So...what's new?
⭐New sprites have been implemented! This includes the gallery selector assets aswell!
⭐Patch notes now available! Every time you download a new update, a pop up with the new changes will appear. After that, you can access the patch notes via the Main Menu anytime!
⭐Kickstarter credits now available via the 'Credits' menu!
⭐Credits have been updated!
⭐Take a listen to our Main Theme, made by the incredibly kind and talented composer, Tomás Palazzi, as well as another one of our original tracks during the first encounter with Lázaro / The seer!
⭐Timed choices now use their own choice UI, with little hourglasses to reflect the choice is timed even if you turn the option off!
⭐ Help screen now available (as it should've been from the start lol)
⭐Some corrections / edits to certain parts of the script have been made in preparation of our big update
⭐A new (minor) choice has been added!
⭐Some more boring touch-ups!

General bug-fixes and added features:

  • Added music volume setting
  • Added reset button for quickly resetting the level (thanks TGO)
  • Changed back button in level to be an exit icon instead (mainly to make it smaller).
  • Reduced camera rotation sensitivity somewhat.
  • Intro sequences in levels can now be sped up by pressing ESC.
  • Fixed issue with collider not being big enough on Hot Hot Hot.
  • Fixed bug with CrowdControl overlay displaying a red bar with timed effects.
  • Fixed issue with bees being able to spawn inside colliders in edge cases.

Retro Endurance 8bit - zsKnight
A New Update has been Released!

This one is based on the most popular request out there for this game. Many of you asked for full length arcade games. So for this update, I've converted all the existing arcades into much longer full multi-stage challenging arcade experiences and I hope this build delivers. All arcades are also finite in length and have an ending. They each have custom music jingles for their intro, stage complete, and game over states. Some of them even have short minimal storylines. Moving forward, all new arcades will be built as full experiences.

Not just that, but I've also added an 'Arcade Only' save slot. So if you want to play just the arcades and not bother with the shuffler game modes, you are now free to do so.

Here's What's New:

  • All existing arcades have been converted to full experiences. Currently, the longer games have 3-4 stages and the shorter games have 8-10. They are all made to be quite challenging!
  • New arcade only save slot! Access this in the save slot screen if you just want to play the arcades and not bother with the shuffler mode. In this mode, you unlock new arcades by accumulating score by playing them just like the main story mode. It doesn't take long to unlock them all. Note that playing shuffler mode can also unlock arcades by collecting coins like before.

New Mechanics in Existing Games (both arcade and shuffle mode):
  • To the Sky - Two new stage variations: Block and winter theme. New enemies: Walking spark, floating spark, and lightning cloud. Added new breakable block mechanic.
  • Ping Ball - Two new stage variations with different block patterns. Added new 5 way shooter that auto targets 5 blocks at the bottom most rows. Added new laser which slices through blocks in a vertical line.
  • Garbage Truck Hero - Re-worked pinball style powerup. It now also destroys every building that you run into, making it feel way more fun and engaging.
  • Jump Boy (Platformer) - Added new slippery winter themed level. Added new spiky enemy that you can't step on.
  • Puzzle Match - Added two new stage variations with two new powerup mechanics. One has a star block that you can switch at any time to get rid of it and neighboring blocks. The other is a bomb block, which starts sparking when it reaches beyond a screen threshold. Once it sparks, your next match causes it to explode, taking out its neighboring blocks.
  • Pipe Land - Reworked the game into different rooms. Lead the water into the target pipe to open the door to the next room. Placing a pipe over an older pipe will now discard the older pipe block, making it easier to cycle through the pipes.
  • The Dungeon - Added a new dungeon with its own visual theme and enemy variation. Added a new bouncing around enemy and two new bosses.
  • Final Punch - Added two new stage variations - sewer and the future stages. Added new big rat enemy, small rats that run and trip you, and a helicopter that throws multiple bombs at you that explode over time. Added a robot boss in the arcade mode at the end. For the player, a new mini life bar for those small hits that the player incurs.
  • RPG - Enemies now can aggro you if you go close and try to move away in the map. The closer you are, the higher the chances. When an enemy aggros you, it performs the first strike. Added two new bosses. Arcade mode RPG has a store to purchase upgrades and an inn to recover your health.
  • Ski - Added new enemies: Sasquatch and penguin. The Sasquatch will start chasing you when you get close so you better move fast! The penguin just bounces back and forth, but can prove a challenge to avoid.
  • Boom! - Added two new enemies: The shooting box and the bomb thrower. Watch out for the bomb thrower as it's probably smarter than you think. Added a boss at the end of the arcade.
  • Space Alert - Added two new enemies: Speed ship and vortex enemies. Two new stage variations. Added a boss to the last stage of the arcade.
  • Wall Wrecker - Added two new powerups, one is the 'BOM' block. Hit this block, then the next block you hit will clear the screen of all the blocks of the same color. The other powerup is a directional bomb. Hit this and blocks of the same row or column will start exploding. Any enemies caught in the explosion also die. Two new enemies as well. A fireball that bounces around and a ghost enemy that slowly chases you.

And lastly:

  • - New improved main menu music
  • - Improved remixed music for Ping Ball
  • - Other bug fixes & improvements

So for the next build, I'm aiming to add 5 more games to the shuffler mode and 5 more full arcade games. Then I'll start pushing one thing that I've been neglecting for a while - marketing! It's something that I wanted to make sure that this game is as good as possible before proceeding with.

Game Changes

- Added a short intro countdown (3, 2, 1… Go!) before every run starts.

Note: The intro countdown is slightly longer when starting from the main menu to help ease you into the game.

Bug Fixes

- Players bounced faster when using the arrow keys — fixed to ensure consistent behavior across all input methods.

- The ball could still receive input during the Game Over screen — now corrected.

- Unlocking all skins in a category didn’t mark it as complete until switching screens — now updates immediately.

- Major audio bug fixed — audio should now play correctly without suddenly going mute.

- Highscore didn’t save immediately after losing, only after retrying — now it saves properly after every game over.

- The "Cancel" button in Customize acted like the "Save" button — fixed to behave correctly.
