Hello, souls of the Underworld! The long-lasting silence is over, and the new year is here with new content. Because of our responsibilities (school, work, etc.), the construction of the Underworld was delayed.
But don’t worry, there are still many things to see and witness!
Due to the extended silence and anticipation, we've decided to share brief previews of upcoming stages that will be featured in the full release of the game. \Please note that most of these stages are still in the prototype phase and are far from the final version\, so take them with a grain of salt and have fun exploring!
As you enjoy your time underworld you will encounter a BRAND NEW NPC! It flies chaotically, dislikes the light and stalks you from the ceiling. Will you guess what it is?
As of now, you can encounter them in the caves and dark halls of Hades' palace.
#brief book text adapting gif - switching light
The journal text is now written in magical ink, that glows in the dark and stays dark if you light it up and yes, you can now use your magical light while reading. so you can sort of switch between light and dark theme.

Auto Alignment was only used when you first picked an object, if you wanted to place vase you usually needed to rotate it, so it didn’t fell off. Now you can do so with simple press of a button!
#dialogue overhaul
Character names and colors, also you can set it to auto skip after voice line passed.
#character talking animations
Ps1 styled animations, characters also look at you.
You will also encounter a strange shadowy hand wielding a familiar sign... I wonder if Hades knows about these illegal advertisers inside his property?

Our main goal is to finish the game until the end of the year.

We will do our best to continue posting updates on a monthly basis.
We reworked the game writing, that you may notice in the next update, as well as much better voice overs, for which we have hired a very talented voice actors.
Following that, we will prepare the game for early access to beta test once we feel it's ready.

From Demo to Full Release
Monitored usage, gameplay, and necessity of features during the demo period to determine what to include or discard.
UI/UX and Gameplay Tweaks
Fixed interface elements that were misleading or obscured.
Adjusted gameplay values for better balance and overall fun.
→ Removed the “City Weather” feature and all demo-specific backgrounds.
→ Added mini-games like Plant Cultivation and Poker for earning P-points.
→ Introduced a Friend Character feature.
→ Added several new background scenes.
→ Updated the trailer content.
Demo Data Notice
Demo data cannot be uploaded to the cloud and therefore will not carry over to the full release.
The full version is scheduled to launch mid-month. The beta/demo version will be closed at that time.

Massive lighting overhaul: We’ve revamped the overall atmosphere and lighting to better reflect the tone of the world, more tension, more depth, and more mood.
Subtle weather tweaks and fog layers now add to the visual tone of each area.
Enemy behavior has been improved to feel more responsive and challenging.
New combat animations added for smoother and more brutal action.
Better hit feedback and movement flow during fights.
Some visual effects updated for better clarity and impact.
Sound effects have been tuned to better match the world and enhance combat tension.
New ambient and combat-related animations added for more immersion.
Camera movement has been smoothed out to reduce distortion and improve gameplay flow.
VFS camera system now feels more natural, especially during fast-paced sequences.
Various glitches and minor bugs squashed.
Overall game balancing improved for a more consistent and fair experience.
Slight tweaks to the feel of movement and interaction for better overall gameplay flow.

Hey everyone, this is just a quick update and outlining of what is happening and what is next for Surroundead.
Tomorrow I will be away for 10 days. With that, do not expect any updates to come out and at most you may see me active on discord or reddit primarily.
After this leave, the next major part to happen is the rework to bunkers. Giving them all unique layouts, instead of the same copy pasted layout there currently is. Also coming is a brand new POI near to the airfield. A large and non working nuclear power plant, left to rot by both the zombies and bandits who use to call it home. Also, look forward to the "Deadzone" finally getting added to the game. This large area will offer up new challenges for the player and I look forward to talking more about this and just what to expect.
Now, once this is finished we move onto the next phase. . . Quests! From adding the settlement building system to just talking to survivors, accepting bounties, quests (obviously) and more. This will be something that adds a whole other level to Surroundead and a lot more content for yourselves. Look forward to more info the closer we get.
