In the past few days, several improvements have been made to Tawa: Lost in Time to make the experience smoother, more alive, and more immersive:
đŽ Gameplay & Controls
Added a temporary object toggle system: some objects now disable for 15 seconds after interaction, then automatically reactivate.
Created a dual-action system on the C key:
Object 1 always disables for 15 seconds (uninterruptible).
Object 2 toggles its state (on/off) with every press of C.
When running (Shift), Object 2 is automatically turned off to avoid logic or visual conflicts.
Improved hunger and stamina system: automatic regeneration, progressive loss, and deeper integration with health.
Water and food zones now restore hunger and health when pressing E.
New: You can now sleep inside shelters surrounded by trees.
A sleep animation (âdodoâ) now plays, allowing Tawa to rest and recover stamina.

Improved checkpoint and respawn system: smooth return to the last active burrow without reloading the scene.
đż Optimization & Tech
Reduced GPU memory load by improving texture streaming and VRAM handling.
Adjusted shadow distance and resolution for better performance in large open areas.
Cleaned up unnecessary console logs in stat scripts.
Fixed movement animation transitions for more natural flow.

Refined dragonfly and bird AI for more natural flight and reactions.
Adjusted Introduced groundwork for âDigâ events in special dark spots tied to story progression.

Hello,
I wanted to share some information about the future of the game, the demo, and what to expect going forward. These decisions were difficult, but theyâre ultimately for the best.
As Iâve mentioned before, Iâm a final-year university student currently working on my thesis and completing my last mandatory course. This naturally affects the pace of development.
The main reason for publishing the demo and store page was to gain academic credits from my university.
Iâm not planning for Astrobarian to participate in the next Steam Next Fest, because the timing just isnât right.
For those who may not know: games on Steam can only participate once in a Steam Next Fest so itâs a one-time opportunity for each title.
The demo has been temporarily removed, as it no longer represents the current state of the main gameâs functionality.
Thanks to all the feedback and data gathered, Iâm confident about making better decisions moving forward and bringing the game back even stronger.

1. Fixed an issue where building upgrades could malfunction under certain conditions.

The Afterlife is celebrating Halloween! You can now find Halloween-themed decorations in the Lobby and certain areas of [Chaos Gate of the Afterlife].
The Lobby BGM in [Chaos Gate of the Afterlife] has been changed to a Halloween theme.

Adjusted responsiveness for background structures with roofs. Players now need to move closer for roof transparency to take effect.

The [Whoâs With You?] mode now supports the [Knowledge is Power] variant.
In âLearn the Game - Soul Trainingâ mode, AI bots can now move and hunt. Eliminate all bots to winâbut attacking the wrong target will result in death.
AI bots will not attack in Soul Training mode.
AI bots now wear random costumes.

Preta can now devour the corpses of dead players using its ability (L-Shift interaction).
If the player stays within the corpseâs area for 5 seconds, the corpse is consumed and grants 12 coins.

The cooldown of Woochiâs ability [Magic Arts!] has been slightly reduced.
[Magic Arts!] Cooldown: 15s â 13s
[Magic Arts!] now activates in a fixed sequence instead of randomly.
Activation order: Flash East! Flash West! â Clone Technique! â 7th Wish
The digestion time after kidnapping has been adjusted.
[Kidnap] kill timer: 44s â equal to the gameâs [Daytime] duration (default 60s).
Dokkaebi players can now pass through their own [Dokkaebi Statue].
Other players will still be blocked by the statue.

The horizontal version of the Tail Tag Relationship Chart (added in the 10.02 update) has been rolled back to the previous circular version.
The horizontal version will be implemented later for the mobile edition of *Whoâs Next?*

The method of choosing between two clues has been reverted to random acquisition.

Drowner - Vengeful Spirit of the Water

The Drowner, a soul drowned in water, is said to be filled with resentment and vengeance, seeking to drag others into the same fate.
However, it is often seen crying like a childâperhaps longing for someone who might understand the pain of its untimely death.
Type: Attack / Death

Soul Ability â Drown with Me!
Cooldown: Once per Night
Duration: 10 seconds
After death, you revive for 10 seconds, able to move and attackâbut only the enemy who killed you.
If you successfully defeat them, you revive completely, gaining +35% movement speed while revived.
Revival (Ability Activation)

Successful Kill (Full Revival)

If the Drowner attacks a non-target during revival, it vanishes (dies again).
If the Drowner fails to take revenge within the duration, it vanishes.
The direction of the revenge target is displayed to the Drowner.
While revived, the Drowner is invincible.
The Drowner can use tools while revived.
The Drowner can be affected by tools while revived.
The Drowner can attack during both Day and Night while revived.
Activates only when killed by an attack (includes Gumihoâs Charm and Sackmanâs Kidnap).
Does not activate if killed by [No Takebacks] or [Changgwi].
If revived during the Day, time spent in Twilight does not reduce the duration.
In a 1v1 situation, if the Drowner is killed, it revives and may attack; the opponent wins if they survive 10 seconds.
Even if full revival succeeds during the Day, the ability can be reused at Night (1 charge per Night).
In [Whoâs With You?] mode, if the Drowner is killed by an ally, it can take revenge and survive⌠Discuss for 10 seconds who benefits from that outcome.
A Halloween-exclusive jump-scare mode!
Eliminated players can now scare the remaining survivors!
Honcheon - General / Default: ON
Dead players can set Ghost Traps to startle the living. Traps recharge upon death or each Twilight (3 charges).
All Ghost Traps are invisible to survivors, but visible to all ghosts.
Use the bottom button to place a trap at your current location.

Ghost Trap: triggers when a survivor touches it, activating a random jump scare!


Honcheon - Environment / Default: OFF
When receiving a Daily Task clue, you can now choose the clue type.

Eight new Halloween-themed costumes have been added.
Halloween-themed items can be purchased from the in-game shop.
Log in during the Halloween Festival (10/25 ~ 11/5) to receive one random costume from the 8-piece set!
