Here with a Public Test Branch weekend hotfix! Here’s what’s been addressed:

🛠️ FIXES:

  • Fixed an issue where some suspects waited too long for police officers to arrive.

  • Resolved a problem where contractor workers reset to 3 if you had contracted fewer than 3.

  • Fixed the End Day Report menu staying in the background of other menus due to sorting order issues.

  • Fixed an issue where customers would leave complaining about no toilet even after using the toilet.

  • Resolved a bug where end-of-day final rating points between -100 and 100 weren’t added correctly to the overall rating score.

  • Fixed a problem where rating points still reset to zero even in new saves.

  • Fixed a bug where customers wouldn’t use vending machines unless a lounge was present.

⚙️ CHANGES:

I’ll be focusing more on balancing things —especially transportation capacity upgrade costs, which are currently way off and have become a much more important part of the game— once the remaining graphs unlock in the next patch. That said, I’ve made a few early adjustments in the meantime, mainly because they were necessary after the recent changes to the customer behavior selection system. Things might feel a bit off during testing until the main balance update lands. Here’s what’s been updated so far:

  • Slot game round time decreased by 20%

  • Maximum rounds a customer can play decreased by 10%

  • Customers who can’t use any services will no longer go to the toilet

  • Customers who can’t use any services will no longer commit crimes

  • Casino machines are no longer lineable again, but gamblers will still wander, watch games, and play if they find an available machine (Slot Machine, Keno Machine, Video Poker Machine)

  • Chances of customers watching casino games after playing have increased by 15%

Hey everyone,

A mini patch this time fixing a few things and also more attempts at improving overall game stability, for those experiencing crashes in the game, there's some tips that you can try out at the bottom as well:

  • FIXED: Dying on repeat with **Speed** modifier due to blowing up on respawn (timer should start once you start moving)
  • FIXED: Using FOV slider while in-game causes cursor to go in the center
  • FIXED: Initial perspective popup doesn’t save
  • FIXED: Some Russian localization text
  • FIXED: Some Japanese localization text
  • FIXED: RPGs don’t drop in Toronno bossfight with the “No Weapon Drops” modifier
  • FIXED: Collision box in City level messing with shots
  • FIXED: Some trees in City level not fading out when camera is near
  • FIXED: Sniper enemy in Toronno can shoot through trees
  • FIXED: Baseball bat attacks by the player sometimes don’t hit enemies
  • Perfect dodge now gives 0.3 seconds of iframes (should stop players from dying to Elite attacks, etc.)
  • More attempts at improving project stability

For those experiencing crashes, youngman201446 on the Steam Discussion forum found a fix that helped himself and a few other users, it can be worth attempting on your end as well, big thanks for discovering this and I hope it helps other users as well:

Right-click the game in your Library and hit Properties, under Launch Options, add -force -d3d12, boot up the game and see if it improves things for you. This will essentially switch the game from using Directx11 to Directx12 so keep in mind this mostly works on newer-ish graphics cards, make sure your GPU can support DX12.

Next patch will have Challenge Tracking when you hit the pause button, I would've gotten it in for this patch but I believe I need to do more work/testing on it to make sure it's 99% working.



Other than that, thanks again for all of your patience, support, feedback and bug reports from the past week, it's been incredible.

some news:
- I have removed from Steam most DLC with no content for those who wished to support me:
Emperor Tier 4.99$
King Tier 3.99$
Liege Tier 2.99$
Knight Tier 1.99$
I have kept the Squire tier 0.99$ (it is more symbolic than anything now).
I think it was a mistake to ask people for money for a free game.
I am grateful and thank all people who bought the DLC (some even bought all the tier(!)) and the game when it wasn't free, it means a lot for me. I got a real job so I won't try to make more money with Clarent Saga Tactics. But I would be happy if you give a try to the other games of Clarent Saga (Prologue and Chronicles)!

With SRPG Studio 10th anniversary, there are more sprites! I will update the game one last time with these, and also update SRPG Studio. Maybe I will add more plugins and quality of life feature if I can implement them. I also want to rewrite and improve the original script as I think my writing wasn't really good, but maybe I'll leave it as it is. I will at least give it a try!

As I have a job, I think it's a really good time to stop making games after this last update.

Azooma Escape - GloriousChicken

Hello to our fellow introverts, gamers, and accidental guests who stayed a bit too long!

Today, we’re excited to share a more personal behind-the-scenes look into the heart of Azooma Escape, specifically, the creation of our main character, Jaser.

Like many stories born out of chaos and family pressure, Jaser wasn’t just “designed”… he was relived.

Our lead artist and co-creator, Yaser Almehdi, gave Jaser more than just a face, he gave him part of his own childhood. The name Jaser is actually a real-life nickname given to Yaser by his late grandfather, who always called him “Jaser” by mistake or maybe out of love. Either way, it stuck. So when it came time to name our socially anxious, emotionally overwhelmed protagonist… there was no better fit.

“It felt right to bring back that name. Like a little easter egg from my family to the game’s family.” – Yaser

To get the right look and feel, Yaser actually photographed himself from all angles as reference. It wasn’t just a design process, it was a full-blown method acting despite it being a 2D Game (with fewer awards and more caffeine). Originally, the character design leaned more toward a middle-aged man, but that felt too… stable. Too wise. Too willing to attend social events.

We redesigned Jaser to be younger, more relatable, and infinitely more likely to trip over a plate of Samosa while trying to sneak past Auntie with the awkward questions.

Because Azooma Escape isn’t just about stealth, it’s about surviving awkward questions, unsolicited advice, and the intensity of cultural expectations. A younger Jaser makes the comedy hit harder. It’s funny when he hides in a pantry to avoid guests. It’s even funnier when he makes eye contact with a bowl of kabsa and has to choose between freedom or seconds.

Jaser isn’t just a game character, he’s a love letter to every quiet kid in a loud room.

A digital introvert armed with only his wits, awkward charm, and deep knowledge of where the guest slippers are hidden.

He’s Yaser.
He’s you.
He’s all of us who’ve ever wanted to sneak out of a family gathering without offending the entire tribe.

City Game Studio: Your Game Dev Adventure Begins - Binogure
Hello everyone!

Here I am again, a bit earlier than expected, to make a minor change that only affects a small portion of players. Those who have a pretty powerful PC and load the game a tad too quickly. Don't worry though, not all PCs do this - you need to be on Windows with a very specific configuration.

For those who love technical details, it was a deadlock that prevented save files from loading.
To fix this issue, I delayed the save loading by one frame. Now for us mere mortals, spending one extra frame loading won't make any difference whatsoever.

That's it for the technical stuff. Otherwise, I've started working on v1.24, and I've already made competitors tougher. I'll tell you more about it in detail next Friday.
