A small weekend patch cuz I finally figured out why this sort of murky darkness had descended on the visuals. It was a faulty shading issue caused by the sort of low lying shadow the Edge cast. I had been trying to correct with post processing leaving the game a bit murkier than before the Edge update. Now that I found the culprit I reverted the color grading settings to a earlier setting.
Also fiddled with some more minor balancing and fixed some streetlights and light fixures from not being fully lit.
changelist:
fixed some lights not turned on on imperial buildings
Fixed an ugly dark wash that had come over the world in the edge
Fixed ambient occlusion not properly fading down on the edge
Reduced base output of wood extractor
Reduced base output of stone extractor
Reduced base output of iron extractor
Increased the required power of a tower to reach max output of capital class vessels from a commander (it needs to be bigger)
A lot has happened since the last MGL—wow! The environment is full of abandoned life capsules on the LAB LVL, with new life support systems and simple yet powerful interactive crafting. Let's look at it one thing at a time.
Life on the lowest LVL of society is maintained in the smallest capsules possible, in mostly abandoned territory.
Indeed, a small capsule, but it can still be very cozy and functional to live in.
The very first thing to craft will be some food for you and your dear friends, the rats. After choosing a dish, you will need to use the pestle firmly in the mortar with your mouse to prepare the desired food.
Two new life support systems help you "float for now": a lifeguard robot that saves you if you fall into water and a drone that delivers leftovers to the elites, who care about waste recycling at the end of the day.
Stay alive on the LAB LVL; one day, you will buy your ticket to move up.
New Items: Tome Of Motion Recipe: Blue Page + Blue Page + Kinetic Shank + Yellow Page + Yellow Page.
Passive. Use this item to toggle it on or off.
Movement speed ramps up as you move, from 20% to 300% over the course of 6 seconds, resetting to 20% while standing still.
Lose some speed when you press one of the four movement keys.
Creates a damaging radius around you, its size and damage scale with your velocity, up to 10x.
Upon hitting an enemy, the radius disappears for 2 seconds.
DNAilgun Recipe: Nailgun + Body Shard.
Fire1: Rapidly fires bursts of two nails which move in a helix pattern.
Nails damage enemies and heal allies.
On hit: Certain enemy types become friendly. This effect’s duration is additive, being able to stack instead of resetting with each hit.
Friendly enemies lose 5% of their health per second.
New Status Effect: Thunderstruck
Lose your velocity 10 times per second.
Other Changes
Crystal Trench area now opens by crystals growing and destroying the platform.
Added a small decoration to the bench on top of a tree to the north of the Start Shrine, and moved it to be between the Rain Fountain and Cherry Blossom.
Updated the Warp Stone map to reflect the changes above.
Rain Fountain now has a flower which blooms over the course of a run, fully opening once the countdown reaches 12 hours to reveal a crystal that can be destroyed to start the rain.
Updated the rain bestiary spawner and achievement icons to reflect the change above.
Friendly enemies have a clock icon showing their health, similar to the one that shows sentry durations.
Friendly enemies don't count to the "weight" used by the spawn wave system.
Lightning Staff, Surge and the Thunder Bird enemy apply the new Thunderstruck effect, for 0.5, 2 and 1 seconds respectively.
Changed the Tome of Vampirism visual effect to have transparent lines moving up, similar to the Pyramid elevators.
Barrier and Mirror are now spells instead of weapons.
