Revelation of Decay - 我不是下地狱了吗怎么还要上班
Hello everyone! Since the release of the two-player co-op Demo during Steam Next Fest, nearly twenty thousand players have jumped into Revelation of Decay. The enthusiasm from all of you survivors has probably outnumbered the zombies themselves (they’re shaking right now)!
Your active participation and feedback have helped me discover many valuable issues and have also motivated me even more to continue down this development path. Thank you all sincerely for your support and company along the way.
Although Steam Next Fest has officially ended, we noticed that hundreds of players are still playing the demo every day. This truly surprised and encouraged the team. Since many players might not be done with their journey yet, we’ve decided to keep the Demo available for a while longer.

While developing daily, I’ve also been paying attention to the discussions and questions players are raising across different communities. Many of the frequently asked questions actually come from the current Demo’s limited content, and also from the game not clearly informing players that “this is the end of the Demo”. Topics such as food decay speed, weapon durability, and sidekick AI are also widely discussed, and they are indeed areas I plan to focus on improving later.
So, in this Developer Log, I’d like to respond to these questions in the form of a FAQ:

【About Bugs in the Demo】
Q: Some areas on the map can’t be entered, or the game crashes when I try to go in. Is this a bug?
A: Nope, it’s not a bug. Some map areas are simply not available in the current Demo yet—sorry we didn’t explain this clearly in the game!
The current Demo contains only part of the full game content to help players experience the basic gameplay. Some already developed content (such as the Snowfield Map we mentioned before) is not presented in its complete form. You may have noticed certain entrances on the map or objects that look like they can be interacted with—but they actually belong to content not included in this Demo, such as certain Snowfield locations or flower pots on the second floor that you currently can’t interact with.

Q: How exactly do I get Copper Ore in the Demo!?
A: If you’re asking this, you’ve probably unlocked crafting missions related to Copper Ore and discovered that it’s extremely hard to obtain. That’s on us—sorry about that.
During map design, we wanted to highlight resource differences between regions, so each large area yields different materials. In the full game, Copper Ore appears in mid-to-late game areas, which are not yet available in this Demo. So currently, there is no stable way to acquire it in the Demo.
That said, a few sharp-eyed players have already found “loopholes”—for example, a small stretch of snowy terrain to the right of the Farming Station does contain Copper Ore. But again, this source isn’t meant to be stable yet. Feel free to try your luck, but don’t worry—Copper won’t be this rare in the full release!

【About Demo Optimization】
Q: Food spoils way too fast right now!
A: We’ve noticed this has been a major frustration for many players. The food spoilage rate is indeed too fast in the early stages of the game, and it has a strong impact on survival experience. However, according to our long-term design (some of you might have already seen hints of this in missions), anti-decomposition equipment such as refrigerators will become craftable later in the game. As we continue to unlock more content, you’ll eventually be able to build a fully equipped base and store plenty of resources with peace of mind!

Q: The protagonist talks too much—why are those speech bubbles nonstop!?
A: We hear you—yes, you’ll be able to turn them off. We will add an option in the settings menu to disable speech bubbles entirely if you prefer. In addition, during combat we will hide them by default to prevent blocking visibility and improve immersion during intense battles.

Q: The sidekick AI is kind of dumb… will this get better?
A: Absolutely. We’re planning to send all sidekicks to advanced training. In future updates, each sidekick will have unique traits—for example, some may revive unconscious allies, while others might boost your ranged weapon damage. Everyone will have their own specialty—no more dead weight, only reliable companions who truly support your journey.

Q: Are the weapons made of glass? They break way too fast.
A: This mainly happens because the Demo represents the early survival phase, where resources are scarce. In later versions, we will improve weapon durability in two ways:
1.Weapon Modification Parts – We’ll add more upgrade mods that increase weapon durability so you can custom-build sturdier weapons.
2.Weapon Reinforcement System – Once a weapon reaches max level, you’ll be able to reinforce it. Reinforced weapons will no longer break, so you can finally keep your favorite weapon as a legendary heirloom!

Q: The main mission keeps forcing repetitive combat and cleanup like it's toilet duty—this gets boring fast.
A: Continuous missions can help provide short-term goals, but in the long run they can indeed become repetitive grinds, which hurts the experience. That’s why we’re planning a major overhaul of the entire mission system—including Main Missions, Tutorial Missions, and Journey Missions. Our next development phase will focus heavily on mission variety and pacing, aiming to bring more diverse mission experiences and gameplay possibilities.

Also, regarding controller support—yes, it has long been part of our development plan. However, due to the complexity of game systems and our frequent iteration cycles (as many of you know, we love rebuilding things from scratch), the Demo does not yet support controllers. But in the full release, we will have full controller support, including customizable button layouts so you can optimize your loadout whether you prefer keyboard or controller. Zombie-slaying efficiency UP UP!

Whew! In the coming phase, we will be diving back into system optimization and new content development—our to-do list is already overflowing. As a little teaser, we’re working on new environments, new enemy types, and new weapons and items.

(Currently in development: the boss Laser Hornet)

If you have any thoughts or suggestions on these improvement plans, feel free to reach out via our official Discord or leave a comment. Also, if you enjoyed the Demo, we’d really appreciate it if you could add the game to your Wishlist and leave a review on the Demo—your support truly helps us a lot!
Crossout - Faley016

Hello, survivors! We’re certain that many of you have already had the chance to look into the eyes of the infamous millipedes and experience the horror of inevitable destruction. And if not, then join the battle! The most tactical and nimble of you will find a way to make the unwanted guests on the battlefield your “allies”.

Attention! The brawl will be available from October 23 to October 29 inclusive!

  • “Gaze into the abyss” is a battle between two teams with preset Ravager armoured cars.

  • To win, your team must score points faster than the enemy team and control as many bases as possible to receive increased points for destroying enemies.

  • Be careful: large centipedes roam the location, and they are equally hostile towards you and your opponents. They attack the player closest to them and cannot be destroyed (but you can hide from them or divert their attention to another player who is closer).

  • The reward for the battles of the mode is “Tricky treats” for the Halloween event workbench.

Rewards for the special challenges:
  • Containers: “Fright container”, “Military reserve” (2 pcs.), “Logistician’s container”.

  • “Dark chrome” paint.

  • 100 Engineer badges.
