This update focuses on improving car handling and collision behavior.

  • Super Car Handling: Adjusted steering to reduce under steer, making it more responsive and balanced at high speeds.

  • Debris Interaction: Small objects that get under the car no longer lift it up. They’re now disabled and pushed down automatically. Driving over debris is much smoother.

  • Boost Balance: Reduced the power of NOS and Rocket Boost slightly for better control and less instability during use.

There are only a couple changes since the 1.08 Update, but this is the 9th update and the game has been significantly enhanced since the July initial release. So we are declaring a Major Update and we invite players who looked at it a few months ago to now look again. The game functionality and balance is solid and the UX has improved significantly. We do intend to renew focus on the UI and polishing it now that the features are fully built out.

  • Replaced the map icons with a better palette of shiny ones

  • Adjusted Demand Facilities that are unlocked by pipelines and power lines to only unlock when built. (so you can't build them early with extra money)

Vertical Velocity 2.0 — The Full Rehaul Update

The 2.0 update completely overhauls Vertical Velocity from the ground up.
This build refines every system — from player physics and camera behavior to boss encounters, audio, and UI — resulting in tighter controls, smoother flow, and a much more polished experience overall.


Core Systems & Player
  • Rebuilt PlayerLauncher with drag thresholds, cooldowns, perfect launches, and velocity caps.

  • Added perfect launch particles and SFX.

  • Unified collision and death handling through the new GameManager.

GameManager
  • Implemented as a persistent Singleton.

Friends, it's with great joy that I announce the launch of our Beta 1.7, the version of the game we've been working on offline for 10 months! Not only are we releasing Beta 1.7, but we're also already working on the first beta hotfix update to deliver a more stable and better game for you!

An OPEN PLAYTEST will be available to the public! There are only 50 spots available, so hurry up and request access on the Decomposition page! The Beta launch will be on October 25, 2025!

The game isn't complete and is a little far from being ready. However, my personal goal is to deliver a solid Beta, with plenty of content for the end player! Additionally, we've made some changes internally and decided to launch in early access, with at least 50% of the game finished. This represents at least 3 of the game's 9 chapters fully playable, totaling around 6 to 8 hours of gameplay, depending on the player, to deliver you solid content.

The Early Access launch is scheduled for December 25, 2025, in approximately two months!

But right now, it's important that you play the Beta so we can improve the current version and, consequently, the Early Access Beta version.
