・You can now cancel when removing a card from your deck at the shop or upgrading a card at rest nodes.
 For event nodes, removing or upgrading a card charges the cost upon selection and cannot be cancelled.
・We have implemented stabilization measures to address the issue where pressing the special move button would not activate the special move even when Ki was full, and the sound effect would play inappropriately. (As the root cause has not been identified, this issue may continue to occur even after this measure is implemented.) In addition, the special move button now displays color when Ki is full and the move can be activated.
・A bug that occurred when adding the cancel control function for strengthening and deleting cards created in Ver.25.10.03, where it was not possible to cancel the viewer of the entire deck, deck cards during battle, discard cards, or discarded cards, has been fixed.
・Adjusted the tooltip display position.

Wow, it’s fall!

In case you just stumbled upon this devlog, I am Adrienne, also known as insertdisc5! This month, I drew things!

This month was all about adding everything about day 5 to the game. I’ve done a post on implementation a couple months ago so I won’t bore you with the details!

I also signed up for Peo Michie’s class on Intimacy and Characters for Comics and Illustrations, and it’s been very useful! Art-wise, working on Truth Scrapper has been challenging, since the characters have more realistic bodies than my previous game. AND since it’s a romance game, characters touch and interact with each other more often, so I wanted to get some advice from a pro!

One of the exercises for this class was to draw characters’ heads from various angles (so you can make ‘em kiss later), so I decided to do that for the three main characters. And let me tell you. NOW I CAN DRAW BETZ’S HAIR ON MODEL FOR SURE

After doing that, I spent a couple days updating some illustrations and portraits from previous days, to make sure they looked accurate. Some are definitely an improvement and everyone will agree, and some are improvements only to me, but let me tell you, WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT IT IS. BETZ YOU FINALLY LOOK LIKE SOMETHING.

In other news, I’ve done some prep and finally created some business cards for the game, to remind people to wishlist when we show the demo during conventions. We did that for In Stars and Time as well, and since I’m very good at doing business cards (and adding some spot gloss), I usually ran out of cards fairly quickly! I’ll get them in a couple weeks, so I’m excited to see how they look in person…

🎃 Halloween has begun in the Zone!

A time when even the bravest stalkers avoid the old locations… They say that at night, something awakens on the abandoned bases, and a strange Scarecrow once again seeks those daring enough to help him save Halloween.

New Features
  • Added a new location — Ghost Base. Many players will recognize it from the first part of the game.

  • Added a quest that unlocks the Ghost Base location. It can be taken from Brodyaga at the Freedom Stalkers Base after completing the mission to search for the helicopter in Pripyat.

  • Added a new monster found on the Ghost Base location.

  • Added a new Halloween quest, available from the Scarecrow at the Freedom Stalkers Base :)

  • Added a new Halloween artifact — “Pumpkin of Darkness”, which can only be found in one of the raid locations after receiving the quest from the Scarecrow.

  • Added a new Halloween artifact — “Bloody Pumpkin”, which can only be found in one of the raid locations after receiving the quest from the Scarecrow.

  • Added a new Halloween artifact — “Golden Pumpkin”, which can only be found in one of the raid locations after receiving the quest from the Scarecrow.

  • Added the ability to adjust controller position along the X and Y axes in the main menu settings. This is especially useful for players using Pico headsets to align hand position or fine-tune the wrist angle.

Changes and Improvements
  • Fixed a rare issue where it was impossible to restart a dialogue without changing location.

  • Fixed a bug on the “Perimeter-2 Tunnels” level, where the code hint in one of the PDAs changed after death and reloading.

  • Removed AM / PM indicators from the PDA clock — it now displays in-game time in a 24-hour format.

  • Minor adjustments on the raid location “Military Town.”

  • Increased the amount of guaranteed loot on the raid location “Abandoned Village.”

  • The leaderboard now records the current financial result at the moment of selling items on the Black Market, instead of the maximum value.

Due to changes in the progress tracking system, the leaderboard has been reset.

Gameplay Improvements
  1. HP and SP are now explicitly displayed in the HUD instead of icons.

  2. When the stamina gauge is full, an animation effect has been added to the gauge, and an SFX plays to make it easier to recognize.

  3. The jump logic has been revised. The issue where a jump would be canceled by landing mid-air has been fixed.

  4. A tutorial text providing gameplay assistance will appear daily for the first 5 days.

  5. Partial adjustments have been made to game balance.

Bug Fixes
  1. Fixed an issue where the DAY indicator did not display correctly after sleeping at the inn and advancing to the next day.

  2. Fixed an issue where Soul items occasionally left ghostly traces on the screen.

  3. Added a fix to prevent item acquisition text from lingering on the screen.

  4. Fixed an issue where players couldn't jump onto the bottom of vertically moving platforms.

Neon Rain - Neon Brain

Fixed an issue regarding a platform that made backtracking not very possible in level 1.

Fixed an issue regarding the compass not turning off during a boss fight.

Tweaked the buttons texts in the item menu to prevent a weird warp.

Made so that clicking any mouse buttons let you enter the main menu.

Next update I will be adding the option to auto b-hop for people who want a more casual experience. Note that the speed will be capped when turned on to avoid making it a "I win" button.

Idle Idle - Mr. Steeze

Localisation is now in Idle Idle, with a grand total of 1 new language!

Idle Idle can now be played in either English or Norwegian - to change the language, you can either click the language icon upon first open, or via the settings menu.

More languages are on the way in the future, so keep an eye out for those!

Arena of Suffering - LordKemp

One of the things that I've found the hardest to change about RPG Maker's systems is the "simple" stuff: menus, raw layout, etc. It fights back when you try to reset some of the engine's defaults. I'd really like to improve our UI/UX. Because the default system is well known, I don't think that many users are going to have any problems figuring out how to play, but I'd like to make those important details more fun and functional over time (for future games and for Arena too, if at all possible).

Which JRPG has the best UI in recent years from your experiences? In terms of looks, the most recent Atelier really impressed me. They've not usually been at the forefront for graphics (fun gameplay though). But Resleriana looks great. Gorgeous menus. I want to make awesome menus.
