No More Future - Sedge

Hello everyone! Sorry for the long wait, I know it's been a while since I even touched Steam as a developer. >_>

After over half a year of working on it, we've finally finished working on Build 19 of No More Future! It'll be available on Steam come next Friday, if all goes well.

The new build includes a new Main Story Chapter, reworks to the early section of Chapter 6 (and a few tweaks to Chapter 11), and tons of new content such as new character art assets, new music, and a new background, which I attached to this Devlog to give you an idea of where we might be headed! This is definitely the biggest update we released so far: the script for Chapter 14 is the longest in our files by far, and that's not even counting all the extra work we did on the other chapters. I can only hope all this waiting will be worth it, and that you'll enjoy the new update once it's out to the public.

This is also the first build made with the help of Devilizer, whose help has been invaluable with streamlining the writing, general proofreading, and even contributing to write certain sections that I would've struggled with on my own. Do be sure to check out his work on other titles on... other sites, if you haven't already (and are of age)!

I apologize if the prolonged silence made some of you believe the project was dead or on hiatus: we never really stopped working on this new update, although we did have to take breaks every so often to worry about other matters in our lives, whether it be Uni exams for me, or contributing to other VNs for some of my colleagues. In the end, I thought it'd be in poor taste to release updates along the way just to remind people we're still hard at work on the project, and only gave sporadic updates on our progress on our Discord, which has by now become our primary means of interacting with the community. If you wish to be updated more often on the status of this VN, do consider joining it if you haven't already! Either way, we have no intention of taking hiatuses from the project, or canning it altogether. Should the situation ever change for the worst, we'll be sure to warn everyone, including our audience here on Steam and on other sites.

The day has arrived! Tier 5 Armor, Weapons, Books and Rings can be crafted inside the Temple of Lost Souls! This time round you'll be able to craft your weapons with the armor crafter and don't forget to get your One-Handed weapons as well.

Left Hook Rework and Rank 4
Strength needed a little bit of love in the skill department. Yes, I see you're all still using Vampiric Blade... Sooooo a rework to Left Hooks energy cost, damage values and cast time was needed. This skill will be doing more damage than Vampiric Blade without the healing aspect. Making it a better skill for Boss DPS and high HP mob grinding.

Changes:
  • In the shop, equipment is now split into weapons, armor, and accessories.

  • Weapons has tabs for primary and sidearm.

  • Armor has tabs for helmet, torso, gloves, and boots.

  • Accessories has tabs for back, amulets, and rings.

  • Path shop pane now has tabs for mana (which means all paths listed have a branch for that mana type).

  • Consumable shop pane now has tabs for restores, buffs, and attacks.

  • Stats shop pane now has tabs for skills, combat, and core.

  • Added colors to items, which should help distinguish them in the shop.

  • Modal panes will now resize width based on font size setting (should take care of horizontal text overruns). Also tweaked vertical a bit.

This update shouldn't break saves, though to pick up the color changes you'll need to start a new game.

Starground - bbgamesbusiness

This small hotfix for Starground addresses a few issues with research, and the movespeed command not working. This also introduces a change to how worlds are loaded and generated, allowing for more flexibility with modding.

  • Changed world loading to loop through each region separately (good for modding)

  • Fixed an issue where players can enter the ocean on foot by building a specific terrain pattern and digging through
