, etc) so we wanted to make sure that the game is equally playable at all points in the day/night cycle. The idea of an oppressively dark night didn't feel correct in a game where players might commit to a nighttime-focused play-through. This has lead to a lot of tweaking of moon size, moon intensity, and shadow contrast. Unreal has a quirk where the map can get very dark at the point where the sun and moon are both below the horizon and there's no direct light source - so we added a workaround that scales the brightness during those dawn/dusk windows.

We also tweaked spawners so that towns are less populated at night. Before that change you could go to a town at 3am and the streets were filled with civilians. Bedford Country doesn't really seem like a place with an active nightlife so we wanted to reflect more immersion with that system.

Being in Halloween mode got us to implement a test of GHOSTS; one branch of Teachings dives into 1920s spiritualism (seances etc) and lets you conjure the ghosts of your dead Followers. At first, they're about a useless as you would expect a ghost to be, but if you turn them into Poltergeists they can perform basic tasks on the compound.

We couldn't decide if the art test looked more like FromSoft ghosts or the ghosts in Lord of the Rings.

We also added a Halloween-adjacent Teaching where UFOs can show up at night to fry your enemies.

Showing proper respect to the aliens has its perks.
