Hi friends. We have a big new content update for you and an announcement!

Here's what's in the update:

  • A New Boss Encounter: The Mad Maestro (and his frog quartet)! Defeating the High Priestess of Creative once will unlock this as an alternate boss encounter for the second floor.
  • Nightmare Challenge Mod. You wanted a tougher challenge beyond Corporate Hell? We heard you. This mode is so dang tough that even we can't complete runs most of the time. Enabling it (without other mods) and beating the game will unlock special trophies for each character in the Milestones section. Good luck! You'll need it...
  • New Skills. Four brand new skills have been added: Chomp, Meat Shield, Mind Palace, and Energy Swap! These were designed to pave the way for new build strategies (e.g. Max Health, Rethink/Cycle).
  • New Random Event. Look for a new zombie-like horde event on the first floor. Will you crawl under a smelly dumpster or run for it? Additionally, the "community award" event now features an option to pawn the trophy.
  • Other Changes:
    • Charge and Paint skills now display expected total damage in parenthesis. These skills now calculate damage normally and only apply Power once (effectively a nerf to Fia, but she's still plenty strong).
    • Brainstorm skill has been reworked (including an updated visual effect).
    • New Talent: Meathead.
    • Capitalist talent has been reworked.
    • Blockbuster skill changed to deal 1x/2x damage (down from 2x/3x).
    • Slightly increased damage for some CEO and Taskmaster attacks.
    • Well Prepared talent changed to give 3 Rethink (down from 4).
    • Chairshot skill changed to deal 10/15 damage (up from 9/14).
    • Catharsis talent changed to restore 2 Sanity (down from 3 Sanity).
    • Minion Manager talent can now level up to 6. It takes quite a few more consumables to reach this final level, but it should feel better scaling into late game.
    • Added a pulsating effect to the Rethink glyph and tooltip. This disappears after a player has used Rethink a few times.
    • Various bug fixes.
Several late additions (including another event and several talents) just missed the cut, so there's more to come. Expect hotfixes and smaller updates in the coming weeks.

Now for that announcement: we'll be featured by Sodapoppin (on Monday June 2nd) and Kripp (Tuesday June 3rd) next week! We can't wait to watch them try the game and would love to watch it with you. We'll be sure to update everyone in our Discord channel when they go live.

Additionally, Crush will be on a big 40% off sale next week for the Turn Based Thursday Fest on Steam. That will kick off Monday morning. We'd love your support and help with getting our game noticed.

Greetings adventurers!
It's time for another massive RFVR 'minor' update
This update brings a whole lot of new content - enemies, quests, and possibly most important of all, a seated mode

Here's a brief rundown of many of the changes:

Super Enemies
-We've added 'Super Bosses' and 'Super Mobs' Be prepared for an increased difficulty in every area, Super Bosses are indicated by their bright pink colored level and healthbar, while super mobs are identifiable by their bright red level and health bar.
-Super Bosses are guaranteed to drop one 'Super Item' which is a special armor, weapon, spell, bow, firearm, or throwing weapon bag that has increased and potentially godly stats.
-Super Bosses spawn with one of nine special stat bonuses which are chosen at random and impart their special stats onto their mob members. Super Bosses receive an increase to all base statistics in addition to their special stat bonus.
  • -Extra Strong: Greatly increased HP and increased damage
  • -Extra Fast: Greatly increased movement Speed and attack speed
  • -Extra Resistant: Greatly increases all resistances
  • -Fire Enhanced: Deals fire damage to all players within the radius every 5 seconds
  • -Ice Enhanced: Slows movement speed of all players within the radius for 5 seconds every 5 seconds
  • -Poison Enhanced: Deals poison damage to all players within the radius every 5 seconds
  • -Shock Enhanced: Deals shock damage to all players within the radius every 5 seconds
  • -Holy Enhanced: Heals self and all allies within the radius every 5 seconds
  • -Dark Enhanced: Explodes a nearby dead body and deals dark damage to all players within the radius every 5 seconds
Armor Stat Updates
-we've done an update to armor stats that makes better equipment a bit more common and rare/legendary armors now have even more impressive stats.
Lighting adjustments
-for improved daytime shadows and darker nights, to compensate for the slightly lower visibility at night we've added a new light to all torches that is enabled when held or placed in the body storage.
Melee Slashing Attack homing update
-The Melee 'Slashing attack' is now a homing projectile that seeks out enemies
Wrapping up Mystveil quests with an epic reward
-The Mystveil temple has been packed with new ideas and unique quest rewards, for those who make it this far we've prepared a very special reward
Press Trigger to use Salvage Potions
-new way to activate the salvage potions
Legendary Smithing Hammers
-elemental smithing hammers now give higher smithing bonus.
New enemies
-A new type of enemy that has a second 'super' phase that engages at below 50% hp
and FINALLY, Seated Mode!
-enable seated mode either in the game settings menu or use hot key F7
