Gameplay

  • Grant +1 Respawn to all players
  • Increase base amount of health gained from Health Terminals +10% → +20%

    • Updated Ranks to include +% Damage and +% Weak Point Damage
  • Added additional upgrade Ranks for Grenade Launcher, Plasma Caster, and Rocket Launcher

Bug Fixes

  • Event Structures (eg. Spider Eggs, Machine Turrets) will once again have their health scaled appropriately with difficulty and challenge level
  • Fixed a bug that could cause you to receive multiple popups to open the tutorial when joining a multiplayer game on a fresh account. This may have also been the cause for some issues joining multiplayer games.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause some FrankenBeans VFX not to play on clients
  • Monolithic Head now consistently plays VFX when it hits something.
  • Hid certain internal stats from display on meats.

Known Issues

  • Observer camera is still in a very rough prototype form
  • No optimization effort has been made towards more constrained platforms like Steam Deck
  • Native builds on Linux are still not battle tested. You'll probably need to run under Proton for best results
Abiotic Factor - CrissCrossGal
[h5]Greetings, esteemed colleagues![/h5]
As 1.0 looms near, we know some scientists are probably in various scenarios in terms of where they’ve progressed in the story of Abiotic Factor. Therefore, we’re providing you with something of a guide to getting back into the game when 1.0 opens its blast doors.

First, please make sure you’ve read the 1.0 Save Upgrading Guide, then return here.

If you are in one of the following categories, this blog post is for you.
  • You are currently in the midst of your adventure, anywhere beyond or near the end of Manufacturing Sector.
  • You have completed all of the current content up to the end of the Dark Energy update.
  • You’re on your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th playthrough (or more!) and are well versed in the ins and outs of Abiotic Factor.
  • Any of the above, either actively playing or planning to play at 1.0 launch.
If you aren’t in one of these categories, you can safely skip this blog post, because you’re either relatively new to the game or the changes we’re about to discuss won’t affect you unless you eventually find yourself in one of the above categories before 1.0 releases.

This blog post will also contain some Dark Energy spoilers (concerning the end of ABF’s last major update), so please read the header on each section before proceeding to read further. If you feel you're getting too deep into stuff you’re not familiar with, close the browser tab and get outta here! This is your last spoiler warning. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Let’s begin talking about each scenario in order of spoiler-intensity (from earliest to latest), what you will do next, and what you need to know when the 1.0 update hits.

Scenario A: I’m beyond or at least very near the end of Manufacturing Sector

Congratulations, you have survived the Office Sector and progressed far, fighting off squads of Order troops and maybe even riding aboard the Train!

When 1.0 drops, you will have access to a new piece of technology – The Enhancement Bench.

This recipe will require Manufacturing-tier resources and give you access to a ton of new weaponry and armor. This may be slightly overwhelming at first, especially if you’re deep into the adventure and now have tons of stuff you can upgrade.

The Enhancement Bench was planned to allow lots of additional combat and protection options through the entire game and it will absolutely shift the balance some, especially in tougher areas. We hope our scientists enjoy these new tools and toys.

If you aren’t planning on restarting from the beginning of the game, you may see a lot of items, including items you thought you no longer needed, with a blue arrow on their icon. This indicates that an upgrade is available for the item, and you know the items that are required to upgrade it.

The item tooltip will also state this clearly. Example below.

If you see this blue arrow, visit the Enhancement Bench, pop the item into the slot, and see what you might have available! These upgrades will help you bring old items up to snuff for later encounters. We highly recommend exploring this system, and we’ve intentionally left much of it up to the scientific community to explore and find all the upgrades that might be available. We recommend checking all of your old armor and favorite weapons, for starters.

Even if an item doesn’t have a blue arrow, you could throw it on the Enhancement Bench anyway just in case, and you might see there’s a yet-unknown upgrade that lay ahead.

If nothing shows up on the Enhancement Bench when you place an item into it, that means the item doesn’t have any upgrades.

We will also note that many of the military weaponry that require Biometric Locks can often have this Biometric requirement removed by upgrading with the right items.

On to the next scenario!

Scenario B: I’ve completed all of the current content up to the end of the Dark Energy update.

Well lah-dee-dah, aren’t you fancy and cool and probably smart! Look at you blitzing through the content and / or taking your time getting your science just right.

Either way, you’re a legend, and you deserve respect. But come 1.0, along with the above Enhancement Bench / item upgrading information, you might not remember exactly how to continue your adventure.

If you didn’t finish Dark Energy, you really need to stop reading here or risk major spoilers. Final warning.

Will new players struggle with this if we tenured scientists require instructions?

We don’t think so. When you venture through the story one beat after the next, none of this is too hidden. We simply feel our veteran scientists might actually struggle here, having both so much knowledge and having also explored so thoroughly. In this scenario, the changes might be overlooked. Hence, this guide.

Alright, refresh my memory!

Certainly. You may recall at the end of Dark Energy, you found yourself hopping into a massive portal where previously a large entity was trapped in chains of sorts, and you freed it from the Gatekeepers, because you’re a standup researcher.

Upon entering this massive portal, you were taken to a strange floating isle in Far Garden, a far-flung region of Anteverse 2. Beyond this, a strange golden portal, which took you to an unknown location, we now know is The Praetorium.

This is where your adventure resumes.

How do I get back to The Praetorium?

We may need to jog your memory here, so let’s talk about the two ways back to The Praetorium.

Option A: You already opened the shortcut back to the Facility, which is a golden portal found in a small room at the center of The Reactors. Here is an image below.

If this portal is not present, you have not opened this shortcut yet and will need to take Option B.

Option B: Go back through Shadowgate (GATE Intrados Facility) and to the end portal where the strange creature was previously in chains. Below is an image of the entrance to Shadowgate and the portal in question, along with the next portal.

I found The Praetorium! Where do I go now?

Great work! Next, you’ll need to find our favorite High Inquisitor, Hasta Tria. Search around a bit, he’s not too hard to find. Even if you spoke with him before the update, speak with him again. He has some important information, believe it or not!

Once you speak with him, he’ll bring you up to speed and also unlock a specific door for you. This large door is in another hallway tied to a button, you’ll find both together with a bit of searching.

If you get lost here, just follow the waypoints for the quest. They should get you pointed in the right direction.

From there, you’re on your way to uncovering the mysteries of The Praetorium and beyond. We cannot guide you the rest of the way, but we’re sure you’ll find some friends along the frigid road ahead… Eventually.

What about Residence Sector?

You’ll get there, but first, you need something important. Just follow the rat and hear him out. He’s not so bad, we feel. At the very least, he has information, if not wisdom. We’ll let you decide which statements are which.

Oh, and one more thing…

We shrunk the Repair Bench. We’re sorry or you’re welcome, depending on how you feel about this change.

That’s all for now. See you July 22nd for 1.0!

DinoSystem - DanielDev
This update IS compatible with savegames from previous v0.98.0!

OVERVIEW:

Hello there!
Unless major bugs or balance issues arise, this will likely be the final update for version 0.98.
The next update, version 0.99, will take several months to develop and will break savegame compatibility. This is necessary in order to migrate the game to a new and better wrapper (WebView 2), and will hopefully be the last time saves become incompatible (knock on wood).

Version 0.99 will also introduce a completely reworked tutorial and an optional emergent narrative system, designed to give the game a stronger sense of progression and something similiar to a lore. It will not rely on AI, but is entirely custom-built and will require a significant amount of work.

As always, feel free to leave feedback and report potential issues: I'll make sure to patch asap if necessary!

Here the changes of the latest update (0.98.8):

INTERFACE:

- (Survival) Fish/Insects population mouseover tooltips now show ">" after Fish/Insects, instead of ":" (example: "Fish> FEW").

- (God) Added hour/min counter next to day, and rearranged other counters.

- Minor interface fixes.

SURVIVAL:

- Stamina consumption reduced globally by 10%.

- During Fishing, it's now possible to prompt a manual attempt with click/key even if the mini-game is disabled.

- In Realistic+ difficulty, most actions will now "pause" while scouting far away from the character, and resume as soon as the scouting ends.

- It's now possible to progress during Light Fire action while scouting (previously it would simply not progress / minigame would not allow striking).

OBJECTS:

- Pine Cones have a very low chance of storing six nuts, instead of 5 max.

TUTORIAL & MANUAL:

- Added a new Manual page explaining Survival's Difficulty.

- Updated Manual Fishing page.

- Minor improvements to the Manual.

FIXES:

- Fixed a small bug with the newly added resolution setting.

- Fixed minor issues.

NBA 2K26 - Gabe2K

It’s been a long and exciting journey to this point—and we couldn’t have reached it without you. Our team at Visual Concepts has listened carefully to community feedback and applied these learnings in earnest.

Over the next few weeks, leading up to Advanced Access starting August 29 and the global launch on September 5, we’ll unveil the new features, enhancements, and innovations coming to NBA 2K26 on PC; from a renewed focus on skill-based gameplay to fresh and authentic storytelling, and much more.

But because we’re so excited to share these updates, we wanted to give the community an early teaser. Mark your calendar—you won’t want to miss these gameplay and game mode reveals!

GAMEPLAY - FULL REVEAL WEEK OF JULY 28

Rewarding Skill-Based Gameplay

We prefaced it in the introduction, but this year in NBA 2K26 we really wanted to hone in on rewarding skill-based gameplay, where your actions on the sticks fully control and translate to the outcomes you see in-game. You’ll feel this point of emphasis across multiple gameplay areas, including shot outcomes, blocks, steals, loose balls, and rebounds.

Higher difficulties, including most competitive multiplayer modes, will play with Green or Miss Jump Shot Timing this year to yield a heightened competitive atmosphere. Based on community feedback, Shot Meters and Dunk Meters both show you your green windows, similar to NBA 2K24’s. In addition, Layup Timing is permanently enabled to separate skilled finishers and make those highly contested finishes at the rim even more spectacular and impressive.

New Tools for Offense and Defense

Get ready to elevate your game and feel the pulse of the pros with new moves that empower you with deeper control in the post and more control and customization over how you attack the rim. Lock down the paint and stay in perfect position with improved player-to-player contact on the floor and in the air, with improved footwork and defensive counters for a truly competitive experience.

This is just a sample of this year’s improvements to on-court gameplay; check back again later this month for the full breakdown.

MyPLAYER BUILDER - FULL REVEAL WEEK OF AUGUST 4

Build with New Insights

We know how important the process of creating your MyPLAYER is, which is why we’ve added more depth and quality-of-life improvements to the Builder to help you better understand the type of build you’re making.

With new advanced tools—like the ability to preview unlockable Body Types—and more, the MyPLAYER Builder is packed with upgrades designed to give you more context, more control, and more ways to create your perfect build.

Fresh Playstyles Year-Round

The MyPLAYER Builder in NBA 2K26 doubles down on everything the community loved in NBA 2K25, and more. Cap Breakers return with big improvements alongside even more new ways to improve upon your build that reward smarter progression and give you new ways to evolve your playstyle all year long.

The 5-level Takeover & Takeover Ability system returns with a streamlined progression system and gives you more control over how you dominate the court.

MyPLAYER Build Diversity

The MyPLAYER Builder has been balanced to ensure that all heights short and tall can be effective on the court and encourage more build diversity. Overall, the MyPLAYER Builder remains intuitive for beginners, but veteran players can dive deeper into creating their perfect build.

August keeps the ball rolling with the full MyPLAYER Builder Courtside Report, expanding on the aforementioned new insights, fresh playstyles, and build diversity with a host of other new enhancements.

MyTEAM - FULL REVEAL WEEK OF AUGUST 11

It’s a Party in Triple Threat Park

Triple Threat Park returns to take over a new location with a whole new vibe. With new ways to play alongside or against your friends, squad up with your plus-one, go head-to-head in various formats, and with community feedback in mind, earn even more collection-improving rewards throughout Triple Threat Park!

King of the Court, presented by AT&T

Based on community feedback, King of the Court, presented by AT&T, is now more accessible to compete for VC. Each King of the Court event will take place during a full-weekend window, extending beyond the previous limited 4-hour time slot on Saturdays. We’ve got plenty more details to share, so check back in August for the full scoop.

There’s some big news coming to MyTEAM this year; stay tuned for the full reveal.

MyCAREER - FULL REVEAL WEEK OF AUGUST 18

MyCAREER: Out of Bounds

NBA 2K26’s immersive MyCAREER prelude story takes players where they’ve never gone before in Out of Bounds. Watch your draft stock rise as you outshine your opponents. But there are now more consequences to your story games and choices. If you don’t complete all the objectives in a game, your agent might not be able to secure the best opportunities for you.

Where Will You Go in the NBA Draft?

This year, your MyPLAYER can go through the Draft process and be drafted based on your performance and how well you fit each team’s positional needs. Let fate run its course to see where you get drafted, or bet on yourself and conduct a private workout for the team you want to control your destiny. Get drafted the traditional way or choose where you want to go—the decision is yours.

See where your MyCAREER journey will take you when we pull back the curtain and showcase this narrative-driven mode in mid-August.

MyNBA - FULL REVEAL WEEK OF AUGUST 18

Dynamic Banners

Celebrate your championships properly with dynamic banners in NBA 2K26. As you win titles, you’ll see banners from those championship victories raised into the rafters, where they’ll hang to commemorate your milestone achievements. Each NBA arena has a dedicated section for these banners and, as you play out your own stories, you will see years and years of history proudly displayed during games.

More Customization with Unranked MyGM

Take command of an NBA franchise as a General Manager in MyGM and import custom rosters and draft classes to fine tune your preferences in the new Unranked MyGM option. Enjoy further customization and explore endless possibilities in this role-playing sandbox mode.

This is just a glimpse of what to expect in MyNBA this year. In a few weeks, we’ll share more details about the mode—talk soon!

THE CITY - FULL REVEAL WEEK OF AUGUST 25

NBA 2K26 welcomes Gen 9 players on PC. The City is even more intimate and accessible than its predecessor, with all points of interest well within reach to get you on the court significantly faster.

The Park Gets a Makeover

Soak in all of the urban beauty in NBA 2K26’s new Park designs, which are focused on more natural and grounded scenery, like courts that you might find in the real-world, based on community feedback. Plus, new lighting improvements and a fixed time-of-day will reduce harsh shade and sunlight.

More Ways to Flex in The City

Own the spotlight in The City with all-new mode leaderboards that shine a light on not only your rank, but also the players with the most wins in multiplayer modes like The Theater and The REC. Also, the top player from each mode will have a 12-foot statue of their MyPLAYER built outside that mode’s building, and it’ll be updated daily to give recognition to that day’s star.

Before The City opens its doors, we’re going to give you the full tour at the end of August, just in time for Advanced Access, starting August 29.
