Khakar's Testudo now adds +1 to armor for every 10 Shield Bearers on the battlefield instead of 15.

We're just coming back to life after PGA 2025!

It was an amazing adventure! Thank you to everyone who came, played, talked, and even supported us with warm words! It's really motivating!

As for the game itself... you did pretty well! You killed a total of 16,473 cultists, 15 bosses (actually 15 times the same one :D), and 48 mini-bosses. You collected 6,591 gold and 1,372 items! I don't even have a scale to measure the number of your deaths!

Bug Fixes
  • Superior commits weren't properly resetting with redeploys
  • Huge weapon damage buff bug. Weapons were being upgraded well beyond their level and this wasn't the intent. Weapons lost a lot of damage after the bug was fixed, and were subsequently buffed. See below under balance.

Quality of Life
  • Game boots with a black background now

Balance
  • First pass of balancing, with weapons getting 2 to 3 times their base damage across all tiers. Some weapons had their range extended, and others had a firing time increase
  • Offensive power scaled with level at a higher base rate than defensive - this is no longer the case. The intent was to make the game more lethal towards the end, but it became a game of "who can shoot first" and that's no fun.

As New World recognizes its fourth anniversary since launching on PC, we reflect on an incredible journey shaped by our dedicated player community. Your feedback and passion have been instrumental in evolving Aeternum into the world it is today, and our team is deeply grateful for this shared adventure. After four years of steady content updates and a major new console release, we've reached a point where it is no longer sustainable to continue supporting the game with new content updates.

The recently launched Season 10 and Nighthaven update will serve as the final content release for New World on PC and consoles. It is only after much consideration that we've reached this decision. To thank you, the New World community, for your support over the years, we have made the Nighthaven release available to you for free. To ensure all New World players can experience this content, we also made Rise of the Angry Earth free for all PC players.

The Last Winter Knight - ENDYSIS

Hello friends!

I've been at work as usual on The Last Winter Knight, but today I have to announce that its release date will now be delayed to quarter one of 2026.

I know that many of you have been looking forward to it, so I'm truly sorry to have to push back its release again. Solo development can be a struggle to juggle with life, and lately I've been feeling burnt out and not in a state to finish it before the end of the year -- much less try to release it during the hectic holiday period!

I think it's been long overdue that I take a real break, and hopefully I'll be refreshed and ready to tackle things again after. I truly hope you understand and as always appreciate your patience.

That doesn't mean I don't have updates about Winter Knight, though...

Progress Update

Sprites for the NPCs are finished, and scripting continues for chapter two.

Armour says a lot about a character, and I tried to put in hints about their history and who they are in their artwork!

Alas, sprites take a lot of time both to draw and program. Sometimes I prefer to add another CG instead of trying to do sprite work -- it's that tedious for me!

Like in Chapter One, your choices influence your outlook and personality, but now they affect relationships as well. Characters may only reveal certain things if they trust you...

Trail of Stars Steam Release

Trail of Stars, a short side story I made in January of this year with some talented folks is coming to Steam on November 13th!

This was only possible thanks to generous donations from itch players and my patreon supporters; I'm truly grateful for the chance to bring more of my library to a wider audience!

The Steam version will be the same as the Itch release (except with achievements!) so there's nothing new here story-wise. You also don't need to play it to understand Winter Knight's story or vice versa. It's simply a short and (bitter)sweet fairy tale about two young knights-in-training that you can enjoy in a single sitting.

The soundtrack will also be available for free.
