Introduced a grid-based inventory system that supports multiplayer. Items can be looted, moved, and stored across sessions. Inventory replicates correctly across clients, laying the foundation for persistent gear and loot sharing.
🔢 Hotbar System
Added a hotbar for quick-access items (weapons, tools, etc.). Bound to the player and separate from TecPod storage. Intended for on-the-fly usage during missions.
🚀 TecPod Storage Integration
Every TecPod now has a personal storage compartment. You can transfer loot between your hotbar and the pod before or after missions. This system will evolve into a persistent stash mechanic in future updates.
Inventory death is coming. For now, consider this a dry run.
The server will be shut down for maintenance on May 12, 2025 at 17:30 PT, with an estimated maintenance time of one hour. During the maintenance period, the game cannot be logged in or played. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to adventurers.
I’ve been working to make randomized worlds possible so that each play through is fun and different. After a lot of trial and error, I finally have runtime-randomized zones up and running in the game! I’ve also added map fog so you got to explore to discover what’s on the map. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Hey everyone, welcome back to FEROCIOUS, with the continuation of last week's devlog on weapons. Today we talk about weapon modifications and upgrades.
Weapon Modifications & Upgrades
Weapons can be customized in various ways to make them fit your playstyle. Here are some of the options:
Optics: Red dots, scopes, and holographic sights to increase precision.
Lasers & Flashlights: Useful for low-light situations and improving accuracy.
Folding Stocks: Better control and stability, especially for rifles.
Firemode Selectors: Some weapons allow for firemode switches, giving you more flexibility during combat.
(Planned) Muzzle Brakes: Reduce recoil, so you can keep your shots more accurate.
The game will not have silencers, being stealth not a priority here. Combat will be noisy, messy, and loud, which is the reason you are here hahaha!
Weapon Degradation & Maintenance
Weapons degrade with every shot fired. If you don’t take care of your gear, you’ll start running into issues like:
Jamming: Weapons are more likely to jam the more you use them. Be ready to clear that jam if you want to keep fighting.
Slower Reloads: Some guns won’t bolt-lock on an empty mag, leading to slower reloads.
Reduced Accuracy: Over time, your weapon’s shots will start to stray, making it harder to hit your target.
To keep your weapons functioning, you'll need to clean them using acidic mushrooms you find around the island.
Acquiring Weapons
You can obtain weapons in several ways:
Buy from the Arms Dealer: There’s a shady dealer who’ll trade weapons for gold you find on the island.
Loot from Enemies: Mercenaries drop weapons when you take them down, though they’re often in poor condition.
Find Hidden Weapons: Some of the best weapons are hidden around the map, including legendary variants with special perks.
The game also has hidden, harder to get legendary weapons:
Golden Desert Eagle: High damage, beautiful to look at.
Woodland AK: A rare variant with camo that does exactly what an AK does, but it looks cool doing it.
(Planned) Other Legendary Weapons: These could have unique traits, like not jamming or dealing extra damage with more recoil.
Gunfights & Enemy Behavior
The combat system in FEROCIOUS is all about dynamic interactions between you, mercenaries, and dinosaurs. You won’t just be shooting; you’ll be reacting to the environment and leveraging it in your favor.
AI Behavior: Enemies take cover, call for backup, and even fight back in packs.
Dinosaurs: They act on instinct and are unpredictable, but if you can use them to your advantage, they’ll fight mercenaries for you.
Environmental Effects: Explosives and heavy weapons cause ragdoll effects, dismemberment, and destruction that can change the flow of combat.
Melee Weapons & Stealth Kills
While melee weapons are secondary, some can be thrown, and there’s a stealth mechanic where you can sneak up behind enemies for a quick, silent kill with a knife. It’s not flashy, but effective.
That’s it for now. Let me know what you think, and stay tuned for another devlog soon! See ya!
