I'm continuing to polish the game and fix any bugs that show up. Here’s what’s been improved in the latest patch:
- 🛠️ Fixed the grassmower noise. - ✅ Now, if a girl is outside her room, talking to her will immediately complete the “Talk to the Girl” task. - 🔐 Room locks no longer reappear after loading a saved game. - ✋ The big hand in the office room has been slightly reduced in size to feel less intrusive. - 💬 After loading a save, the “first meeting” conversation with each girl will no longer repeat. - 🚪 Girls will stay in their cells more often now, making it easier to find and talk to them. - 🖥️ A bug where the game window would change resolution and freeze has hopefully been fixed. If this still happens on your screen, please let me know!

During this event, Steam will highlight upcoming games, offering the selected titles and their demos to the press and players. This festival will be an opportunity for Exot to be presented to a wider audience before its official release 😁 We will provide you with details in the coming weeks on how to participate and how to propel our beloved Maurice into the spotlight !
As we announced earlier this month, the Playtest is coming to an end soon : we will be closing access to it on Thursday, May 29th at 07:00 PM (UTC + 2). At the same time, the game demo will be made available to the public on the Exot store page. If you want to purchase the game upon release and not lose your progress and saved games from the Playtest, you don't need to do anything special : just don't uninstall the Playtest before installing the full game 🙂

Here it is the 1.0 release of Byte of the Dead! I've opened up 2 forums, one for reporting bugs and one for new feature requests. I have a few ideas on what to add to the game and over the coming months. I hope to add lots more content. Thank you so much for trying the game and leaving feedback. The journey begins now.

Squashed a crash bug triggered by deleting a custom-made character.
Resolved an issue with the "Overall Review Score" objectives.
Temperature now impacts staff as originally intended!
🧠 Gameplay Enhancements
Queue timers added for guests waiting in Reception, Restaurant, and Bar areas, helping you manage flow and service.
