Hey everyone,
We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge something important.
This project was our very first attempt at making a COMPLETE game, a small learning project developed to a full game. We released it for free, knowing it wasn’t perfect, but hoping to start our journey and learn along the way.
Since then, we’ve grown a lot as developers, both in terms of skills and vision. While this game has its share of flaws (and we fully own that), it also helped us build the foundation for something better.
We're keeping this page up as a reminder of where we started, a snapshot of our first steps, and a symbol of how far we’ve come.

With the main story and main game relatively stable now, after the 0xx series of updates, I'm moving on to core gameplay improvements and combat enhancements in the 1xx series. Originally the NPC update, I've decided to push that back 1 milestone to work on more important gameplay elements to ensure the game is fun to play and provides a smooth experience to the player. With gamepad support coming as well, this series of updates should pretty drastically change how things play and get us closer to the games final vision.

  • Dolphin Dash is now set to Left-Shift and functions as both a dash and a sprint, when held down
  • Relevant tutorial about Dolphin Dash updated.
  • Deleted boss projectiles when entering a dialogue to prevent damage while speaking.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed the player to get hit by 1 attack multiple times a frame, dealing far too much damage.
  • Hair physics for in-game model have been deactivated for now due to crashes
  • Obsidian Skin skill has been changed to Magma Aura, and provides a significant damage boost, and damages any nearby enemies.
  • Stamina now gradually increases smoothly
  • All crafting recipes are now unlocked by default to encourage crafting and testing builds earlier.
  • Ice Shield now has a higher initial cost, but allows for you to slowly move, instead of being completely immobile.
  • The Siren Seal's puzzle now has a guide available
  • Hazard damage for the final area's have been lowered
  • Debug menus can now be used in Crystal Palace by locking and unlocking cursor
  • The whirlpool effect for the Arpas boss fight is less intense for visual clarity
  • A work in progress combat menu has been added, will be improved in further beta-build updates
  • Stage 1 of the new world map gameplay has been added that replaces the floating cursor.
  • Siren Song ability can now be charged in combat for a big HP regeneration effect
  • Purify now has the combat ability of cutting Stun costs in half, making it easier to Stun-Break enemies
  • A bug that would delete the camera in Mangled Cave level has been fixed
  • Siren Seals no longer need to be completed perfectly, and allow for a few errors

Many more combat and core gameplay improvements are coming.

Hey everyone!
We just pushed a small update to Battlement to address a few issues and make some minor improvements. We also added a new feature we would like to call: "The BloodyGore Update"

🩸 Update Features:
  • Dynamic blood spread in arenas
  • Droppable meat chunks
  • Special events that trigger with accumulating blood

Development:

- added distortion shader;
- added refraction through transparent objects on the scene (glass, crystals, hot air) (it's just very beautiful);
- added character scaling when exiting/entering scenes (when there is a transition into the depth of the scene);
- added character toning when scaling (aerial perspective simulation);
- after heated discussions, the idea of ​​adding character scaling was canceled, replacing it with hand-drawn animations (takes a little more time, but the result is more beautiful);
- added animations for transitions between locations for Chapter One (perfect!);
- fixed bugs in the diary and made it more diary-like;
- fixed a big problem with positioning and clipping of dialogue text;
- fixed save/load (still a work in progress, but the system has become much more stable);
- improved character pixel alignment;
- added improved location exit (removed character stopping when changing location);
- partially renewed the newspaper (the news is more fresh) and added Leah reading the newspaper animation;
- changed some of the puzzles, so that they are more interesting now.

Schrodinger's Cat Burglar - Abandoned Sheep
Howdy Howdy howdy

You'll no doubt be pleased to hear that Schrodinger's Cat Burglar works great on the Steam Deck.

If you have trouble running the game, setting Compatibility to Proton 9.0 should do the trick.

Currently the control information still shows keyboard bindings if no keyboard is connected. That's on the list of things to improve!

If the framerate is a little low I recommend making sure Fur Quality is set to Off, and reducing Graphics quality to Medium or so.
