DOWNHILL - sisterhoodgames
It's time! The demo is finally released, so grab a beverage, get comfy in your gaming chair and embark on a quest to get into Fade's head (well, eye) and save her from the Gloom! And after you finish it, please consider supporting our Kickstarter campaign that has also just launched!

A couple of things you need to know about the demo:
  • The demo is approximately 20-30 minutes long; it has 3 endings and 3 corresponding achievements.
  • It is Windows only, but people have pretty successfully run it on Linux and Steam Deck before.
And also, some info about the Kickstarter:
  • The Early Bird tier, which will get you a Steam copy of DOWNHILL for only £8, will be available for the first 72 hours of the campaign.
  • There are several exclusive digital rewards, but also a lot of ways to add your own content into the game, ranging from having your pet immortalized in DOWNHILL to co-designing an entire boss with all their attacks!
  • The campaign will be live for 30 days.
  • Your support during the first couple of days will have a massive influence on the overall success of the campaign! That's just how the algo works.
  • During the campaign, we will be doing lore deep dives, Q&As and more fun stuff that we'll reveal later!!
Join our Discord community to leave feedback (if you'd like to!) and become a part of this magical journey called indie game development. We have a pretty neat fandom that will welcome you with open arms!

Have fun playing the demo!

- love, Sisterhood

This update is a bit smaller than I would've liked story-wise, but hopefully the improvements to the overall experience make up for it.
REVAMPED SIMULATOR: "THE GAUNTLET"
The original VR simulator location was a bit of an afterthought, since I realized that there were no places to grind thanks to a lack of random encounters. I'm still hesitant to add random encounters at this point in time (it would require a lot of new enemy designs to make it not feel repetitive), but this should be a good compromise to get more mileage out of the turn-based RPG mechanics.
THE GAUNTLET

Instead of rematching specific fights, entering The Gauntlet now puts you in a boss rush against familiar faces you've encountered during the story. These fights are tougher than their story versions, so be prepared.

In order to help the player confront these intimidating opponents, allow me to introduce:
NEW NPC

^Meet Cassola, a new shopkeeper that can be encountered in the revamped VR simulator. She's a snarky AI assistant that will sell you Crowd Favors.

The Crowd Favor system was introduced with Iron First Chapter 2, but it was heavily underutilized at the time, only being used by certain boss fights as a kind of modifier.

In the new update, you will be able to purchase Crowd Favors as a type of equipment, opening up new build possibilities. Additionally, while fighting in the Gauntlet's boss rush you will find Cassola in-between boss fights, and you can rent Crowd Favors to spice up your run.

You can also choose to rob her, but you might find it's more than you bargained for...

Thank you for playing, I hope you continue to enjoy CHI Project!

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms - Idle Champions

It's the Summer Solstice in Faerûn, which means it is time for Dragondown celebrations!

While the City of Waterdeep celebrates Dragondown by burning dragon effigies to symbolize the city's victories over invading dragons, some smaller celebrations focus on ceremonial bonfires and charms, with mock-spells and chanted prayers performed as the sun sets.

But something has gone wrong in Luskan this year, where locals have drawn the ire of a Bronze Dragon and its kin...
The first Dragondown was the 13th limited-time event in Idle Champions, launching on June 25th, 2018. This year marks our eighth Dragondown event, which introduces Hank the Ranger, the leader and final member of the Saturday Morning Squad affiliation, with today's launch. Our second Featured Champion, Krond, will be receiving a significant update, with a new Champion Update blog coming on Friday, June 6, before his launch next Wednesday, June 11.

For details on Dragondown Year 8, read on!

Featured Champions
Hank

Hank is the steadfast and courageous leader of the group of friends that has been swept away into the perilous realm of Dungeons & Dragons. As the Ranger, he wields his signature Energy Bow to fend off danger and light the way forward. Though the weight of leadership tests him at every turn, Hank’s tactical insight and unwavering resolve keep the party moving forward in their quest to find a way back home.

Learn more about Hank in his Champion Spotlight.

Krond

Krond was born of a union between an academic human wizard and a mighty orc fighter who led a nomadic orc community. Raised as a fearsome warrior and arcane scholar, he studied these arts with equal passion. Krond's parents tragically lost their lives protecting their family and friends during an enemy raid. This moment changed Krond, and he swore revenge upon the world. Taking up an ancestral warhammer called Unity, Krond set out to make things right, one way or another.

Steam Local Currency Update

Yesterday, we rolled out an update to Steam players which allows our in-game shop to show their local currencies instead of USD. Steam will now charge players in local currencies instead of a converted USD price, using Steam's standard conversion rates. With this update, local currencies are now displayed in Idle Champions across all platforms except Android, which is our next priority.

Supermarket Together - SelDEV
Hello! Small patch mainly featuring additional ways of displaying URLs in the shape of advertising billboards. These may be considered in the future to perhaps boost a particular product’s sale by giving it extra exposure along with more variants like interior market panels.

Animals event is extended and will finish day 11th with next patch.

Changelog:
- Added 7 new picture frames in the shape of advertising billboards, for now they can display city’s custom pictures but URLs can be set as with normal picture frames. Some are double sided so, similar to ceiling signs, make sure the front side is not aiming at a wall to avoid camera problems when modifying them.

- Added 13 new hats to the existent collection.

- Fixed an issue in which employees would drop a box instead of a cardboard bale when carrying the latter.

- Cardboard baler animation now shows the correct inserted box color.

- Fixed an issue in which you could place an order box in an already occupied spot in the Order Pickup Point.

- Event cage now blocks NPCs correctly.

- Slightly boosted the gains for recycling cardboard bales.

- Fixed an issue in which the camel’s event would sometimes appear lying on floor.

- Ceiling sign now has an arrow indicating which side is front while placing it.

- Store creation menu now shows additional data like a world map or a store layout display for internal testing of possible future features.

QANGA - Juliaan
The past few weeks have been intense on the development front for our team, and we wanted to share some of the progress we’ve made with you.

As many of you already know, QANGA features a full-scale reproduction of the solar system, made possible in large part thanks to our internally developed plugin, Worldscape.

Recently, the team, especially CyberAlien, began a major overhaul of QANGA’s solar system structure, with one clear goal in mind: to make space more dense, more meaningful, and better suited for exploration and gameplay.

A denser, richer space

Thanks to this deep rework, space between planets will no longer be just empty stretches to cross. QANGA’s solar system is gradually being filled with new spatial objects, distributed in a logical and realistic way:
  • Space stations placed on specific orbits, potentially serving as relays, trading hubs, or refueling points.
  • Moons orbiting certain planets, each following its own trajectory.
  • Asteroid belts, particularly between Mars and Jupiter, bringing more opportunities for exploration, danger, and resource gathering.

Lagrange points

To make all this work in a consistent way, CyberAlien also implemented a full system of Lagrange points. These well-known points in orbital mechanics represent areas of gravitational balance between two massive bodies, like a planet and its star or a planet and its moon.

In practical terms, these points are perfect for placing:
  • Space stations, for refueling or fast travel
  • Secondary orbits
  • Groups of asteroids, like the famous Trojan asteroids that share Jupiter’s orbit in our real solar system
You’ll find diagrams below, especially the one showing points L1 to L5 in a Sun/Planet system, to help visualize the placement logic we’re using.

What is a Lagrange point?

A Lagrange point is a specific position in space where the gravitational pull of two massive bodies, like a star and a planet, balances with the centrifugal force experienced by a third object. In simple terms, these are locations where an object can remain stable or semi-stable without needing constant adjustments to its trajectory.

There are five such points for every pair of celestial bodies:
  • L1, L2, and L3 lie along the line connecting the two bodies. They are useful but unstable.
  • L4 and L5 form an equilateral triangle with the two bodies. These are the most stable points and are often naturally occupied by asteroids, like the Trojans near Jupiter.

This principle, applied in QANGA, allows us to place stations, moons, asteroid belts, and other space objects in a way that is both realistic and functional. It also opens up additional points of interest for players in the long run.

A glimpse behind the scenes

Here are a few development screenshots from our internal tools, showing how the solar system structure is evolving. You will spot the addition of Lagrange points, orbital paths, and the gradual densification of interplanetary space.

To infinity... and beyond?

This solar system overhaul marks an important step toward a more vibrant and coherent universe. We are not just trying to fill space; we want it to have meaning, to support gameplay, exploration, and immersion.

Lagrange points and new orbital paths provide a solid technical foundation, but that does not mean each one will automatically host a station, a moon, or a point of interest. These are early steps, giving us the structure we need to imagine and design what comes next.

It’s still a work in progress, of course, but the foundations are in place. And we wanted to share a glimpse of what we’re building behind the scenes, because it’s clearly going to change the way we travel through... and experience... this universe.

More is coming soon.
