🎃 Cosmic Castaway – Halloween Update & Playtest Changes!
Hey spacefarers! Based on your playtest feedback, we’ve made some exciting changes to Cosmic Castaway. Let’s dive in:
✨ New Level Select System
Gone are the days of piloting between planets just to start a level. You now flip through a cosmic book to access each solar system. Every planet contains 2–3 levels, making it easier to jump into the action and explore at your own pace.
The old system looked cool but slowed things down. This new approach gets you to the good stuff faster.
🌌 Environmental Enhancements
We’ve started adding more environmental assets to make each world feel alive and immersive. It’s still a work in progress, but you’ll notice a richer atmosphere as you play.
🛠️ Bug Fixes
We’ve squashed several bugs—especially those affecting building placement. Thanks to everyone who flagged these!
📚 Tutorial Improvements
The tutorial now sticks with you longer, guiding you more intuitively instead of vanishing after a few prompts. New players should find it more helpful.
👻 World 4: The Halloween Update
The playtest now includes just two worlds:
The Tutorial World
The brand-new Halloween-themed World 4
If you’ve already completed the tutorial, you can jump straight into World 4—no star requirements needed!
This spooky new world introduces:
🎃 Halloween-themed environments
🧟 New enemies, including a ranged attacker type for added challenge

An update ahead of Halloween! A new eerie arena opens its doors and invites you to visit the Cemetery, where restless undead await their opponents - Zombies and Vampires.

Patch changes list:
- Added a new team - Zombies;
- Added a new team - Vampires;
- Added a new arena - Cemetery;
- Added unique super strikes for the new teams: "Tombstone" and "Bat Swarm."
A small tip about the super strike:
To activate the super strike, you need to accumulate energy, which team members gain when the opponent's goalkeeper deflects the ball. When fully charged, the super strike is automatically applied.

Hi Folks!
Finally the bug affecting the cleanup items and the cleanup objective has been fixed!
So it is no longer possible to exploit and go above the limit or spam clicking NPCs to obtain more clean-up items.

It's been a jam packed few weeks with various quality of life improvements, bug fixes, preparing the demo... and most importantly of all, adding achievements.
We're approaching this in two halves, with the first batch released in v1.0.9 which is out now for our community beta testers. The second batch will be following in the next few days in v1.1.0 once they've been through the rigorous testing process and we've given our main tester a pat on the back for good work.
Also coming up in v1.1.0 is a new game mode: Hard Mode - we've been play testing and refining it ready for beta release... it's driving us mad but we can't help but love it, we hope you will too.
