Hello humans!
We just released a tiny hotfix that fixes two issues:
Twitch Mode login - A while back the little link to log in to twitch mode broke. The new flow does not go via any dodgy links, and should be much easier to use. Let us know if you experience any issues with it!
Unity vulnerability - Unity released an update for a security vulnerability that affected every game ever built in it, including this one! We have now updated to the latest version, and the only security vulnerability left in the game should be that the garbage room forcefield sometimes lets humans get through it.
Please enjoy this more secure experience!
Oh, but while you're here, did you know that we are working on a new big update???
Look forward to an overhaul of Character Customization and the ability to ride around on a sawblade unicycle! Incredible!
ok that's it. Have a good day!
Cheers,
Erik
Hi everyone!
Steam Next Fest is over, and I want to say thanks to everyone who played the demo! I was really happy (and a bit embarrassed) to see people playing my game, discovering strategies and having fun. I truly appreciate all your suggestions, bug reports and kind words!
Thanks to your feedback, I got some ideas of which parts of gameplay I need to adjust to make the game better!
Some highlights from Steam Next Fest:
- Into the Depths reached over 1000 wishlists
- More than 1000 people played the demo!
This might not sound like much compared to other games, but it means a lot to me.
In the meanwhile, you can wishlist the game (if you haven't done it already) and sign up for the playtest on the Steam page! I'm planning to release a new version for playtesters sometime in November. It'll include major gameplay changes and, probably, some new content.
See you around!
Halloween has arrived in Damned 2! This major update introduces the new Relic Hunt mode, flashlight cosmetics, banners, and dozens of new tasks, along with haunted decorations across every map.
A brand-new way to escape!
Search the maps for hidden relics, deliver them to the elevator, and escape once you’ve gathered enough Tribute.
Each relic has a physical presence and may carry a curse, making the journey harder.
Work together — multiple survivors can carry the same relic, but heavy objects will slow you down.
Customize the challenge with new Relic Hunt Difficulty Options to adjust how demanding each match feels.
Flashlights now join the cosmetic lineup!
Eight new designs are available to unlock through the Halloween tasks:
Oldy Rusty
Orange Can
Space Toy
Sugar Moon
Gold
Royal Decay
Catlight
Devil’s Torch
Also unlock three special animated banners:
Marked by the Flame — Exclusive to players who join the Halloween 2025 Event.
Host of the Relics — New banner celebrating the Relic Hunt mode.
Blood God (Remade) — Reworked with new art and visual effects.
New weight system affects how survivors carry physical items.
The Great Vault has been reworked — smaller starting area and new Relic-only doors to improve pacing.
Halloween decorations now fill every map, lobby, and the main menu!
New Flashlight cosmetic tab in the player profile.
Updated tooltips with real-time task progress feedback.
Added unlock notifications for completed tasks.
Revamped difficulty selection menu with a new custom options button (look for the gear icon next to the difficulty button!).
Monster UI now displays energy values.
Added option to use default flashlight colors for skins.
Lobbies now show the selected game mode.
Fixed preset not updating on the UI lobby button.
Added “How to Play” mini-tutorial for survivors.
General polish and optimizations for smoother matches.
This update marks the start of the Halloween 2025 Event, live from October 20 to December 1.
Earn limited-time rewards, explore haunted maps, and unlock the exclusive “Marked by the Flame” banner before it disappears.
- Fixed robot shooting sound issue.
- Fixed enemy death desynchronization issue.
- Fixed game stats board not syncing properly with clients.
- Fixed robot grappling hook.
Thank you for your support!
We’re seeing intermittent connection errors that also disrupted some in-game systems. Hopefully, we will have this resolved within a day.
There are reports of upstream provider incidents today; we’re investigating whether they contributed. Regardless, the responsibility is ours and we’re rolling out fixes.
We’re sorry for the rough launch, and we appreciate your patience.
