A New & Free DLC Campaign!

Update 7 brings with it a bunch of new buildings, industries, and even trains! Yet one thing players have been asking for has been new missions! I do not think you'd believe me, and I almost do not, how many players DM'd me asking for DLC. In past updates we added a bunch of optional side missions, but we felt limited in just expanding the main campaign. We needed more: we needed a new campaign!

So please get excited for a new Railgrade Campaign: Rapid Repo Rescue!

In Rapid Repo Rescue you take on a new planet. This one's got a problem: a court ordered repossession ! You see, years ago when the colony ship first landed: they landed on the wrong planet! This planet has a different owner! An evil corporation at that! So now you need to rush to rebuild a resourceful planet to recharge the space launcher and rescue everyone before that corporation takes possession!

Did I mention the corporation has an evil scheme to trap any workers you leave behind to a life of low wages and high company-store-inflation? You better rescue everyone! And quick!

Who made it

If you've been following the Workshop map making community you've likely played his maps already: Mortiz! He's one of our community's elite map makers. He took time out of his busy university schedule to craft this brand new campaign. Of course we paid him, cash, but I want to thank him for putting in his time & care beyond the paycheck.

We also received a bunch of help from players on our Discord! A hardcore group of players helped Mortiz by play testing early versions of his maps. They spent a bunch of time testing and giving feedback. Plus, and I am quite thankful: no one leaked the surprise!

They proved skilled at both Railgrade and at keeping secrets!

What's Inside

You'll find the Rapid Repo Rescue campaign on the main menu under the "Bonus Campaign" choice. There you'll find a full menu allow you to play each map as you unlock it. Including an overview of each mission's score, and a total campaign rank.

The full campaign rank takes the sum total of your best play times, and the sum total of every map's par time, and treats the entire campaign like a combined mission time. This means you can catch up by playing faster on some maps to compensate for slower times on others.

And like all missions: you can enable modifiers to tune the difficulty to your choice.

The 11 missions should take about 9 hours to complete. We gave Mortiz access to every yet-unused asset in the game. This meant new trains, new industry, and new resources.

My personal favourite is the new Natural Gas & Hydrogen set of energy production chains. Complete with a new Gas Powerplant as you see below, plus Offshore Gas Wells! If you scroll to the top of this page you can even spy the on-shore Gas Well Industry.

Signoff

When we started working on Railgrade I wanted to keep supporting it far beyond release. In prior jobs I felt we had stop working on games too soon. I am thankful for Whiskerwood we've found a publisher in Hooded Horse which values long term support for games and writes their contracts to make that happen.

That is why we made this bonus campaign and are releasing it for free. I think Railgrade is special, and I am thankful to everyone who supported us over the years when our rent depended on it. I hope this campaign can give new and old players more of the unique fun Railgrade can give :)

We've released 2 hot patches these past 3 days. The first fixed an ordering issue in the DLC campaign. The second patch adds the new industry and trains to the research tree in sandbox. You can also now use the new industry chains to power research itself. :)

Project Warlock II - RV Novar

Hey Warlocks!

This patch focuses heavily on addressing soft-lock issues and geometry problems that have been reported by the players, alongside important fixes for achievement tracking and performance and visibility improvements.

Levels & Geometry

We've tackled numerous soft-lock situations across all chapters that were preventing players from progressing as intended.

  • Chapter 1:

    • Fixed an issue where players could jump out of bounds and soft-lock the game after finding the first secret

    • Removed two statues in E1M8 that allowed players to soft-lock the game by jumping into the red key area

  • Chapter 2:

    • Fixed a soft-lock location in E2M2

    • Fixed a soft-lock hole in E2M4

    • Fixed clipping decorations in Urd's Hub

    • Fixed an improperly placed invisible wall in E2M5

    • Improved teleport pits in E2M7

  • Chapter 3:

    • Fixed a soft-lock pit in E3M10

General

We've made some general tweaks to improve visibility and balance.

  • Decreased Poison Cloud opacity to improve player visibility during combat

  • Removed the Sentinel's green trail that incorrectly dealt damage to the player

  • Removed the Eldritch's green trail that incorrectly dealt damage to the player

  • Fixed an issue where the Buckshot Revolver would consume ammo improperly

Achievements

Several achievement tracking issues have been resolved.

  • Fixed the "Heavy Duty" Achievement

  • Fixed an issue where the "This is Lit" achievement would trigger even if the player did not damage any monster

  • Fixed stat tracking for "Red Gunner kills" achievements

  • Fixed stat tracking for "Red Hunter kills" achievements

  • Fixed stat tracking for "Gunslinger kills" achievements

  • Fixed stat tracking for "Demoness kills" achievements

Performance
  • Fixed a performance issue related to Robosatan

1. Custom Officer Attribute and Skill Customization:
You can now freely edit the attributes, Unique Skill, and Strategist Skill of your custom officers. The random stat roll option is still available for those who enjoy surprises!



2. Ma Chao (Hypothetical Officer) Joins Sandbox Mode:
Hypothetical officers can now be used as protagonists in Sandbox Mode and can be recruited in Story Mode as well.



3. Custom Keybindings Available:
Go to Game Menu → [Game Settings] → [Control Settings] to change keybindings. If a key is already in use, the system will notify you.

4. Increased Medicinal Supply Production in Cities.

5. Common Officers May Now Learn Unique & Strategist Skills:
You might encounter them with such skills at the Recruit Agency or Bandit Camps.

[Bug Fixes]
1. Adjusted the range of Pang De and the Artificer’s Unique Skills.
2. Fixed an issue where some custom officers required awakening to use Unique Skills.
3. Revised the Contribution and Guest Officer Rank requirement for Ma Chao.
4. Fixed a bug where soldiers would freeze during battles.
5. Fixed an error that occurred when using older custom officers.
6. Fixed the issue where the stat cap for custom officers was set too low.

Hey Fighters! I've just pushed a new update, introducing more settings options as you suggested, allowing adjustments for camera sensitivity, combat music volume, and more. The motorcycle mobs have taken another whack, as an effort to reduce the frustration their non-stop attacks bring.

Since launch, I've been carefully reading all of your discussions about the game, the love, criticisms, and suggestions. These discussions help me brainstorm how to address the various issues. However, it's crucial to avoid rushing things; a step-by-step approach is necessary to bring out the true potential of Spirit X Strike. Thank you for being so patient.

[New Additions]
1.New windowed/fullscreen toggle, invert camera Y-axis, camera sensitivity, and music volume adjustment in the settings.

[Adjustments]
1.Motorcycle enemies now only deal damage during their attack animations.
2.Modified the mechanism for knocking motorcycle enemies off their vehicles: in-air attacks and successful dodge counters can now directly dismount them.
3.Reduced motorcycle enemy movement speed.
4.Lowered the price of all heal items and skills.
5.Corrected the amount of Spirit gained from hitting enemies with Active Spirit Dash; Spirit consumption for Active Spirit Dash has been increased.
